I've been an apple user for quite a long time in the mobile area (ipods and the phone) and recently switched to galaxy s3 because the android os seemed very interesting and it is. A lot of diverse development going on in the xda-forum and elsewhere.
I've been using the phone for the last week and recently tried to export stuff from my iPhone today and to my surprise the grip and feel was really weird. The iPhone was tiny compared to the S3 and I thought to myself how the f**k did I manage to do all the things I needed to on the small screen. The S3 is still getting used to from the inner software (mostly) and the holding the device. I can fully grasp the iphone and cover it up with my fist while I cant with the S3 and the screen of the S3 is just fantastic. Thinking back on playing the games on the iPhone is funny as I don't get a cramp from playing on the S3 compared to the iPhone.
I've read rumors about the new iPhone being longer in length but width wise is the same. That to me is a huge mistake as the width needed to be increased and not the length.
Anyways thats just me blabbing about how I feel about the S3, coming from a iPhone user. Made a great decision.

Welcome to amdroid ,the only thing I miss of my iPhone is getting new apps in the app store like every week a new cool app will come out ,on android I don't see that(been a long time android user and had my iphone 4s for 7 months) other that is great, if you like tweetbot try out tweetlanes ,is not the same but is the closest that I can find with mice UI

I feel the same way - left the iphone for the S3 after being locked down with IOS for 4 years, even with that giant scree the S3 feels much better in hand than the 4/4S. Could not stand the square edges and much prefer the rounded edge of the S3 or 3GS for that matter -
I can actually hear people too with this phone - lol

The funny thing is with an otterbox case on the s3 feels way smaller than an iPhone 4s with an otterbox, it was like a little brick and the s3 feels great.
I was a long time iPhone user. I get the 4s even tho I was disappointed with it. I never liked it. had to wait 3 months for a jailbreak got it and still wasn't happy. Was just waiting for an Android to wow me I got the HTC one x on launch day and bricked it after a month my fault. Then goe gs3 on launch day. I love this phone its everything I ever wanted in a phone and more. Android 4 life!!!

man I remember my first time switching.
It was a suggestion too from a friend. When I had the iPhone I couldn't use it without Jailbreaking it. There was just no way to operate it in the stock state. As with rooting Jailbreaking did have it's plus and cydia was great. Still I wanted more and my friend...at the time had the new evo rooted....and when I saw the endless possibilities, flashing different Rom's I was sold. Matter a fact I sold my iPhone and bought me the evo and never looked back.

Switched from iPhone also love android os but miss the weekly great apps and games that come out for iPhone each week. I wish developers would release for Android like they do for iphone. IPhone os sucks over android but apps on iOS or much better especially for games. However sgs3 rocks.

I remember when I first saw the demo unit in T-Mobile and it blew my mind by how big the screen was and now, it doesnt feel that big anymore. But still, When I hold an Iphone (I wash my hands after holding one lol) I laugh at how puny the screen is... And holding my G1, its just ridiculous!

A month from now you will go back its the same thing everday nothing new im already sick of flashing roms cause its the same but minor updates that still have issues .not to bash android its cool to mess around if your bored after a while you wanna get something new for me im bored of the s3 already only had it for 5 days .

IOS lags....you just don't see it cause of the heavy handed transitions.
Google finally realized it and has worked on their own transitions to mask it in JB as well. JB is faster than ICS but the transitions is what makes it buttery.

I had an iphone 4 for a few months just to see what the hype was about. I didn't get it. Phone is smooth, but jailbreak it and it's a laggy mess. I had to unjailbreak it cause I couldn't stand it. It was such a relief to have my hands back on a good android phone that didn't make me use itunes to control everything I wanted to put on my phone. Before I got my nexus, I used my old evo 3d for a few days. I would even choose that over any iphone that is currently out. Maybe the next iphone will be the bee's knees, but what can it bring that isn't out? Still tied to itunes, no text reflow, and still no way to put downloaded music from your email into your music player list (wtf.) I'll take a small bit of lag in android as a trade off for freedom. Still, i'm no apple hater...it's a good phone for my almost 60 year old parents.
And I'm not sure how this fits in, but I find it hilarious. I help run a couple private training studios. We have 2 owners. I oversee both locations doing a little bit of everything. We have a marketing director. We have 4 managers between both locations. That's 8 people. I have the Nexus. They have 7 iphones. And it has nothing to do with work. And not one of them can give me a real valid reason to have it over an android. The brainwashing is incredible, I'll give Apple that.
I have to be honest. I own both devices. I originally left android because of the fragmentation. Even when I bought the nexus s, I didn't get timely upgrades because it was the 4G (sprint version). Now, I can truly say that Android has caught up and possibly surpassed iOS. Only problem is, that I still finding myself wishing I had certain features from my iPhone on my GNex (GSM!!!! F*** CDMA). For me (remember, I'm only 1 person out of however many billion people there are in the world), I wish my GNex and iPhone would have a mutt baby with the features I like from both.
I love my Nexus, yes, but I also love my iPhone. That's just me.... Then again, I might just be a confused guy... It took me until I was 16 to realize I couldn't be from Boston and like both the Sox and the Yankees... So I chose the Yankees.... lol, just kidding, I bleed Boston!!!!

Only things I dislike about android is we are forced to wait months later to get games iOS already has, an there is no google music purchases outside the US, no google wallet an no google voice service, an no fast updates unless you flash yakju, I guess that why apple are still ahead as their sh#t works in every country.

You have no idea what Google did, they increased the framerate, by waking up when you touch the screen, the screen also follows your finger faster, the lag isn't masked like on iOS, its just plain gone, the use vsync to sync the framerate to the screen refresh rate, when switching homescreens keep your finger on the screen and you'll see how much smoother it is that ICS, the transitions are the same speed, they're just smoother, some are faster indeed but still smooth. Not to mention it is hardware accelerated unlike iOS and galaxy s3 which are both mainly pre-rendered frames that's what makes those smooth

Sent from my Jelly Beaned GNexus
Only reason I use iTunes is because I can't buy my music on my galaxy nexus using play store because I'm not in america what's the deal with that, yet I can rent movies on play movies, the diversity of android phones has nothing to do with buying songs from the play store, all gsm nexus should get ota updates around same time not months apart, flashing proves the updates work with all gsm gnex's yet the way their updates are passed on to consumer is seriously screwed up, google are their own worst enemy not apple, they need to think about android universally not just US users that get all the features an updates, they will never succeed with that attitude, by the time they do get it right it will be too late.
The lag isn't totally gone, so it's moot to ask.

I think I know what he means. Apps that are vibrant and uniform in their look. Android has some great apps out there but their graphics (icons, backgrounds, etc) could use some work. Hence why Google released some templates to make apps in the latest SDK after Google IO
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I don't know what people are referring to when they say limited app offerings. Android lags a bit on games and, certainly, tablet apps. Android is on par with iOS when it comes to other apps. As far as the OS itself goes, Android is a far more feature rich system. That is why half of the features Apple "invents" are ripped off from Android. This has gotten more blatant with each iOS release. See the feature list on their two most recent updates as a reference. I use my devices for work and am a scatterbrained person, so I multitask heavily and iOS would not be an option. There was a time Apple had more polish, but those days are long gone. In recent years, Android and Linux, as a whole, have shown that you can be open, easy to use and refined.

I picked this phone vs the S3 because the blue S3 looked cheap and plasticy but what I didn't realize is that the white looks actually pretty nice. Definitely not as nice as the One X, due to the unibody they can make the back really nice. The removable back leads in a plasticy look. Another thing was, that was 500-600 dollars and the one x was 400-500.
On a side rant, I feel that Samsung and Apple are so popular for their unification. Yes, unification. There is one apple connector and one iOS. Simplicity with OS and unification. You can tell your friend about an awesome app and they can get it too because there is one iPhone 4, yet a bunch of android phones. However, Samsung brings US that unity.
Cool story bro..
I can't see this thread lasting, as comparison threads don't seem to be allowed.
However, my personal reasons were:
1. ICS was a disaster compared to GB on the SGS2, it looked awful, it ran slower, and had force closures. (It actually benchmarked higher, but ran worse)
2. I've always had Samsung for android, and fancied a change.
3. The specs of the HOX were amazing, and to offer these many months before the SGS3, win win.
4. Screen, design, camera and tegra3 were all big plus points for me.
sense was an unknown to me, but was pleased in videos and even more pleased once used.
After seeing and using my mates S3, to say I'm happy is an understatement - the screen alone makes the choice much easier for me to choose.

The fact that it has sense which is much better than Kies and the e-book reading on this screen is really very good.
1. Looks - HOX is way nicer looking than the S3. I wanted to llike the S3 but just couldn't because it was so ugly.
2. Sense - Sense UI is way more polished (especially after 4.1 update). TW seems incomplete with a mix of TW and stock that doesn't mix well together.
3. Screen - Truer colors and sharper text.

My previous phone was the SGS2 and my phone before that the Desire and although the SGS2 was a much more powerful phone I missed all the functionality of Sense
I had the Galaxy S3 and sent it back and got the One X.
Didn't like Touchwiz at all. And the Samsung plasticky feel was awful. I thought it was a bit over-rated when I tried it myself but that's just my opinion.
Much prefer the One X.
Only thing I liked better about the S3 was the Unlocked booloader and removable battery.
Comming from an HTC Sensation that I really disliked (after having an HD2....I was so disappointed with the Sensation, seing the GS2), I wanted the GS3 because I had lost my faith in HTC capacity to provide THE most powerful device.
But I had the HOX for free as a gift from a very good friend
....and found the HOX was very good, as good as the GS3, for me both are just at the same level, a real question of personnal taste, having one in each hand, I couldn't decide which is the best.
So actually, nothing made me choose
ok , first up phones will be used on a normal 3G network , not LTE and stuff.
right i am confused atm , using a S1.
used a epic touch for a few hours and loved it ,
but now i am in a dilemma over which phone to get from among Galaxy Nexus and Epic Touch.
can you guyz help me decide , my usage will be normal , No gaming or once a while may be , loads of surfing , emails , calls , smses , need decent battery life .
i am still inclined towards S2 epic touch owing to following observations ( i may be wrong so gimme some margin of error )
first up didnt find nexus as appealing in looks as is s2
its screen space is far lesser as compared to s2 as a lot of area is taken up by the nav bar in nexus
also the nexus screen looks smaller in width as compared to s2 despite being bigger in size ( atleast to me )
the processor of s2 is superior as compared to the type of processor in nexus , there was visible lag on home screens on nexus while a live wallpaper was being used
the camera quality is better in epic and i need camera coz i like to take snaps every now and then of my kids.
battery is abysmal on nexus ( at least thats what i have heard ) , and as far as JB is concerned when you are rooted you can install JB in a jiffy on S2 too
thanks for reading
waiting for responses.
Epic touch plus GB.

Thanks no better combo than epic touch and EL29
I had a Sprint Nexus for a little while, but I sold it and came back to my E4GT. I've run Calk's 3.0 GB ROM on it for a long time, but the latest CM10 JB ROM seems stable enough now. Get the Epic Touch and you can run GB, ICS, or JB - best of all worlds!
Epic 4G Touch all daaay!
e4gt+cm10 jb.. ridiculous speeds-. boot up time is like 18-21sec., google chrome is retarded fast, gps locks in seconds.. crazy crazy good phone
This thread is likely to be biased, you are in the epic forums after all.

Because the CDMA nexus receives updates via carrier due to the proprietary CDMA blobs needed, hence they do not have official aosp support from Google. The difference being an update to jb the day after Google io for gsm nexuses compared to the sprint one which got it what, late last week... personally if I'm getting a nexus device I want my carrier out of the update picture, and official aosp support so it'll be super easy to compile my own aosp/cm/aokp/etc... roms...
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Depends on how you feel about touchwiz compared to aosp.
My mom got the galaxy nexus for t-mobile and at first I was envious but then I used it and was unimpressed. Sure it was fast but Samsung has spent a lot of time making the OS easier to use and google has less experience
If my phone were more of a toy than a tool I might feel differently but I most definitely need it as a tool.
So I vote e4gt.
I don't hate touch wiz as much as many of the users do, and I agree its pretty simple as well. So no aversions there.
I did my own research and found that nexus's hardware ain't good as s2.
I am now totally inclined towards PS2 as well.
I know its kinna kiddish to ask but why do people say that black s2 works better than white. What's the basis of this comment apart from the fact that white gets scratched quickly.
Regards and thanks to all for chipping in.
GWizzing on beautifully and freakin loving it.
I sold my epic touch and have a gsm galaxy nexus and a straight talk sim on the way. Tired of sprints horrible network and the epic touch not being officially supported by cyanogenmod. I know the devs work hard but I am looking forward to having a true aosp device.
I have a black and my wife has the white. There is NO difference other than color.
As far as the OP, I've messed around with my bosses VZW nexus, it doesn't compare to the E4GT. And don't listen to the gingerbread nazis. There is nothing wrong with ICS. JB on the other hand isn't quite there yet for daily driver status.
I'm not going to argue the merits of ICS here, just saying it's not as bad as a small group of very vocal people make it out to be. Lots of very good roms are available for ICS, where GB development is pretty much totally dead.
ok
got to compare both the phones today.
all i can say that apart from a moderately better screen , the galaxy nexus is nowhere near S2, and i am saying this after trying out many things on both the handsets.
Didnt like the look and feel of Nexus , too bland ,
S2 is pretty sleek and sexy
ran a live wallpaper on both and did home screen scolling , lol exynos processor kills the T whatever processor is there in nexus.
and those who are betting on a fast update , LOL the updates are pushed via sprint if i am correct so they can never hit the phone before 2 or 3 months
so I am done : S2 that too white for me.
thanks guyz , love the XDA community

Why not the S3? Better than both of those.
good point , but somehow if i wanna go to S3 then would rather go to Note 2.
and S2 am getting for the right price as well
My GF has the Verizon Gnex with Codename(Android) JB 4.1.1 on it. I just got this Sprint E4GT and I'm running CM10 alpha 5.3.
The question comes down to hardware or software. The Gnex with CNA 4.1.1 ROM is amazing. You can do so much with it and it's rock stable. Its CPU/GPU combo aren't as fast as the E4GT but you said you're not playing games.
The 720p SAMOLED on the Gnex is really nice to surf on.
Plus, you don't have to worry about any Odin crap when flashing and updating. It's so much easier and less complicated.
Go look in the Gnex forums, they have 3-5x the developer support of this phone. I also have CNA 4.1.1 running on a Nexus S and pretty dang smooth considering how old the hardware is. You can't beat the software future-proofness of a Nexus phone.
I also used to own an HTC Evo and HTC Evo 3D. Both HTC were easier to flash than the Galaxy line. You could easily interchange kernels and ROMs without any complexity or worries about bricking your phone (on both HTC and Nexus). What is up with this Odin thing?
But, if you want better CPU/GPU, the E4GT is better, but the screen isn't as good as the Gnex 720p screen.
My ideal phone would be a 5" Nexus. C'mon Santa Google, ring in the new year and shove it up Apple's bunghole!
hmmm.. now i donno i am havin second thoughts , although i justy love S2 , but one thing constantly bugging me is that i am gonna buy an older phone i guess just about a year older.
as far as hardware is concerned well , i want my phone to be super smooth , with 0 lag , i mean i would hate lag even scrolling thru the youtube videos
larger screen is a myth in nexus as the nav bar effectively negates the 4.6 size , may be makes it a little lesser than epic T.
the other thing that is making me think is the display quality , i know that SAmoled Plus is better any day , and Gorilla glass makes it super awesome in Epic T ,
whereas the higher resolution is the only advantage i can see in Nexus , but without the PLUS and with oleophobic coating it loses the points that it scores. ( as far as my thinking goes )
Although i have taken the plunge and got s2
but a few of my pals are in the same boat and i am not able to convince them.
Post your views about my query folks
regards
Hello everyone, I'm just posting about my experience with the iphone 5. I bought a white one on the release date and put my trusty S3 in a drawer for a back up. We'll I didn't even last three days before I ran back to At&t and got my S3 reactivated. The iphone is nice and all that but it's too simple for my taste, I need to be able to do what I want when I want and I felt severely handicapped with the iphone 5. Not saying it's a bad phone but it's definitely not for me. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Not too many Android users are willing to sink that kind of coin for a phone to simply try it out. Especially in this forum since we have the latest Samsung phone. Good to see you come back. I personally could never go back to Apple. Just sucks because I own a Apple TV and MacBook Pro. Apples ecosystem is great. Wish Google got with the times when it comes to cross platform support. More specifically I miss air play, ability to control all my home media with my phone etc.
And I know dlna/all cast is available but Google needs to implement something in their next OS that smokes Apples.

I've done both android and iphone in the past. I got my wife the iPhone 5 and I do like it. I had the 4 and while it's not a huge leap in design and features the improvements are nice and it is a very smooth experience.
And for some reason it's wicked fast on the net. I like my sgs3 but don't see a fault with the iPhone 5. Phones are phones and each one brings something unique to a user

I'm in the same boat as far as the Apple tv and macbook so I can understand where you're coming from. I might just keep it as a backup phone in case something happens to my S3...

My wife is looking at the iPhone 5, she's worried about battery life though(she works about 10 hours a day with no way to charge her phone).
How has your battery life been so far?
Thanks
only thing i miss about iphone life is the all the accessories.
car integration, sound docs, .....
but, all that goes out the window with the new lighting adapter.
Android gv you more freedom

At least we know 5 millions new iphone 5 users disagree with you in this week alone

don't know how anyone can argue that the iphone is not a good phone.
i like the S3 for the flexibility and total control over the phone that it allows.
I've been reading nothing but bad reviews from customers about the battery life of iphone 5. Yeah, all these main sites are comparing the battery life with the RAZOR MAXX but then in the comments section people are always complaining saying the claims aren't true.

I'm guessing the people having the short battery life are running the phone a lot with LTE.

I have an ATT gs3 and also the iphone 5 im testing out. The iphone 5 has amazing battery life. Was able to get 14 hours of standby and 9 hours 30 min of usage out of it yesterday with 21% remaining for the day. And its suppose to be the same battery life as the chip is the same one powering both.

Yes, sort of.
I switched to the GS3 from a 4S about three months ago. Took a bit of adjusting to say the least. I held on to the 4S for almost a month before I sold it, thinking it was enough to wean off of iOS. I now definitely prefer the S3 for general device usage, but I miss the many apps I'd purchased on the Apple app store for the past three years, so I started looking for deals on used 4S. On iPhone 5 launch day I bought a like new 4S from a guy who just upgraded to the 5, for half of what I sold my 4S for couple months back lol. Now I can switch between them as I please.
Other than some of the apps I'm missing, it's kind of hard to go back. I think Apple is too far in the simplicity end of the scale. Just an example, iPhone gives you ZERO ability to change anything on the camera, not even change to a lower resolution. S3, never mind that I can adjust things like metering method and ISO sensitivity, I can put those control shortcuts right on the screen.

Do you have an absolutely ridiculous amount of spare money or something?
You could have just given me $700 and I'd have told you the iPhone is poop.
The battery life is far from stellar and it still doesn't have widgets among other things I'm just not impressed with it.the new maps suck I had to create a new account for the App Store just to download YouTube and it forces you to add your credit card info before you can even download free apps ill never get of my s3 for the i5 it's just less of a phone IMHO

Sweet good to know, my gf is getting one once her contract is up. Galaxy S3 does a great job with battery life when you consider the much larger/brighter screen as well as the widgets and number of processes it has running compared to the iphone 5. I couldn't leave to switch to the iphone 5, way too many features lost and I'm spoiled with the bigger screen. iPhone 5 is marketed towards simplicity for the older generation transitioning to smart phones and people who don't like to mess around with their phone too much. Multitasking is absolutely terrible with the iphone, but the ios6 Siri is pretty cool I must say. Great improvement there.
I have both s3 and ip5. Been switching between them depending where I go because I don't have a case yet for the ip5 so I have been carefull with it. Both are great phones. My biggest complaint is you can't change the black background menus and white text on the s3. I almost throw my s3 at the pavement everytime I get a call outside in the daylight. I have to cover the screen with both hands just to see who is callng! With the ip5 I can see it easily even with sunglasses because it has white backgrounds and black text. Everyone talks about how customizable android phones are but this simple change to invert the color scheme is near impossible to do. Im just going to keep the s3 around to play with but the ip5 is going to be my daily driver.

Yeah, it's a little hard to read. If you have auto brightness enabled, it should make it a lot easier to read. As for white backgrounds, there's got to be a white theme out there you can apply to your GS3 to make it easier to read.
Okay, I've had the Optimus G (OG) for about a week now, and I can honestly say I enjoy it more than the GS3 I owned for a few months. I've lurked XDA a lot but figured I'd post this impressions thread in hopes of helping others out who are on the fence. I know I was definitely deciding between these 2 phones, and these kinds of posts really helped me.
Hardware and build quality are A LOT better. I've already had a few comments from strangers when they see me playing with my phone (case-less for now, eek).. asking "hey what phone is that?" or "that looks sleek"
It feels more premium in your hand and the sleek black with a touch of chrome makes it look a lot better than the cheap plastic of the GS3 in my opinion. The front/bezel is purely black (and by this, I mean when the screen's off, the entire front is pure black) and for whatever reason, it just looks sexy with the rest of the black phone. Also, it feels better in your hand... like you're holding something of quality.
Software-wise, I'll be honest I didn't go default with either phone. I love Nova Prime launcher for the gestures. (I set up double tap screen for opening camera, swipe down to bring up navigation is clutch when driving, amongst other gestures). I can say though, I've used the quickmemo A LOT more than I thought I would. It's nice to just pull it up to scribble down a quick note... I mean that's the only kind of notes that I take on my cell phone anyway. Then, you can store it in your picture gallery or your notepad app. I haven't used Qslide at all... especially because it doesn't work on YouTube and I don't watch movies on my cell phone.
Speaking of software, you will definitely notice how faster, quicker, and instant everything is on the OG. It's a snappy phone. I never thought the GS3 had lag, but after using the OG, you definitely notice it. I've tried to slow/lag it down... opening up navigation, youtube videos, browser, texting, etc at once and everything is just fluid. VERY impressed with the quad core snap dragon.
The screen is noticeably more vibrant. I'm never too picky on screens though.
I really don't have any gripes on the phone itself. My only concern is the lack of exposure it has. Not many cases or accessories if you're into that and not really that much buzz... considering everything this phone has inside.
Having said that, it kind of makes me feel like I have something special in my hands with this phone. It makes it more unique and luxurious... if that makes sense.
As long as it gets software support, I am extremely happy with my decision so far. The GS3 is popular, will have great product support, and lots of people have it... so it has that sense of community (as Apple does). But all of that stuff really doesn't mean much to me in owning a phone besides the product support.
After having this device for a couple of days i thought it was time to post my thoughts on it.
First off... build quality is amazing. Finally feels like I'm holding an expensive device. Was able to get a case for it at best buy the day i bought it. Put a zagg hd screen protector on it so my phone is protected. Sound quality is pretty good and the camera isn't bad once you change some settings.
Software is great too. Love the little things they did and love the layout. I too installed Nova Launcher after playing around with the stock one for a day. This phone is fast and cant wait for some aosp rom to come out or even better cyanogen mod (crossing fingers).
Gaming is amazing too. The Amazing Spiderman game from Gameloft runs with no lag whatsoever. 2Gbs of ram really help out and should be a standard on phones.
The screen is just awesome.
Battery life varies depending on what you are doing or what you use a phone for which is true for any device. I can easily go a full day and still have 50% percent left by turning off sync and data connection and only turning them on when i need to use them. When i play games the battery goes down fast too but im playing graphic intense games and usually am close to a charger when i do.
Playing movies looks awesome and the dolby mobile enhances the sound even more when headphones are used.
Overall this is my six android phone in three years and by far the best I've owned or touch (my wife has a galaxy s3 which i told her to get since she uses her phone as her primary camera). Def recommend it.

What kind of settings did you change with the camera? I don't think it's all that bad, but am open to suggestions.
I have the default and the Camera Zoom FX app
Also, how do you take screenshots?
Take screenshots by using quickmemo. Just dont draw anything and hit the save icon. I'm not for sure what all i changed since i reset it to default. Just play around a bit you can reset camera to defaults in the camera settings

I'm currently on the S3 and I've seen an RF sheet that shows the Optimus G has overall, the best signal strength out of any other device on Sprint. The issue is whether or not I can put up with the lack of development support. I know it's new and all but there's not much action as of yet. On the GS3, we had people upload ROMs before the phone was out!
Also - I just purchased a 32GB sd card that would be useless on the LG so I'm kind of at a stalemate. I'm just torn pretty much. I like the LG Optimus G's performance and UI (Samsung's stock UI is disgusting on Jellybean). Also the quad core would be nice. But I'm kind of a signal freak. I'm a big fan of s4gru and I literally drive to local towers on a week basis to check network vision progress lol. Biggest reason behind wanting an LG is the signal strength. In bestbuy, my phone had varied from -89-99dBm on EvDo while the LG Optimus held a steady -83-88dBm. This means the LG is more secure with holding onto a signal than the GS3 is and that is fact, according the to RF sheets provided by FCC documentation.

(The higher the number, the better). The LG and Motorola Photon appear to be the best in terms of signal strength. Surprisingly, Samsung's GS3 is of the lowest!
I think if your on the fence about the microSD card. Consider this.
On my previous phone, I had a 64gb microsd card, which housed a large amount of my data-videos, ebooks, music, etc.
However, when I switched to this phone, and was transferring my data, I slowly realized that a lot of that data was useless. They were either books I previously read, songs that I didn't really listen to, so I then got a premium account on spotify, and videos that I should really just delete after I download.
All in all, I was capable of using only 10GB of my 32gb. And, I feel like I haven't missed a beat with storage. And this includes having a PSX emulator, Chrono trigger, and chaos rings on the device.
Also, the response time of apps opening is much faster when stored on main disk.

I've decided to stick it out with galaxy s3 mostly due to expandable battery and SD card slot. Still very tempting though lg!

So far very impressed coming from 3d, still no root, navigation of screens is a little difficult, but sure when root and dev kicks in this will not be problem.
Big plus for me is battery and most importantly signal. Tried HTC LTE on launch and signal worse on 3d, this is by far the best signal I have had on Sprints crappy. Network in Arizona. Speed and performance amazing, though awesome on 3d with custom kernel and tweaks with antutu at 8000ish, higher now of course with no tweaks.
Want to wait for quad core HTC or maybe Samsung, but need change and BestBuy price last few days $100 decided to try. Thinking will be keeping, next week will determine.

I'm liking mine very much so far. What do you mean "No Root yet", I've ben rooted for 4 or 5 days now atleast. Anyways it's a shame I have to keep his sexy sleek thing in a case just to keep me from going crazy thinking somethng will happen. I just hope they are willing to develop the software that'll push the 13mp lens to its fullest potential, far better than my Evo3D was but I see room for improvement still. Fast fast fast...just the way I like em, even without tweaks this thing is fast enough for me. Just with root alone I'm happy running my apps like WifiTether, don't need it any faster so I probaby won't run anything custom yet when it comes out. Overall very happy, was wanting an HTC quad core but not willing t wait till next spring so here I am with an LG-OG in my hands
