Quest for a worthy case

Ive read all the case reviews and posts and have to say I have yet to find anything impressive. The ebay cases really dont do any justice to the phone and everything at the T-Mobile store either doubles the thickness or is pastel colors. Im hoping an Otterbox Commuter comes sooner than later.
The only case that actually does the phone justice that I found is the Speck Hard Shell case. i tried it on today just to check fitment and it lives up to Speck quality. Unfortunately the case looks to be made only for TMobile as it is not on the spec site. The case fitment was perfect and a very slim design. grip was great and it made the phone actually feel like a phone and not just a screen floating in your hand. Snapped together firmly and all cutouts were exact.
Amazing Case, The only problem is its friggin Purple. Hoping to see a black case sometime soon. Email them and request it. For now it's ebay trash or fat and ugly TMO cases.

I saw a pretty similar case at the T-mo store last week, but slightly different design - instead of having a front and back piece, the bottom of the case (i.e., the part that would cover the edge with the mic) pulled off you slid the phone in. It was exactly what I wanted - except it was magenta. Do men not buy cases?
Where did you see this Speck case, in a T-mo store? Neither of these are on the website. Might have to get a tough case from Case-Mate. Or swap this bad boy for a G2 ;-)

Personally I think this is a GREAT case. Its VERY form fitting, doesnt really thicken the phone much, NOT a snap on and very gripable. One thing I hate about snap on cases is that they usually are too hard of a plastic and slide around your hand. This doesn't do that. I ordered 3 different cases and this is by far the best phone case I have ever had.

Thanks for the recommendation - what does it look like on the phone, i.e., hopefully not too sparkly? And how pocketable is it? Thanks!

They just posted these cases on there site last night or early this morning that why they say temp out of stock. They should be there soon!

i have this case, i paid under four dollars for it shipped off ebay. you can barely tell its there due to the color, it mutes the smoked chrome ring even more and on the back the hexagon pattern actually looks pretty cool combined with the blue dots on the stock cover.
my only issue is that on mine (might not be all of them) it is a ***** to press the power button a small piece of electrical tape cut and stuck to the inside of the case itself isnt noticeable and adds enough thickness to make it easier to press.

It's not just yours. I have the same case off of ebay and although it does look good, it's a pain to press the power button and the volume controls. A case has holes for those buttons will probably work better. I just ordered body glove's hard case from ebay, the one with the integrated kickstand. Will update this post when I get it.

WOW haha that is exactly what I had to do. I put electrical tape on the inside of the case to thicken the power button. Works like a charm now thanks to my little ghetto rig job

Thanks for the input - definitely think I'm going to hold out for one of those SGP cases, they look PERFECT.

Np I hope they come in soon as well!

I also have the $4 "diamond back" case from Ebay. Its very nice for the price. Only gripe is the buttons, which I fixed with tape like others have.

I had this on my Nexus One and it was the only case that I used. I sold it to a friend, he dropped it in a bath tub filled with water while giving his son a bath, he pulled it out and it still works to this day (I had insurance on the phone where it covers everything besides theft or lost phone).

It's exactly what I have been looking for. Price is not too bad. I never heard of this company though.
When it comes in stock I will order one. I would like to see someone review it first but if no one does I'll be the guinea pig
It looks like a pretty awesome case. I doubt I'll use that screen protector though. The white one is mine.

Contacted Speck and they told me it's a Tmobile exclusive and have yet to request any more colors. So Im guessing the Speck dies with the purple. That said I ordered the Samsung "carbon" case, The PDair aluminum case, and a junk case from Amzer. Ill post them all up when they arrive. I hate having such a nice phone and crappy case options.

Thirded. Figured I couldn't go wrong for $5 but I came to the realization gel cases are not for me. I experienced the same issue with the power button and the volume rocker so I cut out those annoying ****ing covers

I have been waiting for a case that does the phone justice and this is it. I will be waiting for this case.

Atrix TPU Case Received, pics inside

Hey everyone, I received my TPU case from EBay (item 290530353216) today, here are some comments and pics. The fit is only OK - the cutout for the USB/HDMI ports is a little off, and there is a little bit of an edge around the power button that impedes fingerprint swipability a little. I will say too that I didn't expect it to have the goofy pattern - what is it with TPU cases and argyle patterns?? Also, as you've noticed it is somewhat translucent.
I give it a 3/5. $7 shipped in the US. I'll keep it until another inexpensive case rolls around that is higher quality.
And just in case anyone wonders, on my screen are the Pandora Widget, Android Agenda Widget, and some apps. I am running ADW Launcher (free). Also, I know I left my back panel sticker on there, and that was on purpose.

Yeah seriously with the frikin argyle ****! Its like they made a billion sheets of the argyle TPU and they just like heat mold them to phones (not like thats how they're made). This will be my third phone encased in argyle TPU. Other two were the dark one like yours, this time I got sick of trying to hide the argyle and people asking about the stupid pattern. I got clear so, "yes its frikin argyle! got a problem!?"
Waiting for the Realook screen protectors to be cut. no idea why it takes them so long to cut the right size. Realooks are by far the best screens...

Everything is temporary at this point...I'll buy nicer stuff once my 30 days are up.
I was fortunate enough to have a solid black non-patterned TPU case for my EVO that someone on this forum actually commissioned and was selling out of their garage essentially.

Check out tpu-cases.com. I bought an all black one there, shipped same day. Quality is nice, it's glossy, feels good in the hand for an 8$ case.

the 1.99 one I got from ebay is decent

Nice, never seen that site before. I'll order one up and hopefully it'll get here by the time I'm home from travel. Wish someone would make one like I had for my Evo though - it was matte on the back and shiny on the front.

Well I tried the Speck (or whatever it's called) case from AT&T and hated it...looked and felt like a toy.
Then I tried the Otterbox Impact (the smallest case they make). It's made of a type of rubber that sucks up all dust and won't let it go. It's pure black rubber but after putting it in my pocket and driving up to Starbucks to meet some friends...it looked gray. My pockets don't have any lint or anything in them...and yet the case now looks completely gray. I just put it on yesterday. It's also a bit big for my tastes...and the phone can easily come out of the bottom.
I'm going to try the cheapest cases on eBay. They always worked great for my Nexus 1 and most other phones I've used. The cheap thin rubber is fantastic for me. The phone's so freaking sexy...I just don't want to add a bunch of mass to it.

i like the feather as well. not much in terms of impact protection, but most of my scratches come from the phone vibrating on the desk over time and scuffing the battery door, so its a nice line of defense against that. also, its a little less slippery than the standard battery door which i like

Yeah its great for worrying less about the normal wear and tear.

I particular like the argyle tpu cases which give decent protection and feel. i have it for the ipad, galaxy tab, atrix, inspire, and xoom.

The best part is that it actually makes the on/off button easier to push and the finger scanner easier to operate (its cut at the perfect angle to compliment it). Its slightly different cut but a better fit than the pictures posted above.
I'll post pictures when I come across another camera some time today or tomorrow.
TPU is far superior to any other case material in my book. perfect balance of grip/non-stick, thinness, protection, and fit.

That's the problem I have with the feather - it doesn't protect either end of the device, only the sides and back.

Judging by the picture, it looks like you have that "textured" screen protector. What is the screen protector you are using? Those are my favorite kinds and I have been trying to find one for a while! thanks in advance

Kbc, who are you asking? I'm using an AT&T screen protector. It's matte and perfectly smooth.

Came across these by accident. I LOVE THEM! I was looking at the cases available for the Infuse, and found this odd brand by the name of Ballistic making a case for it. I became jealous and Googled them. Google took me to their website which I discovered, OUR PHONE is supported!

Just emailed them to let me know when they are available. I have the otterbox defender and while I usually recommend them, the one for the atrix has issues. I'm on my second outer silicone part, and this one doesn't fit right either. The bottom corners bulge away from the inner plastic part, which makes them come off pretty easy.

The cases happen to be made right here in Fort Lauderdale on the other side of town. I may go get one on Monday. I have the Commuter case which I like, especially since the ports and earphone jack have covers to keep out dust and dirt and the case is easy to get on and off. I dunno if the ballistic has covers and there are no pictures of the front i can find but the design and colors look nice and I am sure the protection is good. Anyone get one yet?

Damn that thing looks thicker then my otterbox defender case. I like the color schemes though. Does it come with a holster? I have to use the holster with my defender case, just to hard putting it in my pocket.

Got my Ballistic SG
Well I recieved my Ballistic SG in the mail today, got it off ebay for $22 bucks! I haven't bought a lot of cases for my Atrix yet, I tried a Otterbox Impact on launch day and was disappointed with that. This case however feels extremely tough, My brother has the Otterbox Commuter, which i thought was awesome untill this one showed up. It feels very solid, The ports on the side are left exposed, as well as the speaker grill. The space for the fingerprint sensor does feel a slight bit cramped when swiping downwards, I may have to re-enter my prints to get it to read more accurately, but for now it doesn't seem to affect it too much. I've only had it for about 30 minutes but so far i'm impressed. The case doesn't slide around on the phone (though that may be in part to my invisible shield). The rubber/silicone layer does attract dust, but overall I'm happy with my purchase. I attached a few pictures if anyone's interested.

Can you please drop your phone from the second or third floor while it's in the case and if nothing happens can you drop it without a case? I just want to check how though is the case before investing in it.

I like it! May replace my Commuter, even though I couldnt be happier with the OB.

covered ports
I did not buy this case (yet). It looks really similar to the Commuter case as the designs are the same///a soft rubber held on with a hard plastic. However, the ports are not covered on this one. On the commuter both ports are covered in addition to the earphone jack. Someone here reported dust on the inside of the screen and it may have entered thru the earphone jack? On my wish list is a case with a built in stand.

Zenus Masstige Block Folio Case

Great Case I just got last week. Not too bulky, lightweight and looks great. Talking with the flip closed feels natural and doesn't distort sound. It feels soft to the touch and it has a great build quality. You can tell they took their time making this. The stand is also great because you can adjust you angle easily! I recommend this case!

Agreed, a very nice case.
As I found out yesterday, it's also very sturdy and protects the phone well... I was taking the Note out of my jacket pocket and it slipped out of my hand and dropped to the rough cobblestone street. I was dreading the sound of broken glass, but all that happened was a slight scrape on one of the corners of the case/phone.
It hit the ground on one of the corners, and nothing happened to the glass, even though it bounced pretty hard.
Very impressed.

I been using this case for a few weeks now and i'm very happy with overal quality and design. I purchased it to use as stand while watching videos but it also came out very protective as well. I add some pictures taken by me to guide people who are interested in this case

I also purchased this case so I could have it once I get an At&t Note. I ordered brown and the build quality looks amazing! It will definitely protect the screen. Now I just need to get that white Note to put in there.

Those pics above are good but you forgot a critical part of the case...
Its also a stand! And will be very useful.

I think brown is best choice to go with white Note. Actually i took those pics with my Note itself so I couldn't figure out to take pictures of the case with Note loaded.

Cool! I am getting a White At&t Note and figured it would look real nice with the brown. That black you have is really clean though.
Does it work well and is it stable enough at multiple angles when you use it as a stand to watch videos/movies?

I also came across this case. Though the Tridea diary case looks better than this but it doesnt have the cutout for talking on the phone with flip closed and also no kick stand functionality. So this case seems to be the best bet.
Existing owners can you tell me for how much u bought this case. Currently its on ebay for $27.88. Should I buy it compared to the tridea case and which color?
MOST IMPORTANT: Also does this Zenus case make the camera sink in further than the free flip case which comes with the phone?

Guyz please reply ?????????????

I bought the case off ebay for around 28 dollars. Total it was 35 and got here in a week. The camera hole is sunk in so laying it on its back wont allow things to come in contact with camera, its deep enough. I say go with this case!

Thanks for the reply. I have a Black (blue) note, so which color would u recommend. I am really liking the brown one but I doubt whether it will look good with the black note.

I have the Brown and it looks great, but it comes down to personal choice.

yes, the rubber band will hold the case closed very well.
...But how long it will last?
I just recieved the case, today.
I most say, it doesn't look like it will last long or forever.
But still... I think it is a great product.
I'll like the case even with a broken rubber band....

Here's my two cents..
-I recieved this case roughly a week ago and alreaddy the elastic band keeping it together is showing the white elastic inside (got the black cover)
-The stiches where the elastic is stiched into the front cover is widening.
-Very, very bulky.. I thought it would be okay but this makes the phone almost twice as thick. When normally my note slides into my jeans, with this case it had to go into my jacket pocket. Just saying in case you like to carry your note in your jeans pockets.
+It covers every side of the phone
+The grippy area makes it easy to use it as a stand in alot of angles
-Cant give it a 20 degree angle like I could with the SPIGEN SGP Stehen case, so when you're on a desk and want a slight tilt to the note.. can't do it with the zenus case.
Overall: It can't beat Spigen, but then again.. its 15 bucks cheaper.

Seidio Surface Case

Anyone planning to get one of these cases for their S III or have experience with this case on other phones? I'm thinking about getting one since it covers all the purple accent on my "blue" S III. The case is a bit on the expensive side, but the soft touch rubber looks nice.

I had a surface case for my Captivate and that thing took a beating, in a good way.. Great case and it doesn't add too much bulk to the phone... Would recommend..
I'll prolly buy it only if my diatonic case I bought in black isn't to my kiking, but reviews showed its good

Ive already pre-ordered mine, i can't give a review for the S3 case because i wont have my phone until july 19th but i've had it for my thunderbolt and lemme tell you its great. Ive dropped this phone a few times even face first and thought it would be cracked the case absorbed it all. There's a little lip on the front of the phone so when it falls it doesn't hit the screen (unless you drop it on gravel or rocks) but if its just tile or something flat it'll absorb the hit. I definitely recommend the surface case, it protects the phone without adding a bunch of bulk or weight and still keeps that slim design going.

What color S III did you get and what color case did you get?

I always buy the surface combo except for the Galaxy Note where I ordered the active combo since they did not make the surface for the GNote. Going to wait on a coupon or for mobilecityonline to get them in stock. Not spending 50 bucks when waiting a bit can save upwards of 20%.

Aww man, I wonder if I can get that applied retroactively

I love the Seidio cases and clips. On a whim I stopped at my local T-Mo store yesterday afternoon and found a Seideo-like case (top and bottom snaps together the same way) that is gray/silver for $25. I just checked the web site and did not see it, but some stores are carrying it. I have the blue GS3 and the silver looks great with it. I am a big time Dallas Cowboys fan, so for me it is perfect

I just received my Surface & Holster from Seidio. The fit is fantastic. Quality is exactly what I expected. The only downside is that I ordered the Black case with a Blue SGSIII. While I love the black, the few areas where the "blue" shows through, Power button, Volume buttons, USB port, it just makes it look even more purple. Matches the purple home button now
Really, I think the case is a good design, protects well, fits well, and the holster is exactly what I wanted for those times I don't want the phone in my pocket.
The rubberized coating on the case does make the phone a bit harder to slide into and out of the pocket, but keeps it from wiggling around as much when I walk, so that's a wash for me.
So, if you don't mind your "blue" phone looking even more purple, give the case with our without the belt holster, a try!
I will try to add some photos tonight or this weekend.

Do you think that it adds unnecessary bulk to the phone? or is it still pretty slim, even with the case on it?

just ordered mine in black to go with pebble blue... should be getting it in the next few days..

It may not be the thinest out there, but it's pretty good. I'm still getting used to it. It certainly hides the fingerprints on the back

Congrats! They shipped mine yesterday and hopefully it will arrive Saturday or Monday! I go with the holster instead of pocket and am used to it as I have had the Surface combo for all of my phones. Post up some pics when you get a chance! I thought about getting the royal blue case but went with the black one...

It does look like a surface case! If it had a holster, I might have jumped on it before ordering mine.

Here are a few photos of the case & holster. I tried to show the thickness and how the black case makes the blue phone look more purple.
I really like the case and I don't think it adds too much in thickness. I also had a real hard time removing the case as the two parts snap together pretty securely.
I have had Seidio cases on my last three phones, any time I try something else, I always switch back.
