Giving my E4GT to the wife and need to wipe it. I would like it to be stock and also have root, so I went looking for the Stock FE18 rooted rom to flash via recovery.
Can't seem to find it. Can someone point me?
Its still there. Odin tar FF18. I would link but I can't atm. Its in the dev section. Or tFF18 by agat63 is there too. Its stock with safe kernel/recovery.

Depending what you want you can find it in the 1st or 2nd post:

Those are .exe files... They won't work on mobile odin right???

Mobile Odin says some exe files may work. There's an EG30 factory ROM available, use that and flash EL29. Check the wiki for EG30 Odin.

Then just install the CWM kernel and you are good to go!
Fyi - If you don't like the yellow triangle on boot I'd use Mobile Odin to flash the CWM.

Just an FYI, installing CWM via the Auto Root package in the development sticky also would not trigger the yellow triangle.
Only flashing a kernel/recovery not signed by Samsung using regular ODIN will trigger the yellow triangle.
But wut if I don't have a computer and just want to use mobile odin

What are you trying to accomplish? There's a factory EG30 Tar file for Mobile Odin. It's not rooted but will get you to factory and you can update to EL29 via OTA. If you want to Odin and keep root you'll have to find a rooted ROM tar in one of sfhub's threads. At worst, you'll have to extract individual packets from the exe files or find an individual file in the resource section.

Alternatively, couldn't he just install the EL29 rogue repack with mobile odin, then restore a GB nandroid if he has one? This would keep him from having to install another rom altogether, and get him back to previous setup

Sure, if there is a nandroid backup that would be quickest to restore rom and user data. Still need to flash the modem as above.

Isn't modem completely independent of ROM and kernel though, so that wouldn't be necessary, unless he really wanted everything back to EL29?

It just depends what you want to restore to. You can run an EL29 ROM with a different modem. If someone says they want to restore back to a previous version, unless they mention otherwise, I give them instructions to restore modem, kernel, and ROM.
I'm trying to flash custom roms to my phone but for som reason it just goes to the little android icon. I'm on EL29 stock root and attempting to flash EL29 custom blazer rom. Anyone else having this issue?
Sounds like you have a stock recovery. Install a custom recovery via sfhub's sticky in the development forum

Here is a link to the stock el26 with cwm. Use odin/mobile odin to flash.

I'm back to stock on Sprint Epic 4G Touch with the OTA update to ICS that I recently had to flash back to EL29 and stock recovery to update to. I was still rooted until I updated to Android 4.0 ICS so now I am totally stock once again. Is there a method to obtain root access for stock ICS and stock recovery as well as flash CWM recovery? Any help is always appreciated. Thanks. If there is already a thread dedicated to this I apologize for missing it.
I suggest you follow the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
Got it and all set need to flash CWM recovery then back to where I want to be once again. Now just need to find a stable overclock kernel.

Based on this thread:

It seems that the main issue was some emmc issue causing bricks when flashing with ICS because we didn't have an official release or the source.
I've seen a few rom developers state that they think this problem has been solved in some later kernels. Now that we have an official ICS release, Is this a safe process now? Are there certain roms or kernels I should be using to get ICS recovery to work safely?
Basically I want to no longer have to flash el29 just to try things like Google Now ports and stuff. I want a fully mobile option to flash multiple roms at my leisure like other phones
Agats kernel/recovery is safe. Sleshepic's kernel/recovery is also safe. I flash ICS to ICS alot thru their recoveries no problem.

I am glad someone else asked this because I was just about to do the same. I am on Agat and was about to go from stock rom to AOKP Milestone 6 but wasn't sure if I could flash back to TW based roms without having to go to EL29.
How do I flash their recoveries? I already rooted and have superuser. I just don't have a recovery and I'm confused on the articles I've read. Thanks in advance.

Every kernel is safe as long as you don't factory reset. use calks flash all zip instead of the wipe in recovery. Rujelus22 has a 2x wipe zip that does it twice. They wipe cache, dalvik, and system data in one shot.
What kernel should i be downloading? I have stock ICS rooted.

Flash Agats kernel. The .tar file in odin or mobile odin.

Hello,
I am running an ICS FF18 custom rom and I am thinking of switching to run The Blu Kuban. My question is what do I need to do to make sure that I dont brick the phone? What are the steps needed to switch safely?
Thank you all for the help!
Search for the el29 cwm direct boot kernel and flash via Odin. That kernel is safe to install roms and wipe data and other stuff.

Please post questions in the Q&A section. Thank you.
So can I just use mobile odin and reflash to EL26 and then flash like normal? I wont have a problem going from ICS FF18 directly to EL26?
Thanks!
I believe he said the el29 direct boot kernel
