Hello,
I wanted to start a new thread to keep stable, release candidates and nighties separate.
Bugs
WiFi tethering not working - fixed in 07/21 nightly
Black box bug when opening and closing apps - Fix on post #16
Mic and speaker not working in calls - Fixed in new RC2 build

Personal Thoughts
The battery life seams to be very good on RC2.
New kernel make this phone amazingly fast.
All credit for this ROM goes to the Cyanogenmod team.

It seems like CM9 RC2 has been taken down from the site. Maybe because it borks the mic?

why start a especial thread just for rc2 then state t's broken and you're going back to nightlies?

Simply because I don't think a thread dedicated to nightlies should discuss release candidates.

but mentioning going back to nightlies in an rc thread is perfectly fine. i see.
not onlyt that but if you know enough that rc2 is released then you should know the fix for what you mention has already been merged.

hey everybody, rc2 is now out for our phone, but it's broke so the actual phone part of our phone doesn't work and i'm going back to the nightlies!

Haven't been around XDA that long. I'm still learning the community's mentality. Anyway, I fix-up the OP following your comments.
Thank for blasting me and showing me the ropes.
Lets get back to being constructive.

thanks for cleaning that up, i'm sure you can put the link back prolly later today, tomorrow.
:good:

much better now !
and yes the ion kernel is really blazing fast !
cheers..

the fix https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andr...mmit/02e4922b74407af2ce62afeafea3fa5cca82acd7
merged today, so as i understand it, the version with the fix will be available for download tonite, and i would *assume* it would be rc2.

The 7/19 nightly already includes that change. No need to wait.

you're not supposed to talk about nightlies in this thread. ;-)

are you sure it's in the current nightly? the timestamp on the nightly is before the authored timestamp on the fix. just askin.

Timezones. 7/19 nightly was built an hour after that change was merged. See here: http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/#p930/cm9/1342714128

right on, i was wondering where the build is in relation to where the author is, geo-wize.

Found a few things that I think might be bugs.
Experiencing screen tearing in the gallery when making actions
Sudden battery level drops
No shutter sound (I think no sound at all) in camera app
Anyone else experiencing these issues?

remove black flickering
For removing black flickering go into settings--->developer options--->in last screen turn off both 'Windows Animation Scale' and 'Transition Animation Scale'
So, my guess, that is not a bug

Confirmed, this does work.

It also removes transition animations.

Battery life on CM9 RC2 seems to be much better than RC1, the ICS leak, or the nightlies.
Is anyone else seeing a big improvement in battery life?

WiFi tethering not working for me. Anybody else having problems.

Always assume good faith.
I recall a while back a guy here reported an OTA, apparently a limited test run of some non-yakju build. There was nearly a lynch mob calling for his head because no one could back up his claim. Until days later when it arrived for everyone else exactly as he described.

I'm not calling OP a liar, but I would suggest people be a little extra sceptical for the next day and a bit with April 1st just a couple of hours away. I've already seen at least one obvious hoax online today.

I agree. But if OP has a screenshot he's willing to share I'm listening, for now.
---------- Post added at 08:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:04 PM ----------
OP hasn't emailed a screenshot to that email address so I'll let it expire in 10 minutes or so, giving it a full hour. If OP still wants to share the screenshot, I suggest grabbing the imgur for Android app and uploading it via that, then sharing the link.
---------- Post added at 08:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ----------
Okay, OP attempted to email screenshots but both emails contained no attachments or screenshots...I emailed him back suggesting he use the imgur for Android app like I suggested above. I'll keep the address open a little while longer just in case he emails me the link(s) instead, in which case I'll pass them along.
---------- Post added at 08:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:52 PM ----------
OP just let me know that he will be uploading the screenshots via his PC in a few minutes.

Just curious, is the option for NFC back in the settings? With the 4.0.2 OTA it was reported the option had disappeared.
Also, is the market/Play Store working correctly?

So far so good. Everything seems to work (in the 15 mins i've tested). Only issue is setting Nav bar custom image FC. Color, longpress and setting placement works fine. In the OP they mention some nav quirks so its all good. Can't seem to oc the gpu as I normally can with lean kernel (terminal command) guess there is a difference with it somehow.
waiting any feedback from Liquid user that tested this Beta 2
multilanguage?
Will be checking it out thanks! :good:
---------- Post added at 07:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:16 PM ----------
Beta 2 looks pretty good. Only thing I can find wrong is the "touch" app crashes and the notification icon doesn't work. Other then that it seems perfect.
Are all languages included?
grtz from holland
Beta 2 isn't bad but there seems to be a lot more bugs than the original. I can't change images in the nav bar or lockscreen, the torch FC's and has moments where it lags randomly. These might just pertain to my device, but coming from beta 1, it really doesn't feel like an upgrade at all.
I did a full wipe and the only issue I've come across is the torch fc'ing, which isn't a big deal. Seems very smooth and fast so far.

I have AOKP nightly right now and am thinking of switching to Liquid (because of all the good reviews). But I wanna know if it's really that smooth and stable. I find AOKP to be already smooth and stable, but is liquid better? Also how high can you overclock with the kernel that it comes with?
Ahhh, i didn't wipe between beta 1 and 2, well. I guess i'm off to do that then
Is there a way to make the wifi, signal, and battery white also? I like the clock being white but it just looks odd when the other 3 icons are blue.
Just did a full wipe and reflash and still can't change the navbar icons, however the lockscreen how saves changes, so that's good
Did I mention that navbar icons and torch FC? Oo
God i hate the xda thread's sometimes

Yes, search Google.... Change icons and compile the rom from source or decompile framework and systemui and change the icons

Now track the status of your issue on -
http://bugtracker.liquidsmooth.net
Quick Tips:
◘ Make sure you do a Full Wipe and then flash the ROM.
◘ DO NOT restore data via Titanium Backup. More often than not it will cause stupid issues.
◘ Lean Kernel, as verified by Woodrube (Thanks!) works rather well on this build
◘ If you have done all that, and still face issues please post a logcat. (Search on how to do that)
◘ For battery related issues, please post a relevant screenshot from an app like Better Battery Stats etc.

No logcat or no screenshot effectively means your issue doesn't exist

Battery last forever for me bro....It might be the kernel you're running, or something in regards to a rogue app or something
I have been running this for a few days now and I wasn't sure how they could improve on RC5 but they did.
I have no excessive battery drain, however I did update Google Search and got the Google Now add-on with it. Since doing that, I have noticed more drain than usual. I don't use it, so I can uninstall with no regrets.
Other than that, I am running Lean Kernel 1.6 with it instead of KT's kernel and it runs just fine if you want another option.

Thanks to the CyanogenMod Team!!! They do all the work, I just build it and share.
Nice! Thank you for carrying on with stock Cm. It's nice to have options.
I realize that dev-host isn't the fastest mirror, but I'm still waiting for approval of my dev account on goo.

This is actually a slightly newer build than the one posted originally in the other thread. Shouldn't be much different though.
Tried your newest rom. Two issues:
1) Mic doesn't work when using speaker phone in voice calls. I can hear the other person, but they can't hear me.
2) Volume is very low. Ring, notifications, and voice call are all affected.
I went back to TW for now. These two issues are major for me. Literally everything else functions perfectly. Thanks for the great work!
Nice work bro aloha Rob

has anyone try this with the galaxy gear? Does everything work ok?
....gear only works with some major modification on anything but tw based roms

Has anyone had success with in call on loudspeaker microphone working? Same as member posted above, but is there any CM ROMs without this issue for our devices right now? Also, am I doing things correctly by fully wiping, then (in order) flashing the (desired CM) ROM, then the CM11-OpenCL-libs.zip, then HLTETMO-C13QS-libs.zip, and lastly the gapps package? Or is any of those unnecessary and if so, why? Thanks for the help, in advance

Delete. Wrong thread.
Any suggestions for resolving Settings FC? (Clean flash)
Thanks for keeping this up!

Probably my google-fu is failing me, but I can't find a list of what's known *not* too be working. Is there such a list, and if so, where? Thanks!

This is Alpha code pulled straight from the CyanogenMod git repo and compiled. It's brand new and there will be bugs I'm sure, but as far as I know there is no list of "known defects" as far as I know. Please help me and everyone else out by reporting bugs on this thread and I will add them to the OP and try to repro/fix them when possible. :good:
NFC and Hangouts audio, are the only 2 for certain things broken right now.
Low in call volume, speaker phone issues, have both been addressed in the code base.

How about low volume for ringtones and notifications? Any workarounds for these yet?
Low in call volume and also apps such as Soundhound and Shazam dont work, probably because of the mic not working

Wow awesome job. I haven't found anything that doesn't work yet (even tethering and s-pen!). Works much better than any other "alpha" ROM I've ever used.

G920PVPU2BOFE Over the air software update Rollout Schedule

They are sending the update out in waves from today until July 30th
So if you don't get the notification, or you keep checking and it still says not available..you will know why.. they pool a group of base subscribers and notify in chunks, to regulate server traffic. You will eventually get it, but if you are impatient, someone here will find a way to integrate via flashable zips or into a rom.
Also keep in mind if you are rooted or have a modified system rom you they wont show either, you have to be 100% stock for OTA Updates ( in general)
Samsung Galaxy S 6 Software Update
Effective Date: 7/13/15 (all dates are subject to change)
Details:

 Stores are reminded to update demo devices to the most current software version.
Fixes/Enhancements:

 Various Bug Fixes
Rollout Schedule:

Well its kind of hard to explain in text.. so theres a video that sums it up in under a minute.
Basically it allows your 4GLTE to tap from multiple access points and even "borrow" from other carriers like VZW/ATT/TMO to give you burst speed.
Heres another example of carrier aggregation, similar processor

Turn off the wi-fi only update option?
Hmm. I updated four hours ago but just had a spontaneous reboot while in my pocket. Never had that happen before.
just took the update myself, be a few days before we notice any difference Id imagine
Just updated, and am seriously disappointed. Very laggy, almost unusable imo. Hold off for now
---------- Post added at 07:59 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:56 PM ----------
On a side note this does not break tether without root, for those who might ask, just slow and laggy, even typing this there is a severe lag
Sorry you had this experience. I am going to let mine soak for a fee days with the update. Not rooted and it seems fine for now.

Thanks, yea like you said hopefully after a burn in period it clears up.

did you wipe your cache partition in recovery? that often times helps clear up these issues, I was getting awful battery life when I first updated to OF7, took me wiping the cache partition two days in a row before I started seeing good battery life.
and yes tether without root does still work, but I personally had to go back in and edit the APN settings

No im not rooted, just did OTA update. Thats interesting, with each update i havent had to redo the APN setting at all but seems some do.

Update: I disabled Samsung+ and did a reboot and seems back to normal, whew, that was scary, lol, so not sure if it had to do with new app or just needed the reboot.

BTW thanks Sprint/Samsung, you push an update that say bug fixes stbility improvement and u actually add a new app to our phones, thanks for the full disclosure

I'm no longer rooted either, you do not need to be rooted to clear your cache partition in the stock recovery

easy peasy,
1. power off your dwvice
2. hold volume UP, home and power buttons until the Samsung/Android logos come up then release all three (don't panic, it will take a few seconds before you see Android laying on his side with an exclamation point)
3. when the recovery opens, use the volume UP/DOWN buttons to choose "wipe cache partition"
4. choose the option by pressing the power button (MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE RIGHT OPTION)
5. choose "reboot system now" wiping only takes a few seconds
and you're done!
