i need help!!!!! - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

my idiot brother flashed the galaxy s2 firmware or bootloader on my cousins epic 4g touch and now odin wont recognize it at all. only way i can get it into download mode is through adb reboot download through cmd. anyway i can flash back a epic 4g touch firmware or bootloader? or do i have to call sprint and get a replacement?

If memory serves, a lot of people made that mistake when the phone first launched. Unfortunately, it looks like you're going to have to call sprint for replacement and play dumb.
I'm open to being corrected though

If you can get into download mode, or even ADB for that matter, afaik you should be able to Odin back. What's the worst that can happen? It kills your dog?

If you can get it into download mode try to send an Odin one click, see what happens

I had drivers on my computer for it and I reinstalled them to make sure. Think using drivers for international sgs2 would work?

I had that happen to me before. I deleted all drivers on my pc and then re installed. Worked with Odin one click.

I cant boot into recovery that way or through quickboot. Its like its not installed. I've booted into recovery previously whenbi had this phone rooted so I know how
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Do you HAVE a recovery? If nothing is working, I sure hope you have ADB because that's all I can think of.
connect your phone to your PC
open the command prompt (anywhere is fine, you're not moving files)
run [adb devices]
check for your device. (make sure your phone has "USB Debugging" checked)
run [adb reboot recovery]
That WILL reboot the phone into recovery. If it doesn't, then my only guess will be to flash a recovery into your phone. You can actually try doing that now before ADB, if you want.

[Q] ODIN back to stock now.. nothing

I was following the forum below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321811
to get my rooted stock Tmobile Galaxy S2 back to un-rooted stock so i could update to the OTA update as i need the wifi.
Upon following the first ODIN command i got a failed and so i unpluged the phone and tried to re-ODIN and all it would do is stay at connecing or something similar.
I pulled the battery and tried to enter download mode again and I am unable to turn the phone on or enter download mode.
Ideas?
when i change the usb cable to a different plug on PC the PC then will attempt to install driver but the phone never show the download screen and the PC says unalbe to install driver.

Seeking stock zip for t989 flashable through CWM ( I lost DL mode)

I am having a lot of trouble with an issue I have seen some other t989 users encounter. My pc will not recognize my phone....and Im not able to get into download mode. Right now Im running Miui 2.6.8 because its all I could push through CWM. If anyone knows of a stock zip I can save on to my sd and install through CWM that would be great. I can charge my phone just fine. But I cant find a computer to recognize it...nothing has worked. AND I CANT GET DOWNLOAD MODE to odin the stock roms available. If anyone has any advice about that, it would also be helpful.

[SOLVED!!] Accidentally flashed GT-i9100 bootloader...

Like an IDIOT I accidentally Odin'd the international (GT-i9100) bootloader over the stock/rooted FH13. The phone works but in download mode Odin does not recognize. I've tried everything I could read others have tried (drivers, etc) but no joy. Does anyone have any suggestions or am I out of the Odin business permanently?
Thanks.
I remember hearing of someone else doing this before as well and I think I remember the only thing they could do was send it off to have the flash reprogrammed via jtag. My suggestion is find a rom you like. Flash it and stay put. Can't risk a soft brick.

If I recall correctly times_infinity posted how to flash the bootloader using adb / terminal, but don't quote me on that.

Doesn't the international boot loader make the USB port on our phone not work anymore? Which is why when you go to Odin mode, a computer won't recognize it? That's what I remember

Even if usb wasn't working you should be able to copy the bootloader into the phone and run a terminal emulator to run the command from the phone. But there is a how to specifically for this issue somewhere.

Ok try this. If your computer can see the phone booted up there its no reason why download shouldn't see it. Uninstall your drivers. Download the drivers from Samsung again. Install them. Put your phone in download mode. Connect to pc. Let drivers get loaded completely. Unplug phone from pc. Plug phone back to pc. Open Odin. See if it gives you a com port. Report back the result.

Thanks. I've tried this but when I'm in download mode my phone is not recognized at all (by neither the computer nor Odin).
I was mistake this was about the kernel, not the boot loader. Regardless here's the link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29843206&postcount=23
Then you might be out of luck. I am not sure you can fix it without Odin. Here is a bootloader if you get Odin working. If you didn't try all of the steps I posted please do it again. Also switch cables even though it works for other functions.

Thanks. Yes, I found that. I've been reading about this all day and I think I can safely say that I am not going to be able to undo this without sending my phone for the Jtag. Luckily My phone still operates normally, I just won't be able to flash anything by Odin and when my phone boots it says it's a GT-i9100. I did find a good thread about this for anyone else in the same boat:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816931&highlight=wrong+bootloader
In the end, this is what I get for getting careless. Totally my fault.
Wouldn't flashing the whole thing with Mobile ODIN work?
I mean a whole .tar ROM

Bricked? Think I flashed the wrong boot image

I believe I flashed the wrong boot image in odin. my sprint epic4g touch is now giving me a yellow triangle with gt-9i100 model number displaying. i have tried all the triangle removal threads but nothing helps. I think I need to send it off to the JIG folks who do the $50 repair. Thoughts?

yes, it boots to the yellow triangle screen only. no further. Problem is it is recognized in odin at that screen, and not in the typical odin download mode screen.

But it is strange. I am really curious to see what would happen if odin restore is started when phone is recognized at that triangle screen.

Yeah flashing the wrong bootloader is the one surefire way to brick this phone, not counting the emmc brick. You're gonna need JTAG and yeah mobiletechvideos is the way to go. They should get you back up and running for 50 bucks.

Since Odin picks up the phone see if adb will recognize the phone.
Also try kies. The emergency recovery or firmware update thing. Can't remember exactly what it is called.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
If it's the wrong bootloader I think Kies will recognize it as the international version. Emergency recovery wouldn't work.
