I recently just flashed DARKSIDE.EVOLUTION.3:: [v8][UVLE1][VENOM OC|UV] and after I restore my old messages through GO SMS. Both the stock and GO SMS stops working. and my phone becomes very laggy and kind of unusable. I tried reinstalling the rom but I still had the same problem.. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I've just updated my Desire (stock, not rooted) with the new firmware update (2.10.405.2) Since then some apps don't work. I press the icon/widget to start them and the first screen flashes up then disappears, sometimes with a force close error message that disappears as well. I've not tried all my apps yet, but I can't load Opera Mini, NewsRob or the stock Browser. I also can't load Gmail via the Gmail Unread Count widget, but can via the Gmail shortcut.
I've tried simple things, like restarting the phone and uninstalling then reinstalling the apps, but that's not helped.
Has anyone else got this problem? Anyone know the answer?
Try resetting your phone and then set the phone up again before trying any apps.

I was hoping to avoid having to do that, because I don't want to lose all my SMS etc.

I updated my stock HTC Desire and everything is fine including stock browser.
sounds like a reset might be your only option unfortunately.
This is why I delete SMSs once read...one less thing to have to back up!! LOL!!!

I have done some searching and have not been able to find the answer to my problem. I have a rooted evo and I'm just running a rooted version of the Stock Rom. For some reason my phone will stop receiving texts, sending is fine but at times it will just stop receiving texts from anyone. I am using chompsms and i have made sure that it is set to automatically retrieve messages and all that good stuff. I have also uninstalled my appkiller to make sure its not killing any sms stuff. I first started noticing this issue eary last week, I uninstalled the appkiller last sunday and everything seemed to be fine until tonight. Does anyone know what I could do fix this? I am not against flashing a new rom or new kernel if need be, although id prefer just using the stock stuff. I am also running rom manager, titanium backup and the most recent clockwork recovery. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
I recently installed ACS SyndicaterROM Frozen 1.1.1 and everything worked fine until the 3rd day. When I started to get duplicate sms messages from everyone. I have tried wiping and reinstalling the rom and have installed both the ec05 and eeo3 modems. When I reinstall a modem everything works fine for a little while, but then starts to act up again.
I have not had this issue before on other roms.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, it's beginning to get annoying lol
Edit: It now does it off and on. I have deleted everything with permissions to receive and read text messages as well to see if that was the problem.

the problem is after I restored my sms conversation.apk crash.
Is there a way to recover my sms maybe modifying something or using another apology.
I even tried older versions of conversation, no luck at all

Try to clear data of the conversation/messaging apps. This won't delete your messages but would restore the settings. It might work.
Or, you might has restored too many sms than the app itself can store

I've done a factory reset this afternoon, and after reinstalling my messaging app (Smitten) and restoring my SMS via Nandroid Manager and SMS backup and restpre (tried the both), my messaging app is blocked on Loading threads .. I've tried with Smitten and stock, i've deleted and restored sms again but still the same issue ..
Can anyone help me ?
Maybe your backup file is damaged? Can you try this backup, for test of course, on another device?
That didn't came from the backups, I had 2 different ones and it did the same thing twice. After several reboots, it works now ... That's was so unusual :3
