Hi,
I was playing around with fastboot commands and i hit a strange behavior.
On the first time i run "fastboot getvar LOCKED", i get "LOCKED: Done! finished. total time: 0.027s"
After that, all the times that i run the same command i get "getvar:LOCKED FAILED (remote: unknown command) finished. total time: -0.000s"
Anyone know why?
D:\android\Fastboot>fastboot getvar LOCKED
LOCKED: Done!
finished. total time: 0.027s
D:\android\Fastboot>fastboot getvar LOCKED
getvar:LOCKED FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: -0.000s

If i try the fastbook unlock give me the same thing (getvar:UNLOCK FAILED (remote: unknown command) ).
Another question, sometimes, when power on the phone, if i press power without release it blinks the down buttons 6/7 times.
Any clue about what is that?
I managed to put the mobile phone in this state twice, now the power without release boot normally.
Sorry for the bad english....
If you press the power button the backlight from the buttons begin to blink to let you know that you are "hard" shutting the phone off. So its more a notice, nothing to worry about.

Hi,
The blinking only occurs when the HOX is off, then i press vol up + vol down, then HOX vibrate, then press and hold power (to power on), after +/- 3 sec, the three buttons blink.
The "blinking" its when turning on, and i turn off (soft).

This guide is based on information found on XDA and other Android forums, thanks to all the people who where able to give me some more information.
This topic is only for people who has a completely 'dead' phone, my problems where the following when i start with this guide.
* Battery below 30% (3478mV)
* Bootloader locked
* Recovery not accesable due low battery (And so on no possibility to charge my phone!)
* Automaticly booting to fastboot
* Fastboot flash not possible due low battery
So pretty ****ed up and no way to fix this all, that was my idea before starting some serious google'ing.
Here the guide to fix this all, all the steps are at your own risk and i CANT guarantee that it works by anyone!
1. Get the follow View attachment Fastboot-battery-recharge.rar and place it in the samefolder as your ADB files.
- It will restart your phone every X seconds and so it can be charged while the black screen is on, this can take HOURS (It gets 2mV by every reboot)!
2. When the battery power level is high enough (Above 30% - 40% or higher is recommended) you can unlock you phone with the HTCDEV Method).
- XDA will tell you how you can unlock/root your phone!
3. Next step is to flash the newest recovery WITH the possibility to charge your phone in the recovery.
- "fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-X.X.X.X-endeavoru.img", get the newest one on HERE.
4. After flashing the recovery boot into it and stay there until your 'LED' gives a green colour, this means the phone is charged 100%.
5. Now you can flash any rom in the recovery or use the fastboot way discribed HERE. (http://paste2.org/p/2061793)
This did the job for me, hopefully for you also!

Make sure you use a short usb cable and avoid front panel/bracket usb slots or else you might notice the charge doesn't go up steadily.

Worked perfect thanks
Wouldn't boot into recovery until i reached over 4000mv though
You are a life saver. Thank you so much for this
thank you for the guide but this should be in the general thread

you need at least 3,68V to flash the recovery in fastboot
I know this is an old thread and I apologize for bringing it back from the dead but I just recently used this guide and I just wanted to share what worked for me in the event someone else would find this useful.
I tried to flash a rom without flashing the boot.img first and this is when all my trouble began. My phone would not charge as it was stuck in Fastboot mode and thanks to this batch file I was able to change the phone to 3700mV and get it working again. I mistakenly relocked my bootloader and on the top it said "Re-locked"
I used the batch file but then after a few hours it seemed to stop at around 3500mV. So i turned off the phone and let is sit for a little and even changed USB ports and then a the batch file again. I would say it took about 7 hours give or take to get the phone up to 3700mV. After I got the phone to 3700mV I kept trying to flash either a recovery or unlock the bootloader and it just didn't work. I kept getting Failed: not allowed or Failed signature verify fail (when trying to unlock the bootloader. It turns out I was using an old unlock_code.bin file from HTC and so I got a new bin file from HTCDev and flashed the unlockcode.bin successfully. Once that was done I was able to flash 5.8.4.0 recovery.
I apologize if my post is a little unclear but please feel free to message me if you need clarification. I would be more than happy to help. I know what it feels like to have this issue so I would be glad to help out!
So what do I do if I'm not rooted and my phone won't charge and I get no red light indicating its charging I also tried to hard reset no go

Are you using power + vol- to boot into recovery?
Power + vol+ soft resets the phone when held for 10 seconds or so resulting in the buttons flashing several times and the phone vibrating.
If your already aware please ignore!
Hi guys,
Basically I'm in a bit of trouble trying to get my one x back to stock. After running the RUU for my phone, it exited with an error saying that the device suddenly could not be found anymore. After this I tried to run the RUU again but now the error message about the battery level being below 30% came up. Anyway, after this I tried unlocking my phone again to go back to a custom rom and at least have a working phone however I can't do anything through fastboot because no matter what command I type in, it keeps telling me the following:
C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar version-main
getvar:version-main FAILED (command write failed (No such file or directory))
finished. total time: 0.001s
C:\fastboot>fastboot oem readcid
...
FAILED (command write failed (No such file or directory))
finished. total time: 0.001s
I checked the usb connection and the device seems to be recognized:
C:\fastboot>fastboot devices
HT24CW105437 fastboot
Could someone help me as to how to move forward? I also can't seem to charge my phone. I left it on AC charging for about an hour in fastboot mode and tried running the RUU again but the same battery level message came up.
Thank you!
uxyyy
For CID command is:
Fastboot getvar cid
For flashing:
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash recovery recname.img
Cache clearing:
Fastboot erase cache
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Hey,
Yeah I know the commands but unfortunately I wasn't kidding when I said I can't do anything via fastboot. :/
Even just trying to get the CID or flashing the boot.img returns:
C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar cid
getvar:cid FAILED (command write failed (No such file or directory))
finished. total time: -0.000s
C:\fastboot>fastboot flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (4862 KB)...
FAILED (command write failed (No such file or directory))
finished. total time: 0.001s
So there must be something else that's broken.
Try this..Download fastboot files again, put phone in fastboot..And on fastboot files hold shift and right click and open command prompt here..
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Still the same problem.
Also, I left my phone to charge overnight and got the green LED to light up however when trying to run the RUU it still tells me that the battery level is below 30%.
Any fastboot commands still return the exact same error message as before. I honestly don't know what I could do atm.
So I have been trying to unlock my bootloader for four months, and have failed literally every time at the same step.
The step being, fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Waiting for device
Unknown command
Time taken 0.003 seconds.
If anyone can help me unlock my bootloader, that would be great.
Also, I am unable to enter into 'hboot', it directly goes to recovery mode. (volume down + home button). All my device drivers are installed (HTC sync manager recognised my phone once, but after it recognised all the music, it immediately showed no device found).
This is my current situation, please help me out here!

1. My FASTBOOT USB page looks like the picture I attach for you.
2. If you cannot get the Identifier Token of your device, as you said, you cannot proceed to Step 7 and submit the Identifier Token to htcdev. And so they cannot email you the "Unlock_code.bin" file.
3. Can you upload a clear picture of the page you enter by pressing vol down+power?
4. Are you sure your device is supported by htcdev? (your exact model is not listed on their to be selected. Ask htc.com via online chat whether your device is supported or not.)

I guess that the problem is the mode where the device is in.
1. In your device's "Developers options" is there two following options?
USB Debugging
OEM Unlocking
2. If yes, are both enabled?

I've gone through this before, I have only USB Debugging, and yes, that is always enabled for me.

His device is the Indian dual sim version (HTC Desire 816G / MT6592). The only way to flash any os on this device is using flashtool and this rom.

Really? But why? And btw I have a d816h, not a d816g, as stated in the ROM you linked me to. I flashed this rom: http://www.needrom.com/download/htc-d816h/

What is the relation between these two specifications of your device: 816g and D816h?
(What is your getvar all information?)

What happens after reboot, try to boot to recovery with volume button, when you use
Code:
fastboot flash rescue_recovery_ramdisk RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img
recovery_ramdisk
does phone still have your broken twrp or the stock recovery?

HI, You said if you could put stock recovery then you can unbrick yourself. Can you elaborate on this please? Also, you tried the load method with the update.app so can you tell me where did you get that file? I'm in the same situation. I locked myself out completely trusting that the dload update.app method so that I could go back to complete stock as I was stuck in the emui 8 beta earlier with twrp installed with twrp backups. I have stock recovery "RECOVERY_RAMDIS.IMG" installed on my phone. I flashed it to get rid of TWRP so I could be on stock recovery.
I flashed stock recovery, relocked bootloader and tried the dload method and every time it fails at 5%. I'm using BND AL10C675 (INDIAN) so now I can't unlock bootloader because I need to enable "OEM unlock" in settings and I can't do that cos I can't boot into system as the system is formatted (NO OS) and so I can't install twrp or any system images nothing. I just locked myself out and I can't believe it. **** does happen
