OLED on the S2 is awesome but the because its "+" the blue materials decay almost 5x faster, meaning color balance issues and burn-in. But wut about a pure black theme with yellow instead of white for letters(or just green, but only 1 sub pixel is twice as grainy as 2)and red for dividing lines? May not sound pretty, but I would appreciate it for my galaxy s, and used S2 owners would appreciate it the most by improving the screen longevity on one of the sexiest phones released.

+1 to your request.. I was using a sense 4.0 inspired theme, very bright colors.. The other day I just checked the phone in Test Mode, to my horror the status bar had burnt in.!!
I checked my warranty, had 27 days remaining so got the display unit replaced.. I dont want this one to go bad in 11 months..
Hence, I request too..!!!

Even tho i agree with your request and +1 for it, you should try screen adjuster from the market.
Ofc it doesn't save your screen colours but definately makes it look as it should with the right settings.

Well i have pretty sensitive eyes and using my galaxy at night hurts my eyes. Today i came across screen fader. Now Im using it at around 20% which is good. The colors are really faded but i dont mind much. Anyways my question is that will this damage my cell phones screen cause everything is pretty faded. Thanks

The screen doesn't take any damage at all from dimming. Super amoled screens have a more limited lifetime than lcds beacause they are made from organic materials. Dimming your screen further than the standard screen settings lets you go is actually a great way to preserving your screen.
No worries.

This app lets you adjust the RGB values of your screen. I used Red +16, Green +10 and Blue +0. It looks so much better now.

Many people complain about this with the SAMOLED displays. Maybe it's worse on some devices than others.
Here is a sample of other people complaining and you can also see some side-by-side comparisons with other devices.

That sounds really helpful, thanks.
Thanks! I've been looking for something like this!
Edit: what settings are you using? I've been playing around for a few minutes trying to color match to my macbook and I can't get it quite right. (r+18 b0 g0 is the closest I've gotten).
Seems to make my phone lag some
Also curious to know what Color Your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is.
Why did you choose that particular color?!; mention in this thread!
Thanks!

Other: Infrared.
I can see slightly into the infrared spectrum, which is useful because only I can see my Note II; to everyone else, it's just shimmering heat waves and a screen!
Mine is hooloovoo.

This is the 21st century...why should colour matter?
Judge not by the colour of its case but by the content of its specs sheet.

Well, i was thinking of white.. then when i got them both hands on, i preferred gray.. Then again, when i went into shop, they had only white (and i couldnt wait of course, i was already sick of waiting for Nexus 4 bullcrap), then i bought white...
And then, my friend bought gray 2 weeks ago.. And i was much more satisfied with the white one... Dont know why... Its a personal matter anyway

Does it really matter at all? 2 colors from which to choose. Not a lot of variance on answers.

Hello, I have been having the same issue with my screen on my Galaxy SIII since I bought my first one last february, what is causing it and what is it?
Pictures below, it has just started to develop on this my 4th SIII that of which was a BNIB not one of those replacement ones which my last two replacements were.
Photos below..
The circles start out hardly visible and progress getting darker eventually I have a row of up to 5.

I don't see anything I wouldn't expect to see.
Edit: I see them now. It's like one of those pictures you have to stare at to see the image.
I see them, and yeah that would be pretty annoying. Are you using a particular background, or playing a certain game for an extended amount of time that could be causing those to "burn" into the display? Anything along that line of thought?
Is that only noticeable on light background colors or does it get darker with a darker background color?
------------------------------------
If it was easy you'd of hired the guy at Home Depot to to it.
It's definitely a game or something causing this. Or background as the above user mentioned. Only issue that's common throughout all of the s3 devices are the ink blots. That circling is really strange. I'm putting my money on it being caused by some sort of burn in from the same image being displayed for too long.

I don't see anything, even if there were something minor you returned 4 galaxy siii because of that?
I once heard a story about a boy after returning five phones for the same issue that was so minor, his mother took him to a psychologist about his perfectionism disorder. (Nothing to do with you, just a funny story)

It only starts getting darker and darker and more noticeable. It starts only being noticeable on white to gray screens then on all screens.
I do not use or have any backgrounds or games which have that design.
Would you pay the same amount for an SIII if you saw defects on the screen?
I pay for the warranty so I will make sure my phone is in prestine condition if ever I decide to sell it.

Thanks for the advice but that's not my problem. My problem is I think my screen may be going out. Every so often it will have a weird blue/off colored fragmentation on the screen. Its similar to the old upside down 10.1 issue but its not that. Its kinda hard to explain.

These are amoled displays and with amoled displays after say 3 years of use you get something called "burn in" which make the blue LED lights get dim and dimmer over time which causes the screen to have an off look. You cau can prevent this by keeping your phone on low brightness and changing the screen style to "movie" which reduces the saturation of the colors. Even high end devices like the Note 2 will be eventually affected by this

Didn't know that, I'm moving on to the s4 so I'll be wary of this issue.
