Hello, idk if I'm posting in the right area so please forgive me for any mistakes i made but i have two questions if anyone would kindly answer for me. I recently installed P.A.C Man Rom and for the most part i love it, the only problem i seem to get is the battery life drains pretty quickly & the phone gets a little warm when the screen is on. I don't know if that's normal but I'm wondering if i underclock it would that possibly fix my two problems I'm having and if so could anyone recommend what i should set it to and which is the best governor to use.
Thank You in advance for your guy's help with my newbie questions lol
You could try another kernal but it won't help cause we don't know what exactly your battery is.
I suggest going on Google and type, "Betterbatterystats xda" on Google and download the latest version. It's an app that tells you about your battery usage in depth so you will see what exactly is killing your battery.
Did you just flash the rom? If you did, wait a few days for everything to settle down. Battery should get better as a day or two progress.
I suggest taking a look at these threads. Plenty of great advice and tips for you to read.

Aldo check your baseband. If you are currently on MD5, try using the LJC modem. A few people have reported similar things when using this baseband with CM/AOSP based roms.

You do have a playstore right? If I'm not mistaken you need to flash gapps after pacman to get the playstore.

I just came from the Nokia n900 and having so many things working on the phone is a refreshing change! Ive lurked around and read a lot! As a result ive succesfully rooted my phone and have even tried out a few custom roms! However I have a question about a ROM im currently using but I cant post in the dev forum yet so I figured ill try here. Im currently using the digital warfare ROM and ive noticed that my powersave feature does not seem to work correctly. It will kick in regardless of the battery percentage I set. So ive just left it off for now. can someone help?

First I want to give you huge props for actually reading and doing all that on your own instead of posting a ton of useless threads with questions that can easily be found! But to answer your question, the My Account app has its own power save feature, try going into that app and adjusting it from there or just disabling it all together. Hope this helps.

oh man it was really easy compared to what i had to deal with using the n900! well for now i suppose ill just disable it. thanks!

Just disable the power saver in the my account app and use the power saver settings built into the phone, that's what I do.

Welcome to the family.
This phone is pretty beast, and it will only get better.
Thanks! I can tell! making the transition from hw Kb to all touch is kinda weird but this.phone is so capable and powerful its awesome!
Welcome dude and yea i would just disable this phone is great with battery life anyways. One suggestion tho i would freeze tmobile my account all together in titanium backup or uninstall it tgats if u have it installed it actually messes with wifi. When your on wifi it will turn on 4g signal whenever data is requested which isnt good cuz u think ur using wifi the whole time. Ever since ive disabled tgat app i have not had a problem with wifi or 4g service. I actually think its a way for tmobile to snoop on our data. I made a thread about this and other people have confirmed this app to be the culprit. I actually was gonna take my phone back because i couldnt get wifi to stay connected so thats when i started investigating and found this
Hmm I like to keep track of my data usage but if thats the case away it goes!

No im running at stock speeds
It's not unusual for a phone to get warm when running cpu/gpu intensive processes like games. It only becomes a problem when it gets incredibly hot and forces the phone to reboot or the battery gets too hot to touch.
#932# for data

Thanks. now i'm having a new problem. My phone will just randomly shut off and I cant turn it back on until I pull the battery. It has happened twice so far
is your phone hot when this happens? try darksides kernel. haven't had an issue.

not hot. i just flashed his new rom/kernel combo with a clean wipe and as i was messing around with milocker it did it again. just shut off on me. only way to bring it back is to pull the battery. very strange.
You using a new ROM? I know you said new ROM/kernel combo but that could imply same ROM new, kernel. If youre on the same ROM, check the thread to see if its an issue with it I guess. Could always try a new one and see if that fixes it. Let us know if you find out anything.

I use 3G Watchdog. It's available in the market. Has a nice little widget as well.
I am running aerovan's cm 10-20121003 with 2.6.35.14 ae14 kernel and radio 1.09.01.0622 I've got between -83 and -95 dBm signal strength when I check. I ask you guys, who I consider experts compared to me, if there is any reason for me to flash a different radio. If the answer is yes then a suggested radio would be a welcome addition to your answer. Oh and thanks in advance.

Yeah, you can always flash back. It's easy. Rename it, put it on root of sd, reboot into bootloader and let it do its thing. Be sure to rename again and put it somewhere else or delete it once you are done. Otherwise anytime you boot into bootloader it will try to flash again, which some say is bad. If you don't know how to do it, check the stickies.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
I'm great at reading stickies. I was just wanting to know what the benefits of flashing a new radio really were. Like I said I'm pulling good service. I was just trying to figure out the benefit vs. potential risks of flashing a radio. It does seem like the risk is relatively low, but I really haven't seen the benefit side of it.

The reason we say try and see is because benefit varies. Some don't notice any. I'm not sure I do. Others see better battery, signal, performance, ect. Nothing about this phone is consistent for everyone. One person swears a rom is flawless and another can't get it to boot. If you think your phone performs well enough I would not bother.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda app-developers app
I did end up updating the radio. I haven't seen any noticeable change. So for me it was pointless from a performance stand point, but from the experience stand point it was worth it. The slight moment of panic when the phone doesn't make it past the splash screen before all of the different advice from what I've read on the forums kick in and I go into recovery and wipe the delvak which I had forgotten and the cache and everything booted up great.

So I've been searching everywhere but I can't seem to find anything about it for LGOG, how do you flash a custom kernel? I found some methods for other phones but I'm afraid to try them because I don't know of its the same method required for the LGOG. Thank you, now its time to flash this *****! Hopefully it'll give me a bit of a performance/battery life increase. I also read something in another thread mentioning the connections optimizer I believe? I couldn't find it again, but it said deleting/uninstalling/freezing that and another similar app would improve download speed and battery life but it wasn't very detailed nor could I find them when I searched through everything in my file explorer. I also didn't want to delete anything that sounded that important without knowing for sure because I surely can't afford to brick my phone

I have CR ATT SE 3.0 and it really has quite a few annoying issues. I'd like to switch ROMs. I don't care if it's AOSP or modified stock ROM. I just want it to be relatively bug free and good for at least a couple months without having to do another big ROM switch.
Also if it's AOSP someone will have to bring me up to speed on how to get over to it from stock 4.1.2. I don't think it's just a simple wipe and flash.

If you're on Clean Rom then you might want to stick to a TW based Rom. You can just move to the most recent Clean Romthat's out..
That way you shouldn't run into any issues with it.
But there are also a lot of good AOSP Rom out there if you really have to install one. Just check the one stop shop for your Rom needs!!
Edit: just noticed the title of your thread. I'm using Skynote which is great for long term use.. haven't flashed anything else since

Someone is trying to help you on a thread that will be closed anyway and your getting mad? Read the different threads of roms that interest you, or at least the last couple of pages to see what issues people are having. What you may think is a bug, someone else may never have a problem. Hello, I have the T-Mobile (SGH-T889) Note 2, and I flashed version 3.99 of ParanoidAndroid ROM from Galaxy Note 2 root.com, a few weeks back. While I love the features, I am having a few issues with it.
1. It’ll randomly reboot the phone.
2. A lot of times, the System UI will force close, along with a few other apps.
3. Someone else mentioned the slow typing, I am also experiencing this problem. It just cannot simply keep up.
4. The sound is VERY LOW. On any and everything, and at the maximum volume setting despite it being low, there is a lot of distortion in the speaker.
5. It’ll tell me that y SD card is damaged one day, but then it’s not the next and I still have all my files.
Other than these 5 issues, I love this ROM. I don’t know if I flashed it the wrong way but, it’s getting aggravating and making me wish that I never left the TouchWIZ ROM I previously had.
Also, I just noticed that in the section About Phone, it says GT-N7105. I don't know how that may have happened, or if that may be the issue.
Hopefully someone can assist me in getting this issue resolved. Thanks in advance.
Switch to neak kernel to fix the sound and see if the others go away at the same time. most those should be fixed with a different kernel
