->Noob<- Jellybean stuck at bootloader screen? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey guys, I am sort of new to this but I will try to explain the best.
I got my friend to Root and to rom my phone, I thought he was going to show me but he didn't want to for some reason..
anyways, I have all the necessary applications and things and I know how to backup/restore. I can follow instructions but I have a few questions.
I do have franco kernel and I don't think it works with Paranoid Android right now ( what I'm using ).
I wanted to try another rom, I got various roms, factory reset, wipe cache, and dalvik cache and then installed.
I still get stuck at bootloader screen. I guess I should have just done this myself the first time instead of relying on him..
anyways, I'm a bit lost so if there's any way to get around this to upgrade to JB I want to do that.
Anyone have any suggestions or a faq somewhere?
Thanks a lot.

Word around here is not to use franco . Try another kernel. Try the stick one to see if that fixes it.

Hey thanks for the response!
How do you go back to that? I have been looking around for that but couldn't figure it out.

Do another clean wipe and download a ROM with a stock kernel

Franco Kernel + JB works fine..... don't make assumptions without proof. It used to not work with CM10 but is now fixed.

My point exactly. I was just reporting what I was reading and had tried myself.

It takes a LOOOOOOOONG time to pass the boatloader, give it time.
Like 5-8 min just at the screen.

These apps have nothing to do with roms its the apps themselves. They have to be updated by their developers.

[Q] ViciousMIUI-V4 bug or purpose?

Hey guys!
I just downloaded ViciousMIUI and installed on to my GNex, first the contacts app kept on crashing (Android.Process.Acore) but we all know how to fix that...
And then I noticied, that my on-screen controls had gone... I'm currently restoring my codename Android ROM, so I have got enough time to ask, if anyone else has had this problem with this ROM, or is it just my phone, again...
I would appreciate quick answers...

Can't have been a bad dl... I downloaded using ROM Manager....
That's why I'm asking... I always dl my ROMs using ROM Manager, or with FF... And I have never had problems before...
Don't use ROM Manager - it's ****. Download it from the ROM thread, compare the md5 and flash it yourself. Don't rely on an app
Have you tried wiping everything and installing again. Sometimes all it need is flashing again for an error free rom

Yeah and that link brought a **** load of ****! Buttons still not there, flashed it 5 times!!!! Pissed off, the only way I can use my phone, is by rebooting it, after I have exited an app... -.-" Seriously pissed off now! And this goes to any/everyone who is going to promote anything different than XDA:" **** YOU!"
Guess what I can do now... Reboot my phone, reinstall CND, flash the franco kernel again and why? Becuase this **** load of **** ROM doesn't work, like it should...

It has nothing to do with being on contract. Basicly it is one if these options:
1) Bad download. This CAN happen from ROM manager also.
2) You messed up the install, you said something about messing with SystemUI so that may have been it.
3) Your phone is borked.....not likely at all.
My bet is 1 or 2.

[Q] P.A.C Man Rom & underclocking??

Hello, idk if I'm posting in the right area so please forgive me for any mistakes i made but i have two questions if anyone would kindly answer for me. I recently installed P.A.C Man Rom and for the most part i love it, the only problem i seem to get is the battery life drains pretty quickly & the phone gets a little warm when the screen is on. I don't know if that's normal but I'm wondering if i underclock it would that possibly fix my two problems I'm having and if so could anyone recommend what i should set it to and which is the best governor to use.
Thank You in advance for your guy's help with my newbie questions lol
You could try another kernal but it won't help cause we don't know what exactly your battery is.
I suggest going on Google and type, "Betterbatterystats xda" on Google and download the latest version. It's an app that tells you about your battery usage in depth so you will see what exactly is killing your battery.
Did you just flash the rom? If you did, wait a few days for everything to settle down. Battery should get better as a day or two progress.
I suggest taking a look at these threads. Plenty of great advice and tips for you to read.

Aldo check your baseband. If you are currently on MD5, try using the LJC modem. A few people have reported similar things when using this baseband with CM/AOSP based roms.

well am gona try this ...which rom are you currently running? am on liquid smooth 2.10 jelly bean and it just rebooted 10mins ago..
here is my phone's information...
Phone Reboots
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 running the latest nightly of CM 10.2. I have been constantly updating the nightlies and several times I have factory reset (wiped the cache, delvik cache, the system, data, internal storage, and reformatted everything) my phone and it is still constantly rebooting. I cannot figure out what is causing it either.
i dont think its the roms because i've tried so many CM 1.3 STABLE , CM 10.2 amongst other roms and still getting the reboots..{Feeling frustrated}

I'm going to try a stable CM 10.1 and see if it reboots.
Couldn't flash a stable version of 10.1. I wiped the cache, system, and delvik cache, then flashed the rom, but it wouldn't boot. It just stayed on the Cyanogenmod boot up screen.
Its the same thing, i've tried the stable version(CM 1.3) already and it's the same thing...
And if your stuck on cm boot screen simply reboot back to recovery mode and wipe cache and reboot system and it shud boot up normally...

Well let me know if you figure anything out. It's getting really annoying. I don't know if it's a Cyanogenmod thing or what. I'm really happy with CM when it works and it's been great for me on other devices in the past.

I had the power button issue and sent it into Samsung to be fixed 2 weeks ago. I have had the phone since July 2012 and it was still under warranty. Try lightly wiping your hand across the button and if the phone reacts that's the problem or if it reboots a lot when you are using the button often. Taking the case off seemed to help a little. It was a free repair and they had it back in 6 business days.
