If you have 4.1, the update is probably for 4.1.1. Installing the update would stop the notifications. You'd also then be running the current version.
You can install a custom ROM to prevent getting OTA updates.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you accept the OTA, you'll have to reroot your phone.

Accept the update, its much smoother than 4.1,and just reroot it through gnex toolkit 7.4.easy

It's probably the 4.1.1 update, like the rest are saying. But why don't you click "don't upgrade"? That should stop it.

just install it

Just install it or use a custom ROM

If you don't want to update (and I have no idea why anyone wouldn't), all you have to do is change one line in your build.prop file. See here.

I'm on the LTE version of the nexus, running 4.0.2 rooted and unlocked. Will I still receive the update or do I have to flash it?? If I have to flash it where can I download it at?? I want to use a custom kernel but it won't work with my version...confused.

If you download it OTA then you will lose root. To retain root and custom kernals you will need to manually flash a rooted version by downloading it and using CWM.

You'll need to sit tight and wait for this. Or just flash a custom rom developed from 4.0.3.
I know that, I was telling the original poster that there was no 4.0.3 upgrade available yet.

Oh lol. Some dudes kernel says its only comparable with that version #confused

There are 4.0.3 AOSP builds, grab one!
according some posts, you will not receive future OTA update if you have custom rom installed, even AOSP build.
I just want a stock deodexed 4.0.3 rom. No changes no mods. Does that exist?

This is as bare as it gets. This is the freshly released Jellybean source built for the Galaxy Nexus with nothing added or subtracted.
*please note that this will erase your recovery and replace it with the AOSP recovery.*

Thanks For Sharing , Trying To Make Root and dex From It
Awesome! So the source was released already? Nice to know
Built this with my old Core I7 920 I bought in 2008
This has the SU binary, you can type su in the terminal and escalate. Should be a matter of just downloading or flashing the superuser app to have it in the gui.

OK, had a look at the ZIP. There are no GApps inside, as expected. One would need to add them. And the Apks are deodexed. Maybe in this ROM odexed would be better, we want to have the butter-experience and odexex ROMs ar said to be even smoother.

Pardon my ignorance but what is AOSP recovery and does it have any problems compared to CWM Touch Recovery?

Has anyone experienced issues with their keyboard after flashing the leaked 4.2.2 OTA on their phone? My keyboard will hide/unhide/hide/unhide rapidly at random intervals.
Question #2, has the official OTA update been pushed by Verizon yet? Does anyone have concerns that the OTA we received from Google was a beta version? Thanks in advance!
I don't run stock ROM but that was a leak so its not an official release. It is a beta

How to I manually upgrade to Kitkat? Currently rooted and running IOKP 4.3.1 ROM. I would like to be able to keep root whilst upgrading of possible?
As a side note can anyone recommend any e-book tutorials on android development and having a better understanding on ROMS/kernels etc.
Thanks.
If you want to upgrade to 4.4 or 4.4.2 you need to go back to stock ROM. As long as you have a custom recovery, like TWRP, then after upgrading, you simply flash SuperSU or any other root file you want through the recovery.
