[Q] A serious problem aboout screen color - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My GN screen like yellow when I show a white photo.I'm using a kernel who name is franco.
It looks better now. But, is it the only way to fix the screen problem?
Are there any better ways to fix the screen prolbem? I don't want flash this kernel just fix the GN screen problem.

If you didn't root your phone, just serch Screen Adjuster in market. adjust grey balance. it will be better. but you need to turn on manually every reboot.
the problem same as me, but I solved after root and adjust. pls see:

Are you using the franco.kernel app? Because it has color adjustments built in.

A lot of the Roms have that build in now as well.
AOKP and CM9 both actually default your color multipliers HIGHER than normal...resulting in a more vibrant screen. I don't know about the others.
So just flashing the kernel may seem to improve it...but it's actually a setting that is being changed by the rom.
For AOKP it's under Rom Control>Performance>Color Multipliers.
Hit the "default" button there...and it will restore to actual defaults.
As far as fixing without a kernel that allows color control...I don't think you can.
If it's that bothersome and you don't want to flash a kernel: replace the phone.
I think most (all?) of the modern kernels have color control enabled in them anyway. So if you're going custom; you might as well stay put with your device.

Yes,I'm using franco kernel app.And set color values.

Is my screen dying?

Hi guys.
I am on francos kernel with aokp m4. I know a lot of new features include LCD density, gamma and colour tweaks. I never messed around with any of those, because first of all I don't even know what most of that stuff means, and second I don't know what the benefits/downsides are to making those changes. So I left it alone.
I downloaded francos kernel updater and afterwards noticed very slight changes in colour. Everything below the halfway point of the screen has a different hue to it. Like a lighter hue. Its so hard to explain but its there. I deleted the francos kernel updater and it went away.
During the day I don't notice any of it, at home however it seems like it comes back. I then looked at Rom control for Aokp m4 and made sure all those settings were at default. Even then I notice it.
Also, this is gonna be hard to explain as well. Imagine diving the screen into thirds (vertically). I can literally see a line 1/3 down from the top when the screen is off. Its not as scratch or anything but I can see like the pixels. I have to take a torch to it but it is clearly visible. What is it? and does anybody else have it?
Second, 3/3 down in the screen (when it is on) I can see a transparent line (not when the screen is off, only when on, so it is a software thing?) and everything BELOW that is of a different hue.
Funny thing is I never noticed this stuff before, and I've examined the phone closely before.
I would take pictures but they wouldn't help you guys are gonna have to use ur imagination on this one lol
Any ideas?
Ha i have that line as well! Top third of the screen, about 2 pixels wide and going horizontal across the screen. Can only see it when the display is off. Shows nothing when on. I dont have your other issues though.
Install dead pixel detect and check each color and see what you find.
The color change is a kernel tweak. Try to flash GLaDOS kernel and your problems should go away

You can edit the colour settings yourself on Franco kernel with his app.

Thats the thing I have edited them to default, I've even gotten rid of the app. It seems like it goes away but comes back :S
Which is why I half think I'm seeing things but I swear the colours look off. Does Aokp build 28 have any of colour changes built in? I know you can change them, but like I said mine are set on default. Does it have any automated changes?
Just edit the colours til you find something you like.
There is a thread somewhere with peoples colour settings in it.
Give it a go and se if you can sort out your problem.
Here is the link, only a few different ones but give em a go

cm9/cm10 color multiplier saving.

Hi guys. I tried looking for info on this but I'm not sure if it even exists. In any case what I'm trying to ask about is cm9's and cm10's color multiier. I a. In the navy and at night we can't be outside with white light. In order to use my phone outside I have to make the phone monochrome red. I used to accomplish this with chain fire 3d on my old epic 4g touch. After converting to jellybean I noticed chain fire doesn't work. So I've gone to cm10. The alpha builds at least. What I want to do is create a profile that when switched to will switch my screen to the new multiplier settings. To accomplishmy mono red I just turn all other colors to 0. Is there a way to save one of these presets? An app maybe? I just wanna be able to hit a profile and boom there it is. Anyone have any ideas?
I made a simple widget works exactly as you sad. It is in beta. I only tested with franco kernel but i assume it works with all kernels which have color multiplier. You can get it from google play Night Mode Widget Beta. Thanks.

Color controls in JB kernels for Supersonic

The Galaxy Nexus seems to have a couple custom kernels that expose color controls. (The stock CM kernel does not appear to support this yet.)
Any kernel devs out there? Take a look at this code and see if this makes any sense to you:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/33866/1/arch/arm/mach-msm/lge/mako/board-mako-display.c
Is this something that could ever find its way into a kernel that works on Evos?
CM7 had pretty good color controls I recall.
Without kernel support you are left doing really ugly screen tint hack apps like 'screen adjuster' or "filter your screen" which can only add color to everything (washing out blacks and killing battery)...

I will read into so prolly I can compare to our kernel. Since this is for mako (nexus4)
I'm right now in the procces of changing machines so I will need to set up my whole environment hope pretty soon we will get some good stuff going on.

Yes but works fine when I calibrate it for example from kernel adiutor with a custom kernel, but not with this mod in stock
Will this work for aosp extended rom?
So you say I can re calibrate my screen to get rid of the Ghost screen issue... Do you mean the Ghost touch? Because thats what I would use this for, when my phone goes to max brightness there are phantom touches, and heck it happens before it reaches max brightness. ITs annoying because I can't control my phone whatsoever when it happens and often have to reboot before I can turn down the brightness

No, those are different issues.
Ghost screen: image retention, usually happens when a image is displayed a long time, it will be being shown even if that image is not really there. [Has fix]
Ghost touch: erratic inputs usually on the top of the screen, like if someone were touching the screen repeteadly. [Hardware issue - NO fix]
100% effective for ghost screen issue.
Thanks Dev for providing this ultimate fix.:good::good::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed: I have tried color calibration on ex kernel manager and kernel auditor but both was not able to fix issue. Tried so many apps but no result.
I had searched on internet many times for a patch like this.
It solves the problem for me ,thanks . Btw can you make an app for screen calibration ?

7.0 lags whenever you reduce the blue light content! Only thing u can try is reduce the animation to 0.5x or turn the animation off...
how to delet this mod?

Setting custom color calibration with Root

I know there's an app, Oreo Coloriser, to force DCI-P3 color space. Can I do it natively assuming I have a rooted device with a custom kernel? Also, what settings for calibration is usually used? Thanks!

You'll probably get a dozen or so answers/opinions on this one! Personally, I use either Flash or Snoke kernel which facilitate the use of KCAL control using either the EXKM or Kernel Auditor apps, and then either use color profiles, or self experimental settings to adjust the colors to ones liking. It also appears that most users start from the saturated mode before adjusting the colors further :good:

Many have used the KCAL profiles from the nexus 6p without issues, me included. Here's some further insight as to what settings, and reasoning others have/are using :good:
