I'm trying to make good photo for 2 days, but it looks like phone has no autofocus at all, most of images are not sharp!
am I doing something wrong?
Yes it does have autofocus:
Camera with HTC ImageSenseā¢
5 megapixel camera with auto focus, smart LED flash, and BSI sensor (for better low-light captures)
F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens
720p HD video recording
Dedicated imaging chip
Capture a photo in the midst of recording HD video
Continuous shooting mode captures multiple snapshots
Be Still For At Least A Second!!
It takes at least 1-2 seconds to focus on a thing. Be Still!
ok, but do you press screen or the photo button?
when i click photo button it seems like it makes photo instantly without any focusing
Screen and the photo button both...
There is Autofocus in One V...
When you take picture, you'll yourself come to know that it is trying to focus on a particular object.
If this doesn't happen, on the screen gently tap on the object. It will show some green borders around the are you touched and it will focus. After that, press the camera button. :good:

Well i had a play with my uncle's iPhone along side my THD and the bigest issues was how unresponsive the THD was at the Picture scrolling and Camera response.
Has anyone tried/started to fix the camera Application and HTC Album?? there is a second wait between pictures on scrolling and about 5 seconds on taking a photo.
I'm almost afraid someone will have to do a total rewrite of the phone app to get it to a normal response time from pressing the button to taking a shot. It's rediculous as it is now; the cam is totally worthless for taking anything but still shots of non-moving things like buildings; taking shots of people right now is just ...worthless.
Which sucks
We did 2 shots and a slight movement blurs. the iPhone doesn't but you clearly can see the camera is better quality on the HD.... as to the picture viewer is there anything that can replace it???
picture viewer: well, there's xnview, but I have to say that Album works better, IMO...as long as you realise you zoom in by drawing different size clockwise circles on the pic, zoom out by drawing different sized counter-clockwise circles and pan by touch-and-holding the screen.
Hi.. maybe i'm missing something (very probable), but i can't seem to find out if it's possible to have both buttons on the camera screen at once, for taking a photo or starting a video recording.
I've attached three pics to show what i'm on about.
1st shows M8 camera screen. Only button is to take a picture.
2nd shows M8 dual shot screen, on here it's possible to do both, take a pic or start a video.
3rd is from the One X camera screen. On it it's also possible to do both from the same screen.
Is it possible to get both options on screen on the M8? or do i have to keep switching between photo & video mode in the menu? which is a bit annoying if i want to quickly take a picture but have forgotten to switch to photo mode!
Thanks in advance for any help. :good:
That'll be a no then
By going to video mode (press the 4 circles in bottom right of the screen and select video), you can start recording video, and after you record a while, 2-3 sec, a camera button (that captures images while recording) appears under the stop button.
I don't know if there is any other way to get them both simultaneously.
The second pic is dual capture mode. This mode allows to use front and back camera at the same time not take a pic and video. You can see the red box in the corner which is the front camera image.

What i meant is that the buttons to take a picture or start recording a video are both on screen.
What i hoped for was a way to have it like the last pic from the One X, so that as soon as you start the camera up you can have photo & video buttons on screen.. but it seems as if that's not possible, maybe because of the two cameras on the back of the M8?

What about the Zoe option? You can take pictures with it or you can hold the "capture" button in for 3 seconds or so and it starts recording a video.

There already is that option in camcorder mode. As soon as you start recording the camera button becomes available for taking pictures.

This isn't exactly the best option since you lose any ability to use the duo camera effects if you take pictures with Zoe. Does anyone know of any mods that bring back the photo capture and video capture buttons on the stock Sense 6 camera UI screen at the same time?
so with my old iphone, i could pull out the camera, and click where i wanted to focus. furthermore, if say.. i was taking a picture of someone near a bright light, and their face was really dark because the light was really bright, i could press near their face or somewhere dark, and the camera would adjust the lighting, and brighten up the face and darken the background.
so far that ive noticed, the g3 camera doesnt do that..is there one that does?
Camera FV-5 has touch to focus and touch to meter features. In fact it has many more controls, and is the only camera app for Android I have used since discovering it a few years ago.

The front camera on the Op5t is a fixed focus sensor. You can't focus on anything closer than it's focal length be it with any app you use.
Yes but the annoying thing is the ligthing. If im against a bright background my face will be completely black!
Hello
I got the Fold4 a few days ago and still figuring things out
I don't seem to understand how the stock camera app switches cameras
There are 3 'predefined' optical zoom options at the bottom:
1. .6x - Assuming this is the 10MP ultra-wide camera (top camera, furthest from the flash LED)
2. 1x - Assuming this is the main 50MP wide camera (middle camera)
3. 3x - Assuming this is the bottom 12MP 3x telephoto camera (bottom camera, closest to the flash LED)
The thing is - if I cover the bottom camera with my finger and toggle all the zoom options, none of them show a covered camera.
It seems my assumption is right about 1 and 2, but the 3x zoom option also uses the main 50MP middle camera, and it just crops the image
Only going digital zoom of 10x or above makes it switch to the bottom telephoto camera
If I switch the camera app to video then it's a different story, 1x uses the main 50MP camera and 3x uses the 12MP bottom camera
Anyone has this issue or any information on it?
Just checked mine and it switches between all three cameras
I also just checked mine and when the 3:4 mode is selected then it will move between the 3 cameras based on when I select the preset 0.6x, 1x and 3x zoom.
However what I don't understand is when I can select the 3:4 50MP camera then there are no other preset zooms to choose... What is the difference between this mode and the 3:4 mode - are they both 50MP??

I think the regular 3:4 mode is only 12MP (3000x4000 resolution), maybe to save memory or to do produce better pictures with some algorithm.
the 3:4 50MP takes advantage of the full capability of the sensor
This option exists in most of their modern phones
The zoom camera will automatically default back to the main camera if the ambient light level is too low. Because the zoom lens has a smaller aperture it performs worse in dark environments. It is likely being triggered by your finger covering the lens. This has been the case with all multi lens camera phones that Samsung makes.

Thank you, I did not know that
Confirmed it by switching to 3x when all cameras are covered and uncovering only the 2 top ones
It will auto switch to telephoto camera when it gets bright enough
ty this fixed my zoom problem for pictures. but when recording video it does not switch can some one direct me to an app or to a fix please
