Hello I have a bit of a noob question
I`ve puted a custom rom on my gf`s phone and now she lost the fm radio app... on her desire, before the only thing she had to do to listen the radio was puting the headphones ... now she has to turn on internet and bt for the radio to play.... I put the app Spirit fm and it`s working for now, but is there a way to put the stock radio of desire in a custom rom, cuz the quality of Spirit fm is very very poor when indoors and traveling ...... if anyone can help we`ll be glad THX IN ADVANCE

Which rom? If it's ICS one only Sprint radio is workong.
nope it`s not ICS it`s GB 2.3.7 sensless i think it`s mildwild V4.3 to be exact
Well I'm using mildwild v4.3 and there is a stock app for radio. No need to use spirit. It's called radio fm... needs bluetooth on tho.

Plz, don't headline with capitals and exclamation marks. That makes you the noob, rather than lack of knowledge.
Pretty annoying!

Seems to be the same problem on the desire.
So use a sense based rom -which shouldn't need bt- (just tried on aurora v6 and it works w/o it).

So far i have tried the DeFroST rom, DJ DROID & Froyo HTC Sense ROM v1.0c | OpenDesire Team & everyone of them has faults.
There are 4 things i want to work.... 720 video, tv catchup, voice search & battery to last a bit longer. not one of the above roms include the 4 i want working.. has anyone tried a rom that has all 4 working ?
I'm still using 1.0c... I don't know about tv stuff, I don't watch tv anyway, but if you flash latest radio, 720p will work, and flash voice search addon to enable voice search...
It's all in the proper thread, you just need to read it

I use Pays-Desire-Froyo-Sense_v1.3 ROM and would definitely recommend it. I've tried most of the other ROMs on here, and I find this one to be by far the best.

Hi,

Does anybody else have a direct experience?
Last version of google maps keep loosing gps lock, after 2-3 minutes gps connection dropping.. When trying another navigation system, everything is fine.. Anyone has a same? Thanks

Yep same here, thought I was going mad.tried another app and no fix issues, so must be google. Was considering a reinstall off the app but haven't got round too it yet.
What Rom are you using? Google navigation doesn't work on AOSP roms. It's something to do with how information is sent from the GPS to the software. HTC fixed this somehow with sense. But as yet Cyanogen and derivatives haven't. It's what's keeping me using sense based roms for now. :s

The only info ive been able to find has come from this page HERE
Its not just MIUI thats affected, its all AOSP roms. As i said earlier HTC have fixed it with sense, but they arent sharing
Try a sense rom and you'll see what i mean
I cant for the life of me work out which files i need to pull from sense for the fix.
There's a fix mentioned over in the Inspire forums HERE but i couldnt get it to work. It has something to do with "gps.spade.so" at least thats the file thats been mentioned mostly.
Too bad, love my miui rom.. Thanks a lot for respond

I'm on black ice, never seen this before and used to use CM 7.1 and MIUI on my old desire without flaw. perhaps installing an older version of google maps maybe a work around?
I'll try to find older version of google maps.. Thanks..

Found the answer on the CM forums (sorry can't find the link) the problem seems to be related to the AGPS data on the phone. Download GPS test from the market and in settings clear AGPS. Start google nav and everything should be ok...
This worked for me, hopefully the same will apply for you

Hi,
I've searched everywhere but I can't find a good free FM Radio app. I did find a few HTC FM radio apk's, which I put in /system/app as instructed, but they don't appear in the apps list (when one does, it crashes). Is there a proper way of installing them, or are there any that are known to work?
I tried the free version of Spirit FM, but it's very limited and only has Mono audio.
Thanks.
Face the thing: get the full spirit fm app.
Greetings

Use spirit fm deal with limitations or buy pro version.
Its the only available fm radio app which works in most devices.

Hi All
Just flashed Pacman Rom onto my DHD, got it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1933804
Lovin the rom but the Google Navigation is no longer working.
It's just says "Searching for GPS" and never finds it.
I installed NavFree and it seems to work ok....
I do prefer the Google Nav app though
Anyone have any idea why this is??
Cheers

I don't use pacman, maybe try posting in the pacman thread/searching. Did you flash a version of gapps that included google nav. Maybe you flashed the wrong gapps?
What gapps are you using?

Use GPS Status and in the menu>tools>manage A-GPS , do a reset. Then check that GPS are fixed. If that is not working, then try using the fixes in this thread:

Thanks you guys!!!!

Not sure it will help but try turning the google location services on as well as GPS satellites.
I am having the same problem. I tried flashing a few radio versions. I get same 'searching for gps' problem.
I think the stock radio would fix it. any idea where I can get that?
thank you in advance.
Hey heywheelie
Yeah all that is activated so I really can't see why it won't work.
As for the stock radio fixing the problem.... I think might.
Never flashed radios, and only roms, so really don't know a lot about em.
Maybe someone on here would point is in the right direction

i've got the same problem... for some users gps work, for others not. i will try to flash another radio
it was working for me till I flashed a new radio. then it broke.
now I need an older radio to get it to work.
if someone gets this to work, please share the radio that fixed it for you.
I've never flashed a radio.
How risky is it?
What radios should I be looking at to fix this
