Hello Guys,
I have a Question:
I want to OverClock my Galaxy Wonder. I was an Bionic Cow 2 (OC) and I liked the Speed..!
But there was a Green kinda "Flare" on the left + right Side. This was really annoying me.
Plus it crashed some times...
So I flashed back to RebelRom.
It's my favourite Rom; very Stable (never crashed so far, but kinda slow. So thats why I want to Overclock it.
I used to download alot of Tools in the Play Store, but all the Widgets, Apps etc. go till 1,4GhZ. But since the Galaxy W has 1,4GhZ from Stock, it' no Overclocking..!
Is there any possibility ?
I searched alot on the Internet, and all I found were Answers like; "Go and Flash the Bionic Cow..." etc.
So I decided to ask over here, and hope for a good answer.
Anyone knows how..?
Greetz, Busted.
Hey, i wouldn't advice overclocking since 1.4 ghz is pretty much, i think that you would gain waaaay more speed by suoercharging, have you considered using v6 suprercharger script? If you dont know what it is look it up on xda

Root it, flash a custom kernel like netarchys and OC it..
I'm calling BS on overclocking to 2100mhz... I have serious doubts that the hummingbird processor can handle a 110% OC

Its called Cyanogen Mod. Add the snap 7.6 turbo kernel. I was getting closer to 3000 on quadrant on it. Best was 2910. Its a beast. I just love sense too much, soooo much prettier and more functional. Go enjoy some CNMOD

With CM6 4G isnt working but wifi works fine. With most the roms now everything works. If something doesnt work its it will be in the OP of that rom thread.
Also I read over at the CM forum what they are doing with the Epic is a some sorta lag switch turn off. Its has nothing to do with over clocking the phone yet. I have seen those numbers before with the Epic.

Hopefully this leads to a 2.3 root solution.
Working fine so far. Maxed it out and ran stress test for about five minutes and all is well. Any chance of getting the other schedulers and scaling types in the future? Just want the best performance and best screen off battery savings. Great work though. I was hoping a dev work run with the source for sense once it was out(sort of apperently)

No, you will have to wait for a kernel dev to tackle it, or do it yourself. I am not a kernel dev, and this was more or less a test to see if we could get it compiling (since it was missing files from source).
Hmmm....whenever i finally get my inc2 rooted, if ever, im gonna hopefully use this.

got a hard lock simply typing a text message on google voice. maybe my DINC2 can't handle 1.6 ghz.
Thought i was alone with rhe lock up. Had to go back to stock kernel until i better understand how work with overclocking.
Edit: reinstalled this kernel. This time i also installed Setcpu. All it well and right once again. It appears as though my dev doesn't like running at 1650 but is happy at about 1350. Will see how it goes. May tweak it more.
Don;t clock to 1.6ghz then
Does this disable perflock? I have no clue about sense kernels I'm just wondering if I can use things like Juicedefender to regulate clock speeds without having to rely on SetCPU unlock it on every boot.
Installed this and no my wifi doesn't work I will keep playing with it, but it will not let me connect to my wep network.

Ok, so im using Juggernaut 4.1 Rom and wanted to know what the best settings are to use for overclocking? Im Using AnTuTu CPU Master Pro 2.3 to do it. What are the best default setting, charging, screen off settings/profiles to use? Don't want any issues and good battery life! Any suggestions would be great! Thanks a million!

If your on Juggernaut, the bullet kernel is already included and overclocks to 1.67ghz . Unless you know more about kernels than team kang, I'd leave the setting as is.

There's no best setting for every phone. Not all phones are equal. So if you can overclock to 1.8 and your phone is stable, then go for it. Your best bet is to experiment and see what works for you. Just be aware the higher the overclock the worse your battery life will be.

Use an app like Faux clock or SetCPU. Honestly though, I'm using juggernaut 4.1 and I underclock it to 1.2ghz. Everything runs amazingly well still and the battery life is great.

Do a little research before flaming people. Bullet runs below 1.8ghz because that speed level is stressful for the phone and results in no added improvement.
If an experienced developer builds something you don't have a clue about, why would you want to change their settings?

Just wondering if anyone was overclocking your phones while using ICS?
i have tried many ROMS and Kernals posted by you all, been doing alot of underclocking mainly, but just was curious as if there was a way to overclock using any of the kernals....
i DO realize that alot of people would rather underclock to save batt...including myself. just was curious and willing to try it out....
any pointers or apps avail?
thanx!

You can overclock and undervolt with tegrak. I don't do too much overclocking as it is kind of pointless with the chip we have. But I use tegrak to under volt.
oh... well thanx for the replies.. i guess ill wait till the codes come out.. i was using teragat when i had GB..
seems like overclocking would make sence wih ics considering its being released on higher powered phones. just seemed like if i overclocked at 1.4ghz and chose a handy set of tweeks for one of the devs, then any and all lags and microsec freezes would go away...
anyways.. thanx again...

I overclocked my ICS to 1.4GHz. That is the highest it will go without having to start bumping up the voltage. The highest I got it to was 1.8GHz with voltage increases. Anything higher than 1.4 requires me to over volt the phone and thus eats battery fast. I settled on 1.4 and a good trade off for speed and battery life. If I plan on being out away from a charger I can use Teragat to under clock my phone to get maximum battery life.

Hi, I just got a Note 2 and rooted it. I'm new to Android (just switched from iPhone) and I was wondering if there is any way to Overclock the AT&T Note 2. I just figured out how to get new ROMs onto the phone so I got the Jedi one. Sorry if this is in the wrong place in the forums, I didn't know where to put it, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Android. You are in exactly the right place to ask general questions. If you have a ROM specific question, you should go to the Q&A thread for that ROM.
As far as your question regarding overclocking the NII, you have to have source before anyone can add overclocking to the kernel. I believe there is source for Ice Cream Sandwich, but none yet for Jelly Bean. If you feel the need to overclock, then you should try an ICS ROM. I personally have not felt the need to overclock the NII. It has always been plenty fast for anything I've done. But I don't play games, so I don't know how it runs them.

Here are two methods.
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001936
Flash it onto your note 2 in CWM recovery. Choose which overclock suits you the best. Use system tuner app from play store to change GHz of processor after you flash one of those kernals.
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983658
This one is the most popular, its extremely stable. Overclocks your CPU to 1.8 GHz. Use system tuner app from play store to change GHz of CPU after you flash this kernal.
If you have questions, do ask!
Please keep in mind that overclocking is an art. Two devices with the same hardware might not overclock the same. One might go up to 2ghz while another might only make it up to 1.7. Start slow and make sure it is running stable before increasing the overclock. Use small increments. Also one kernel might not overclock the same as another. Good luck and have fun!

I have seen 2.1 up to 2.3. 2.1 is publicly available.
If I overclocked it to 2.1 would my antutu scores be better than when it's only at 1.8? Cuz I got 19937 on antutu on 1.8ghz. Also, thanks for all of your input into this thread.
And where could I find the kernel to let me over clock to 2.1ghz?
I really wouldn't ever go above 1.5GHz on a quad-core phone... are you gonna feel a difference between 20k and 18k when it comes to real world performance? Seriously doubt it. My optimus G was at 20k when I first opened it, its sitting at 17k now. No difference at all in real world terms. All you're doing is cooking your CPU. Please. Don't go over 2GHz.. and if you do, you should be able to start cooking eggs on your phone real soon.
