Anyone managed to get Tiger Arcade (Tiger MAME) working on a Nexus 7? It works fine on my HOX, so doubt it's a Tegra 3 thing.
Maybe Jelly Bean is the issue?
Cheers

Yeah mame4droid reloaded is better, a bit finicky to set up, but it's better!

Because although MAME4Droid is awesome, it doesn't play all the same stuff that Tiger does.
For example, it's not very good with CPS3 stuff like Street fighter III Third Strike.

I didn't know Tiger played CPS3 stuff!
Might have to look into it if Tiger starts working on JellyBean!
Although I just saw this on the Mame4Droid site!
MAME4droid Reloaded 1.1.1. Upgraded to MAME 0.139u1 to fix savestate problems with drivers using OKI audio. Enabled SH2 core, now works CPS3. Added speed hacks to make playable same games, accessible through MAME menu, pressing coin+start in game. Added force pixel aspect option. Some bug fixes.

Yeah, MAME4Droid can play CPS3 games, but it's a lot slower than Tiger. Guess it's because Tiger is based on a newer MAME version. (0.146?)

Tiger is supposed to be really good, hopefully it will get a jb update. The program loads fine it just does nothing when you click a ROM.
FWIW, MAME4Droid is playing nicely now with CPS3. I used the speed hacks mentioned above.

both mame4droid and mame4droid reloaded use very specific mame rom sets, mame4droid 0.37b5 and reloaded 0.139 but it also works with .134 .144 mmmm .146.. xD try all of them, I've been able to play almost all rooms I like BUT none of SFIII I just cant find the right roms...

Just follow the instructions for SFIII as if you were using a desktop version of MAME. There's a few tutorials out there on how to obtain the necessary files.
However, even when it's working I still can only get it up to about 90% normal speed with all of the speed hacks. Basically it's unusable if I want to challenge a few friends because the low framerate messes with the inputs. I wish Capcom would take notice and just release an official port, especially now that Ouya is getting a lot of attention.
Tiger arcade is not mame. Its a port of fba. And its optimized for speed. Instead of accuracy like mame.

edit: nevermind, problem fixed. For future reference, anyone getting garbled graphics followed by the game crashing near the beginning of the game should enable "Divide Counters"

it does work well. the only problem is getting the games to work. it only uses certain file formats so you aim to find roms already in those file formats.
the only game i have so far is command and conquer red alert. where do you guys find games that dont need to be modified much to work with psx4droid?
Version
What version of psx4 were you using? Iv got the lite version and the new 2.0 version. Some games play good in lite and some play better in 2
Wait for fpse, should be landing tonight hopefully and allegedly improves performance drastically.
Fpse is 100x better than psx4droid.

I have to agree, fpse has perfect performance on my DZ, and the compatibility is far better than psx4droid. I couldn't even get psx4droid to function properly running CM7.
So have you beaten ozma yet?...

Try N64oid with Super Mario 64, it works great on the Wave.
Have you tried N64 emu with Mario 64? Without sound it works so fast, but when I activate the sound, game loses speed and sound is choppy (on a Galaxy it works fine). Do you experiment the same ? Can be the sound driver? Maybe, it's not fully integrated.
@crazy4fun
i got it from a warez forum. i don't know if the emu is paid or not. Ofcourse i don't pay for apps @ this stage! And i don't know if i can post it here.
@NHS2008
ok too bad...now i have to wait atleast 1 year...(because i'm not the guy who needs a new phone every release...)
@tydem
Yep it woks pretty fine. Just tested the first level...Snes works great too and GBA also...
@lanluckez
i wil try this and give you a reply soon...
so thx you guys!
Your running Android from the Sdcard also
Android for wave runs from the SDcard rather from NAND rom so yes expect slowdowns.
Even Backstab, a gameloft 3d game which runs well on the wav 8500 with android has longer loading times compared to the galaxy s but once loaded it runs smoothly on the wave 8500.

I feel the touchscreen something like when we try to lock and its not responsive.
And its not accurate when I try to use Angry Birds.
Can you use it accuratelly? Are you using the same sources that ShadowAS1 posted or have you done something extra?

Just search on Google dude. PSX4DROID is free for timebeing!
No need to install games, just copy the images to any folder and select them through it to play. But you will need a BIOS file of PS1. It's called 'scph1001.bin'.
Let me guess...
The NDS emu is probably Desmume port which doesn't work much on other platforms other than PC
Some guys ported it to Wii and it hardly runs simple games and can't even run properly my homebrews, so don't expect much from emulator for now
However it is still developed, so I guess it will be good someday
@xda admins
we have already an android section here in this forum this topic should be removed/deleted or something else

Great to hear that PSX4Droid runs smooth.
Atm I'm using an PSX emu on my iPod touch 3G but it is a little bit to slow to run smooth so I put Android on my Wave soon too, to get the PSX emu
My son has a Xperia play, I was going to have a mess with an emulator on it "for old times sake"
It's not rooted or anything like that, is there a simple way to get an emulator working, not too technical and which is best?
Cheers
What console do you want to emulate?

Depends on what you want to emulate. FPSE is great for psx
sorry should have said
not sure really, whatever is the best, smoothest out there really?
I came from Commodore 64, Amiga, but anything really, I want to show my son some "classic" games from when I used to play, and maybe some newer ones, PS1 possible?
also as a side note, I currently have a HTC Sensation XE, wil these work on my phone or only the Xperia Play?
cheers
You can find Commodore 64, PS1, Gameboy & gameboy advance emulators that work on most phones. Just search for them on Google Play

another good emulator is MAME4droid
I don’t have a clue!
Dosbox turbo is a great port of Dosbox on android. Xperia Play optimized. I'm currently playing at wolf3d and Master of Orion 2 (steam and gog releases, respectively).
I'm after a particular game to work on my XE and sons Xperia play, am I allowed to name the game and ask which emulator is best for it please?
yes cause you can, fire away your just not allowed to post warez and where you got them from

Ok great do I need to get snesx9 them for lemmings 1 & 2? I thought they were on Amiga to though.
How's the control method? I'm hoping its touch, ie touch a climber icon, then touch a lemming?
snesx9 is free just search on google and yea they are on amiga to but its so much easier to get them working with the snes emulator
Can't find snesx9 on play store. Also forgot to say both my XE and sons Xperia Play are standard non rooted, not sure if this makes a difference?
I can find snesdroid, does it make a difference which emulator is used?
I mean search on google in your phones web browser u will find snes9x you can use snesdriod but the games lag ,non root will be fine

how is everyone finding n64oid on their nexus 7? in mario 64 the game is very smooth but every now and then it hands for a second or so and usually gets a little laggy before hanging.
Also tried fpse with metal gear solid and can get past the main menu. I had this problem before on my xperia play and just had to keep setting the bios but there is no menu button on the nexus 7 so can get to the correct menu. any ideas?
For me, n64oid is flawless. Try using a custom kernel like trinity. Overclocking the CPU and GPU makes a pretty big difference. Also try changing settings like disabling audio, disabling screen stretch and adjusting frame skip.

Aha! I did wonder why I couldnt find in Play Store but now I understand emulators are now banned from Play Store and also you can no longer download games directly through ROM gripper
Gonna d/l N64oid anyway and see if any lag with overclocked GlazedJB ROM. Hope not!
Thanks
Works great.
mario tennis is unplayable
I think if you're worried about 'lag', you should see how the game plays on a high specced pc - as far as I know, most N64 emulators have bugs with all sorts of games, and it depends on which file you're using to play the game, etc, so there is a solid chance it isn't down to the N7.
Hi there,
About 12 hours ago I installed FPSE from the Play Store. I staretd playing Spyro the Dragon and also FF7. On my google Nexus one, FPSE (Older version) worked perfect with FF7. On my SGS3 with the latest version of FPSE it seeeemmmmsss tooooo lllaaaaaggggggg, both video and sound. Sound is also very choppy. I have installed FPSE and the Roms on my phone inbuilt memory, maybe it needs to be put on my SD card to work better?
Is this happening with anybody else? I searched and found this and they seem to be having the same problem as me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692174&page=3
But that is in the Galaxy Nexus forum, not here the SGS3 forum. Is it the emulator, the phone or app? Is FPSE not optimized for SGS3? I am not rooted, have ICS and have the 16GB unlocked version.
Another problem im having is with the on screen directional joystick/controller/pad. When I move my character around (in either game) it stops as if my finger is no longer touching the direction it wants to go. Hard to explain sorry.
All help is greatly appreciated
***If this is in the wrong section, could somebody please move it to the correct one***
Have you tried playing around with settings? Try OpenGL emulation, I think I used that and it runs well, but try different settings and you should get it up and running well.

Cheers mate. Now using Psx4Droid and works fine with FF7 unlike Fpse.
It's because of FPSe. I remember a very old version which worked flawlessly with FF7 (which is a pain in the rear to emulate) on most hardware while the newer versions of FPSe breaks FF7.
