Hey guys is there any way to set a reminder to but put in the calendar for a specific date ?

I came here to ask this. Every time I try it simply wants to set an Alarm, and it looks like it is not possible at this point. It will not even set a day of the week for it to go.
Looks like this is about the only thing Siri has on Google Now at this point.

I told it to set a reminder and it didn't work, I was wondering why. Alarms don't sync to Google like reminders. Damn nightlies.

Reminders should open up the calendar and set it up for you

Reminder work around
You can set a reminder by sending a text to your calendar. Add Calendar (48368) as a contact. Then you can tell Google Now to send a text to Calendar:
ex: "Text Calendar wash the car at 2pm on Friday"
Calendar will reply to the text that the appointment has been set.
^Crazy awesome, I had no idea. Thanks.

Cool, but I don't have unlimited texts. Hopefully Google will fix this with an update soon.

Not sure how this works. Is there a special way to add the calendar as a contact? when I do it and try to send a text to the calendar it just brings up Google Search.
So when I go into into Google Now and hit the menu button at the bottom there's an option for "set reminder" then it puts "add reminder" in the search box and takes me to the screen for a reminder. From there I'm given the options "Today", "Tomorrow", and "Set Date". Is that not there for you guys?

This is an old thread. The reminder feature was added in a more recent update.
Related
I set the reminder to either notifincation bar or alarm and neither one actually works.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
EDIT:
See post #6 for the fixings.
Same problem here. This is killing me as I use this function constantly. I am not getting notified on gmail calendar or exchange calendar.

Setting up calendar events actually works. I just tested it - a popup does occur in desktop calendar when I set it through the phone.
But absolutely nothing happens on the phone itself.
Is it like that for you too?
Yep, same thing here.
Does anyone know of any widget style calendar app which can force notification/alert for upcoming calendar events independently from the built-in android version (which obviously doesn't work on this phone)?
I started using the free Calendar Snooze from the market on my Evo, mainly because the Evo didn't have (or I couldn't find) a built in snooze, and it works well on the E4GT too. It's very configurable, gives a full screen notification, and will even use text to voice, if you want it to.

Thanks, I am trying it now.
Calendar Snooze works just like I want.
Perfect.
I just asked in IRC, and people said their alerts were working just fine.
I wonder if it's a common app me and gfsnic have...
Right now, I can only think of one calendar related app I have installed - Simple Calendar Widget...
Works fine for me. But the alerts I use were set up within the calendar app on the phone. Are you guys setting the alerts on the web?

No, from the phone.
Hey guys I'm on Jellybean and this being my first smartphone, I'm not sure how to go about this. I have seen people with iPhone get notifications (popups) when they have an upcoming event.
Is there a way to do that with the galaxy nexus?
I dont want a changing color LED or a ringtone, just a popup on screen near the time of the event. If not a pop-up, just something at the notification bar. Thanks
When creating / editing event, scroll towards bottom and you have option to set a reminder and timescale for the reminder(s). Can have notifications on phone and/or an email reminder

Notifications/reminders as in "Pick up milk and eggs" or "call xyz at 7pm"? Grab a tasking app like Astrid (it's free from the play store) and it will do exactly that (and much more if you want it to)

You can set reminders in the form of an alarm from Google now.
For example: if you say "remind me to pick up dinner at 5pm" it will set an alarm with the tag "pick up dinner" for 5pm
calendar snooze is an excellent must have addition to the stock calendar. Its excellent.
No way i can view my sub-folder in Exchange with stock email. Enhanced Email shows but Enhanced Email can't sync calender with stock Calender in Jelly Bean.
I don't have this problem when i was with Note 1 ICS. Jelly Bean problem.
there is you have to click the folder icon it will then drop down.

Nope. When I click on show all folders there's no way to see sub folders in the inbox. I have half a dozen client folders in my inbox, and the server sorts new mail into them. The crappy part is I can see them when I go into the folder settings....
Yes it does work

if you haven't done so already, tap the sub-folder you want to sync and use Menu-Sync options to set the sync options; e.g., Peak, Off-peak and Period to Sync Email. it's true they won't appear in your top level inbox, but you should be notified via the notification window. that's the way it works for me. from the notification window, you click the email and it will take you to the folder. i use this setup on my Junk E-Mail folder due to our company's strict filtering process. hope this helps!
EDIT: added screenshot of menu options.
Exchange question, how can I access the contacts that are in Exchange. For example is their a Global Address Seach?

the only way is to click in the to field in email. if you just start typing names they will auto fill
Is there a way to show new email - notification # of new email in sub folders (ex 1 or 2) instead of showing all email # in there?

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I set up my outlook.com email address in the Note 2's buult-in Email program and added the widget to my desktop. Normally, when you click the top left corner of email widgets, it takes you to your inbox (gmail widget works this way). However when I click that spot on the Note 2's mail widget, instead of taking me to my inbox, it just toggles views between my inbox and "combined inbox". Is there some way to disable combined inbox, or some other place on the widget to click to be taken to your inbox?
Thanks!
Pinny

Is there a way to add my wife's calendar to my Google calendar???
Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
If she is using Google Calendar then try this.... It will have to be done from her calendar.
In the calendar list on the left side of the page, click the down-arrow button next to a calendar, then select "Share this calendar" .
Enter the email address of the person you want to share your calendar with.
From the drop-down menu on the right side, select a level of permission, then click "Add Person" . Click "Save".
Once you click "Save" , the person you selected to share the calendar with will receive an email invitation to view your calendar.
You will need to click on the link contained in the email to add the calendar to your "Other" calendars list, the calendar will not be automatically added to the your Calendar account.
There are some permissions you can set like whether they can edit the calendar and such.
