I have a problem with the GPS on my arc S.
If the GPS hasn't been used recently, then it does not lock on to satellites unless I restart the phone, no matter how long I leave it. However, if I restart the phone it normally gets a fix on satellites very quickly.
It's really annoying to have to restart the phone every time I want to the use the GPS. I've tried using the app "GPS status" to clear the the cached GPS data but it doesn't help.
Any ideas how to fix this? Thank you.
Look in play store for app called faster fix.
Install and follow instructions.( not sure if you if root)
You could look in android dev section for speeding up gps there is tut there but you need root for this.

What had happened to the camera?
Maybe you can try reboot and see whether the problem is fixed or not
If it still didn't work, you did better
Restore it and retry the things again by following the steps strictly
Anyway the best way is still contacting forever king
I just show the error unable to connect to camera thing when I open the camera app. Yeah I tried rebooting. Ah well I guess I have to stick with it until this weekend then I'll flash a new rom.
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app
maybe it was some tweak in build.prop or local.prop, if you have some backup try to restore
You flash a package that collects all "tweaks" and "optimizations" the author could find anywhere downloadable in the universe.
Why do you wonder that theres finally going something wrong?
Stop flashing all those tweaks that are re-packaged and re-named a thousand times, until no one knows what is actually changed.
I do not guess anyone here is hot on messing out what broke your camera if changed a few hundred parameters at one time, so i would not expect any valuable hint here.
No offence, but using your common sone is encouraged when optimzing your system.
The way you are doing it is like changing all available ECU parameters of a car engine the same time and then wondering why it exploded
It was here yesterday. Just want to know because if it contained some malware or some other shady stuff I should restore some earlier backup of my phone.
Other than that, since I did flash it, all seems fine with it. So, what was the cause for the thread removal? Cheers!
It looked like it was never tested on Plays. The thread is still there in other xperia forums.
Flashed it too yesterday, and my phone feels much faster and till now no problems.
It was removed from Xperia S forums aswell.. its done a minor wonder for the awake state of Android System.. so I really need to know if its unsafe.
The thing is that the feedback on that thread was positive or indifferent, no one said that it broke the phone in any way. So it's a small mystery why all of the sudden the thread is gone
I flashed it on a Jellybean rom and it wouldn't boot. I used it on an ICS rom and it worked fine, not sure what the deal was with it.
I use it on my stock 2.3.4 build. And it works without any issues. Can't vouch that it boosted my performance though since I didn't really test it well enough.
i have checked that on djjko ==> bootloop
2.3.4 ( ..62) ==> crash monitor error
2.3.4 ( ....58 ) ===> crash monitor error
so , i never will use that
Worked on dix2 but the same don't see any major improvements
Work on stock ics but battery drain too fast on standby

CM, AOSP, AOKP, 4.1.2 Bluetooth A2DP Solved?
This worked for me, so I figured I'd share.
Unpair, turn off bluetooth, reboot. Using root explorer, go to /system/etc/bluetooth.
With text edit, open "input.conf" file. Change "idle timeout" to "0" (no timeout). Fix permissions, reboot, then pair devices again.
It might take about a minute for media to connect, but media stays connected with no drops.
Don't know why, but my uneducated guess is for some reason maybe it's reading "in seconds" instead of "in minutes". Anyway,p worked for me, try it let me know and share this post.

Last night I was on Slim 4.2. I copied the files from his 4.1.2 ROM into the folder. Seemed to work, but got a lot crackle. Maybe if I deleted the original first it would have been better.

If you got crackle, then it didn't really work at all. Right? Are you just referring to the absence of bass that was fixed?
Does anyone know of a 4.1 ROM that has working bluetooth? ill DL it and pull the file and test it out.

I went temporarily back to Tasks last 4.1 build and I see the file, but everything is commented out. And it says "Defaults to 0 for no timeout". So technically mine is set to 0, and I still have no bass. Just no luck for us bluetooth people.

Supposedly, if you set
lpa.decode = false
in /system/build.prop
the bass issue is fixed. Its in one of these Q&A threads. Havent tried it cause that is for 4.1.2 only.
I stole the input.conf, main.conf, and network.conf files from a stock ROM and palced them in my /system/etc/bluetooth folder, set permissions, rebooted and......
didnt work. same exact issue complete with a total screen lock.
Boo!

Looks like were not getting any proper A2DP from AOSP for now. Which sucks. And TW ROM's are also crap. It was broken in 4.1, then working fine in 4.2, now they broke it again, and it doesn't seem like anybody is working on it.

I was just browsing the google android dev site and they are definitely aware of it they have assigned an engineer as of November. Popular opinion is that the problem resides in the core stack(don't ask me).

From what you are saying it sounds like the problem might only be solved with the next android iteration. Maybe 4.2.2. All I know is that after I installed 4.2 on my Nexus 7 and paired it to my car, the bluetooth audio cuts out a lot. So I am guessing this is a problem across 4.2 in general.
I found this page about the Nexus 7. Many users complaining about Bluetooth stutter.

FYI. I'm reposting this from the SlimBean 4.2.1 Rom forum. I switched over to SlimBean 4.2.1 from Tasks ROM as a test of the Bluetooth issue. Here is a report. Mind you, its very cursory at this point. I'll have way more reliable data/info after tomorrow.
Depending on the app, my Bluetooth Audio streaming seems to be working. I just tested with Subsonic Streamer, both streaming online and local music sitting on my phone. Neither of those worked, i.e. erratic pacing, static clips, etc. I also used Audible to play an audiobook and it worked fine for about 5 minutes. I even turned the screen off to trigger the effect. Nothing. Maybe its not the best quality ever, yet. But its something. *shrug*

Sounds great! Task released an update with some changes to BT. But when I tried it I used poweramp and it was the same, unfortunately. Do you think you could download the free trial of poweramp and see if it work with the SlimBean ROM?
