Picture cards (from wikipedia) are not showing in Google voice search. Is there any way to fix it??? Or are there any settings that i'm missing out on? And i'm currently outside US so can it be the reason?
Unfortunately you are right, in your setting, set it to search on google.com, (Google now, settings, privacy and accounts, tick the box), then you will get pictures. This used to break local searches, but they seem ok now =]

I tried setting an alarm but for some reason it still forces a Google search, despite processing the command correctly. How do I fix this?
Also, Google Now doesn't talk back even though I set everything to US English. It forces a browser search, rather than the built-in in browser like what various videos show.
I'm having identical issues, although I can get my phone to talk back.
If I ask "Who is the prime minister of Australia" it will talk back the answer to me.
But if I ask it to set a reminder or to send a message it just does a Google search.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Set the Devices language to "English (United States)", this is in the main settings not the "Google Now" (Settings->Language & input). The other voice/input language options can be whatever you want.
You should be able to tell if it worked as the Google Search should now have mountains as a background rather than being blank, and in the Google Now app's settings the first option should show up as "Google Now" not "Now Cards".
The only problem is now the weather is in Fahrenheit
EDIT: This can just be set back in the setting for the Weather card
It shows the background for a second and it disappears. I was probably redirected to the local Google region-specific site. Is there a setting I can change to make the search engine google.com?
Ashaman's mod had the option to re enable universal search in Google Search. I prefer being able to use search to search for apps, contacts etc. I'm wondering if there is any to not have it show results by default when opening search. For example, when I open search, it'll show most people contacted and my last searches. I rather it didn't.
I cleared the data under app management and that seemed to do the trick. Except as soon as I searched for something that same list was back. Any way to get rid of it?
Guys
Is there a way to delete the work location? It seems I need to put something in there and don't have a daily work location. I don't mind when Google now sees an appointment in my calendar for a particular location but when my calendar is empty, I rather not have the alert
Thanks
Have you tried looking at the Google Now settings?
yup every tab in there. I can change the work location address but not delete it
You can also disable the notification.
Go to Google maps on a browser you are logged in with your Google account on. Click my places and edit / delete your work location. Don't know if it works but worth a shot.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Went to google maps and it did show under places and I deleted it. However, it still shows up under google now on my phone.Tried rebooting but didn't help
Why are you trying to remove the saved location? Did you try the setting to just disable the notification?
If I disable the notification, it'll disable everything from Home and I don't want that. I want it to give me notifications when something is in my calendar but don't want a default notification to work because I don't go to my work location every day
I have settings specifically for "Before commute from home" and "Before commute to home". I'm pretty sure those are only for work and have nothing to do with travel time to other meetings in your calendar.
I recently had some trouble with Google Now literally searching for Voice Controls. I have seen other people having issues with this as well, but no viable solution seems to had been found. Untill now. Which I stumbled upon accidentally. XD
A Example of the issue is say, if I say "Set Timer for 10 minutes", it would literally search the web for that phrase. Basically, somehow that phase got added to the "web search" portion of your search history. If your having this occur with 1 or more of your voice control options then my solution should fix it up.
Solution 1. Reinstall Google Search, this can be done by going to the Play Store, going into My Apps, and simply uninstalling and installing the Google Search application. *This will require you setting up Google Now again, but all of your settings should be stored in the cloud*
If this restores the missing Voice Command functions, then you are all set. However, if your like me and it still just is not doing the command you want then this next step will clear it up.
Solution 2. Open Google Now > Press the settings button > Tap Settings > "Privacy & accounts" > Then turn OFF "Web History", then turn it back on again.
Congratulations, what Voice Commands were still missing after re-installation of Google Search should now be working. Basically turning off Web History caused Google Now to re-sync with the cloud and correct the issue.
So I just noticed that I could not search for contacts through the main google search bar. It was weird since this is how I always do it. So I thought that maybe the contacts option was turned off. I went to Google settings/general/personal results and the weird thing is that it doesn't have all the standard search option to choose like contacts, music, websites, etc. It only shows one thing for apps. The only thing that I did was enable developer options. Does anyone know how to get these things back? It's annoying as hell not being able to search and having to use individual apps to do so.
Well, I figured it out. Had to uninstall Google assistant and updates to get it back
yeah, them removing it is frustrating.. i did find a thread a while back that it now shows a contact page, but thats if you type in the full name pretty much.
