cm9/cm10 color multiplier saving. - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys. I tried looking for info on this but I'm not sure if it even exists. In any case what I'm trying to ask about is cm9's and cm10's color multiier. I a. In the navy and at night we can't be outside with white light. In order to use my phone outside I have to make the phone monochrome red. I used to accomplish this with chain fire 3d on my old epic 4g touch. After converting to jellybean I noticed chain fire doesn't work. So I've gone to cm10. The alpha builds at least. What I want to do is create a profile that when switched to will switch my screen to the new multiplier settings. To accomplishmy mono red I just turn all other colors to 0. Is there a way to save one of these presets? An app maybe? I just wanna be able to hit a profile and boom there it is. Anyone have any ideas?

I made a simple widget works exactly as you sad. It is in beta. I only tested with franco kernel but i assume it works with all kernels which have color multiplier. You can get it from google play Night Mode Widget Beta. Thanks.

Color temp

Hey guys, does anyone know if there is an option to change the color temp of the screen? I remember hearing the sgs2 had a feature to change it built-in. The color temp is a little too warm in my opinion. It might be on purpose to conserve battery but I would prefer it to be cooler (the whites are too yellow).
On my SGS2 I had an app called Screen Adjuster. It would let you change RGB settings. That might help, if it works with ICS. Other than that I know some ROMs for the SGS2 had different screen "modes" like Dynamic, Movie, etc.
Did the app work well for you? I'll give it shot man, thx.
On the SGS2 it worked amazingly well. Made the colors less saturated and more realistic. Of course, that's with the SAMOLED+ screen I think. I'm not sure how it will work with the Nexus screen. Different technologies, right? If you search the SGS2 threads for "screen adjuster" you can see some people's recommended settings for the SGS2. Maybe you can use that as a starting point and work from there? Good luck.
Yea I'm not sure how it'll react since the nexus uses a pentile arrangement while the sgs2 uses rgb. I've actually gotten used to it and don't mind it at all now. Haha go figure right. I guess my eyes just needed to adjust from switching from my vibrant with voodoo color which looked noticeably cooler.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I thought it was worth nothing that I tried the Screen Adjuster app, and while it worked for adjusting the calibration/color temp of my screen, it seemed to make my phone VERY laggy. Does anyone know of another app that will do the same thing but apply the settings permanently in some way without having the run the app in the background? Maybe with root?

Is my screen dying?

Hi guys.
I am on francos kernel with aokp m4. I know a lot of new features include LCD density, gamma and colour tweaks. I never messed around with any of those, because first of all I don't even know what most of that stuff means, and second I don't know what the benefits/downsides are to making those changes. So I left it alone.
I downloaded francos kernel updater and afterwards noticed very slight changes in colour. Everything below the halfway point of the screen has a different hue to it. Like a lighter hue. Its so hard to explain but its there. I deleted the francos kernel updater and it went away.
During the day I don't notice any of it, at home however it seems like it comes back. I then looked at Rom control for Aokp m4 and made sure all those settings were at default. Even then I notice it.
Also, this is gonna be hard to explain as well. Imagine diving the screen into thirds (vertically). I can literally see a line 1/3 down from the top when the screen is off. Its not as scratch or anything but I can see like the pixels. I have to take a torch to it but it is clearly visible. What is it? and does anybody else have it?
Second, 3/3 down in the screen (when it is on) I can see a transparent line (not when the screen is off, only when on, so it is a software thing?) and everything BELOW that is of a different hue.
Funny thing is I never noticed this stuff before, and I've examined the phone closely before.
I would take pictures but they wouldn't help you guys are gonna have to use ur imagination on this one lol
Any ideas?
Ha i have that line as well! Top third of the screen, about 2 pixels wide and going horizontal across the screen. Can only see it when the display is off. Shows nothing when on. I dont have your other issues though.
Install dead pixel detect and check each color and see what you find.
The color change is a kernel tweak. Try to flash GLaDOS kernel and your problems should go away
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
You can edit the colour settings yourself on Franco kernel with his app.

Thats the thing I have edited them to default, I've even gotten rid of the app. It seems like it goes away but comes back :S
Which is why I half think I'm seeing things but I swear the colours look off. Does Aokp build 28 have any of colour changes built in? I know you can change them, but like I said mine are set on default. Does it have any automated changes?
Just edit the colours til you find something you like.
There is a thread somewhere with peoples colour settings in it.
Give it a go and se if you can sort out your problem.
Here is the link, only a few different ones but give em a go

[Q] A serious problem aboout screen color

My GN screen like yellow when I show a white photo.I'm using a kernel who name is franco.
It looks better now. But, is it the only way to fix the screen problem?
Are there any better ways to fix the screen prolbem? I don't want flash this kernel just fix the GN screen problem.
If you didn't root your phone, just serch Screen Adjuster in market. adjust grey balance. it will be better. but you need to turn on manually every reboot.
the problem same as me, but I solved after root and adjust. pls see:

Are you using the franco.kernel app? Because it has color adjustments built in.
A lot of the Roms have that build in now as well.
AOKP and CM9 both actually default your color multipliers HIGHER than normal...resulting in a more vibrant screen. I don't know about the others.
So just flashing the kernel may seem to improve it...but it's actually a setting that is being changed by the rom.
For AOKP it's under Rom Control>Performance>Color Multipliers.
Hit the "default" button there...and it will restore to actual defaults.
As far as fixing without a kernel that allows color control...I don't think you can.
If it's that bothersome and you don't want to flash a kernel: replace the phone.
I think most (all?) of the modern kernels have color control enabled in them anyway. So if you're going custom; you might as well stay put with your device.
Yes,I'm using franco kernel app.And set color values.

[REQ] dev needs /system/etc/mdnie* files

I am working on a night mode app for rooted Galaxy series phones, which turns the screen colors to red to preserve night vision and does so in a better way than ChainFire3D. There are also other color options: sepia is nice for web browsing, for instance, and for browsing at night reversing colors to have red on black or green on black should be nice.
I assume that the S3 has /system/etc/mdnie* screen control files, like my S2. I was wondering if a kind soul could email me (arpruss at gmail dot com) mdnie_tune_ui_dynamic_mode and mdnie_tune_dynamic_mode, assuming the phone has them, and also tell me if the phone has dynamic and standard tuning files in addition to the movie ones. You don't need a rooted device to pull the /system/etc/mdnie* files.
Oh, and if you've changed these files, what I'd like to see is the original ones.
Looking at the kernel sources, it looks like the S3 handles mdnie adjustments differently from my E4GT(2.3.6) and there /system/etc/mdnie*. But if someone volunteers to help test some ideas, I would be grateful.

Trickster Mod color-settings, Intensity

Hi forums,
TL;DR: Could turning up the color-settings in TricksterMOD cause burn-ins?
I recently got my GNex and after fixing the SIM-tray making the phone usable again I of course unlocked the bootloader and flashed ROMs and Kernels (atm CM10.2 latest nightly + Franco kernel) and I use TricksterMOD to make some specific settings (like turning FSync off) and I also found Settings for screen colors, now what I did is just turn those sliders up all the way and set all other options (like Contrast and Gamma) to 0 (as seen on the attatchment), now I have an extremely vibrant and colorful display without this annoying blue-tone everywhere, even whites look more natural now but I've seen some AMOLED-Phones (specifically 2 GS2s from friends) that have things like the Status Bar or the keyboard burned in into the Display and now I worry that that could maybe happen to my Phone as well because of the settings.
I'd like to know your experience and if you think that that's possible, if so I'll turn them down even though I really really love this display now, it's literally the best display I've ever owned (and I have two IPS Monitors in front of me right now)
I'm using a completely black theme over most of the Phone (black status bar of course, black keyboard, black menu-elements, dark backgrounds, saves Battery and looks insanely awesome on this display) that should prevent burn in's from for example the keyboard since black pixels are not lit, but I want to know if it's more likely if the display is brighter due to the settings.
Sry for this long post but you've got the short version at the top if you don't want to read everything
Thanks for your time and help in advance!
Greetings from Germany.
