iVisor AG screen protector for GS III - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hi Guys,
I noticed this screen protector has recently been released for the GS3 and wondered if anyone has tried it out. I searched but couldn't find any reports on the interwebz Any user reports?

Other than being anti-glare, i loved it. No finger prints and installation is a breeze. If they come out with s clear model, it would be a huge winner, but the A.G. I just couldn't live with in the end.

+1 for they need a clear version. I just couldn't stand the tacky "pebble blue" trim that went around the brushed metal design. Also the cutouts for the menu and back buttons made the fading feature pointless since you have two huge black holes where they belong.

Yep, a few of us have tried it, I dont think any of us ended up keeping it though. I wrote a review on it in this forum, might be a few pages back but its here.

[Q] How anti fingerprint is the Galaxy Nexus?

Hey guys,
I am planning on jumping ship, I am just curious if the screen is a fingerprint magnet, or does it repel finger prints like the new screens which have special oleophobic coatings on them?
Also all around the device, does it feel sturdy or just plasticy as the Galaxy S2? is the body a finger print magnet as well?
Thanks a lot in advance guys,
Cheers

You better do it quick - Christmas is coming up and there won`t be enough phones for everybody to buy.
Its hard to explain, but its quite less fingerprint magnetic compared to iPhone 4. Device feels posh and solid from front, but back is plastic and feels a bit cheap. I`m not also fan of this "snake skin" pattern.

lesser than iPhone 4 sounds fantastic, because I currently own a HTC Desire and a LG Optimus 3D which, well too seem to collect a lot of fingerprints on the screen. I know there are options of using an anti fingerprint screen protectors, but I simply don't want to degrade the experience of that gorgeous screen.
I will keep that in mind *places order now* xD
Thanks a lot for taking time out to reply,
Cheers
The Galaxy Nexus, like the Nexus S before it, has an oleophobic coating on the screen.

I'm also in Dubai.. where are you planning on getting the Nexus from? I contacted Samsung and a few retailers but they don't have a clue to when they phone will arrive. If the SGS2 release is any indication, it will take 2 more months to get here!
I'm finding that the screen doesn't have a lot of fingerprints left on. I don't usually leave as much fingerprints as most other people anyway (I have pretty dry hands) but compared to other touchscreen devices I have it is leaving noticeably less fingerprints.
As for the rest of the body, the phones doesn't have a glossy finish so there will be no fingerprints at all. From what I have compared to my friend's S2, the device feels similar in the hand in terms of weight and shape, as they are both "plastic" phones.
Having said that I tend to disagree with people who say plastic phones feel cheap compared to metal phones. The Galaxy Nexus feels pretty solid and premium in my hand, with no creaky plastics or awkward edges. Sure it doesn't have the weight you get with metal but I'm not sure why having a heavy phone is a good thing.

This.
I was worried about the feel of the phone too after coming from an HTC Desire but I'm glad I made the move as it feels solid and very well made.

I agree, i came from a Nexus One and loved the build of that and was a bit hesitant about the Galaxy's plastic build but it does feel solid. My sister has an S2 and IMO the Nexus feels and looks a much better build quiality, also the colouring of it makes it not feel as plastic.
I still would of preferred a metal backing to the device but i'm not dissapointed with the way it is.
For my part:The device feels solid, well built, classy. This compares to the Optimus Black (my outgoing device) which had all those qualities, but felt somehow 'less premium', The device before that was the Desire HD - a metal phone that was so badly built it was thrown back, the device before that the first Desire, reasonably well made, slightly plasticy button feel! and before that the Hero - felt bulletproof at the time!
Fingerprints: My better-half has the 4S ... "much less fingerprints than the iPhone" her words, not mine!
A friend has the Galaxy S2, handling it for a few hours around a month ago - is why I waited for the Galaxy Nexus!!
I heard rubbing RainX on it once a week will eliminate fingerprints.
Good to know about the coating. My Asus Transformer was nasty until I threw on a nifty screen protector (I wanted one anyway for that 10 incher). I've never tried RainX. My G2x stays pretty clean.

Sources have indicated a mid December launch if you are looking at an official one, but I'm sure it will cost about ~2.6k+ when it does, pick it up from expansys.ae

^ this clears all my doubts, I also do tend to wipe the screen after every use, and now seeing there are barely any prints I am happy !!
Build quality was something I was having doubts about, but I guess they seem to have nailed it this time.

I never had a Nexus One, so I cannot compare to that. I've had an HTC Magic and HTC Desire in the past, but I don't remember too much about fingerprints on them. I can say that the cases of the HTC's didn't show fingerprints at all (the Magic was white, so it would have never shown at any rate). I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S, and I can say that the Galaxy Nexus's screen is way way more fingerprint-resistant than the Galaxy S - I'm looking at them right now - the GN has one small smudge on it, and the GS is covered (screen-wise).
The GN case is matte, so it doesn't pick up fingerprints at all.
By sheer coincidence I ran into the Regional Manager for Samsung in the UAE - he was carrying a Samsung Note and I wanted a closer look so I approached him. He said the Note was being released in Dubai today (Nov 29th) at Dubai Mall. He also, with a lot more hesitation, said the Galaxy Nexus would be released too. I don't necessarily believe him, but I'm going to check it out. He said the event will be close to the Ice Rink at around 630-7

Are you sure he was the regional manager of Samsung? The Note has been available in Dubai for at least a week, I've seen it in Virgin MOE and at the airport.
No I'm not sure..he didnt have a business card on him. I think he was referring to the actual release event. I am sure they had a soft release earlier. Also I just called Eros (Samsung dealer in Dubai) and they said the Nexus will be available in Jan - no specific date or price mentioned though.

that isn't possible, the launch date already passed, there is another event today - with regard to the Note - the Note World Tour, sadly I am not in the clear to give out the location of this event's location.

If you go by the way Samsung handles launches here, then yes, Jan is what you are looking at, I'm hearing a mid dec. launch from sources but then again, they tend to push the dates when they feel like. So I can't vouch for that.
Been using my new toy all day today and I can say WOOW - screen is really clean, very very little fingerprints even with my oily fingers. Impressive, well done Sammy!
iPhone 4 just looked terrible

My new Otterbox Atomic case and Elago Stylus

I was having extremely difficult time in choosing which color of the device to go with...
I've had White and Black iPhone 4s before and now I have the Black iPhone 4S.
Through out my life... I've only had black phones... and I felt like White was a refreshing changes.
So, when I actually wanted to go with the White Galaxy S3... T-Mobile was actually backordered with the White device. So I only had an option of Blue of 16GB.
Also, I did my extensive research on which case and stylus to buy as well... so I've finally managed to go with a perfect match for our beautiful pebble blue.
I went with Atomic Blue of Otterbox and the combo of Elago Stylus with Pen and a extra tip.
Otterbox Defender is a amazing case... Not only this make the phone almost indestructible and makes the phone feel like a phone (added weight)
Sure, this case will add bulk and weight to the device, but remember that accidents can happen and this case is a investment for those who are clumsy.
Also, I think the color balance between pebble blue and the navy and green color of the Otterbox case makes it very unique.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to ask any questions. Oh and I am still debating if I should go with White one still...
You guys can convince me to stick with the pebble blue, instead of white.
(I made a poll option to help me to decide if I should keep the blue or exchange for white)

I'm using my stylus for s-memo. I was tempted to buy the galaxy note for T-Mobile, but I can just buy the stylus for my s3. It's not as accurate as the note, but it works! Best of all s3 is newer and faster!
So what do you mean by fading for white phones?

Very sharp! I have the same case except it is the Teal (ish, whatever color you'd like to call it) version of it. I have the White Galaxy S 3 in it and I like how it looks. I originally wanted the blue one, but after the employee there let me see both of them in my case I opted for the white. I'd post a picture but I'm not a the 10 post count lol.
How are you liking the stylus? Do they work well on the S 3 for actually writing and things like that?

I love it! It was only $12 @amazon. Honestly I bought this one over the other ones, because the feature of the built in pen and an extra tip as well. Also the color of the stylus (indigo blue) matches perfectly with the pebble blue s3.
Only downside would be when writing on s-memo its not 100% accurate. Meaning writing can be a little aliasing on the edges.
I tried comparing my girlfriend's galaxy note, this thing is super accurate (using s-pen) but using the elago stylus makes it aliasing as well. It's not a bad trade off. Can't complain for $12 and the quality.
I'd highly recommend it! 8/10 because of not being completely accurate.

Hey I have a few questions please about the Otterbox defender case :
- How much does it weight without the galaxy s3 in ? ( 80g, 100g ?)
- How thick is it ? ( add 1 cm to galaxy s3 or more ?)
- Does the screen protector built in can be replace by an other standard screen protect if it's damaged ?
Thank you.
Btw, it's look like a nice case !
Sorry for my english.

I've owned a few white phones in the past. After a year or so they just don't look so bright white anymore. Maybe that's not th case with the s3 but thwts why I personally stay away from white ones. That and white cars. They just highlight all imperfections and any dirt whatsoever.

Im not 100% sure how much it weighs. but it sure does add more weight to it. (I personally like heaviness of the phone)
Thickness is about twice as S3...
And screen protector is built in to the case itself... They are anti-reflection protector. You can take it out and use your own screen protector for problem.
The screen protector is there to be a protection from sand and etc...
I am not a fan of this screen protector, because it gives rainbow effect on the screen, but you'll be thanking this case when accident happens or when the sun is glaring on your phone.
I hope I've answered all your questions. Also, youtube has plenty video on the size comparison.

Thats what she said
I use the belt clip that came with Otterbox. It sure does look ridiculous on the belt... because it is damn big phone (although it's slim). But you know what, I've been told that the size matters
Anyways, you won't regret buying the Defender series... because Honestly, I think definer series offer better color options and it offers BETTER protection in real world.
Plus, $50 is pretty expensive, but getting from amazon... you can save about $20. so either way, you'll be able to save some money.
Keep us posted on which case you are going with... Also, I might buy SGP neo case, but I've been reading that these have problems with power/volume buttons... so I might skip and get the SGP thin air case instead. I will post up reviews and picture once all these cases arrive.
Also, I have Diztronic case as well (in matte blue). I will post a review and pictures up very soon!
Currently, I'm just with a cheap case from ebay and it fits quite well. I don't know if I'm ready to put 30/40 euros on a case by the way, quite expensive for a protection.
But don't worry, if I buy one, I will tell you
Edit: I just forgot to ask you something; some people said that there is a gap between the screen protector build in and the screen itself. Do you notice it or it was a random defect ?
Thanks.

I understand that you love you phone also, what color is your s3?
To answer your questions, yes that's definitely true. But, I have a extra screen protector on my phone itself.. (now I have to send it back for the dead pixels, and exchanging for the white one). I wouldn't go far as to say it's a defect, but the gap is VERY minimal. You'll be able to tell when you are just lightly tapping the touch screen. but it won't affect the sensitivity of the device itself.
If you don't like that, you can always remove the screen protector and use your own SP.
Also, I would like to know for those people who have voted for the poll.
Why did you guys vote for the white? instead of the blue?
Thanks for the answer.
I have a blue galaxy s3

privacy screen protectors despised ? Poll!

Takin a poll on screen protector preferences for the note 2 ,and mainly how the privacys are nice but jack up the screen quality, if not for the pesky cross lines that angle across lcd they would be ok, Seems yeda is a popular brand that presents this .... Any makers of a clearer cleaner Privacy screen protector?

I personally hate screen protectors in general. It totally crappifies a screen. Why don't you try going for a software solution like Screen Filter?
HAGZ Screen Barrier....might help
We make screen protectors in Southern California from HD Japanese film, but not privacy filters yet. Working on it.
They come with a 3 year warranty; don't bubble up over time. Easy to install and will not peel off. More info on our website Hagzinc. Also available on Amazon and Sears.
Thanks...

I agree. I am not a fan. I like the flip cover the Note 2 for protecting the screen while in my pocket. My wife on the other hand, puts a screen protector on her phones the minute they come out of the box. She normally gets a lot more for her phones when she sells them but oh well.
I can't go with out some form of screen protector mine has already saved a ton of scratches off mine. But the privacy ones jack things up to much .

I've not used a screen protector on all my android phones, including ones without gorilla glass. I've never had scratch issues.
Just need to dedicate one pocket specifically for phone and all other stuff in the other pocket.

Yeah, I think we might be the few. I'm super careful and also put the phone in my pocket facing me (always make sure nothing else in there). Seems to do a great job of keeping all the smudges off. ( I dont have much to begin with but) I seriously can't imagine putting anything on the beautiful screen. But I think for a lot of people who don't pay much attention to these kind of stuff, maybe the protection is worth it. Certainly beats scratches.
I just bought the new glass version from sphein 'sp' i got on a discount from 36 something and paid 21. Its not a film, its 9h hardened glass. Its the best money I have ever spent on screen protection. It really feels like going bareback.
One of the biggest plus's is you wont see single finger print, no sumges, no glare like bareback. The edges are rounded unlike my buddies glass version. His was the first I had ever felt and had to have one. I just didn't know my version had the rounded edges which makes a great deal of "feel" difference and doesn't snag in you pocket like his does. I would say if you can afford it then its atleast worth trying.

I dedicate one pocket for phone as well and have never had a scratch that my naked eye could make out. I have had quite a few Android phones over last few years as well.
I do immediately put a case on it though.
Fancy pants Note ||
I don't know how people can get by dedicating a pocket just to a phone.
What about a pen and pad, smokes and lighter, gun and ammo, keys, wallet, sunglasses, knife, not to mention charging cable and adapter...and those are just basic never-leave-home without it essentials?
I love privacy protectors but haven't found one for the note 2 yet. I frequently have to report on people next to or near me and they should not be seeing what I am writing, that is between them and hr, not them and I.
I also need to make adjustments to cad drawings supplied by clients which they should not be privy to, as they are internal company documents at that point. If the client is standing right there, how else to manage that?
Frequently I have to use my MyTouch 4G Slide phone for these things since it still has a privacy protector on it.

I also need to make adjustments to cad drawings supplied by clients which they should not be privy to, as they are internal company documents at that point. If the client is standing right there, how else to manage that?
Frequently I have to use my MyTouch 4G Slide phone for these things since it still has a privacy protector on it.

yeah i dunno where you live to need to carry around gun, ammo, and a knife O_O ... anyways, use a car charger and you won't have to carry around a cable/adapter and i'd just stick the rest of your other things in a backpack ... or something. keys, phone, and wallet are really what i just keep on me.
I just ordered one and cant wait to get it... this phone catches peoples eyes and i hate it when theyre reading my emails and texts etc..

I've always used Zagg, and been using the hd version since it came out. I think that they are the best out there

So i just recieved my privacy guard. I can say i love the way it feels and the thickness. Also that no one can see what im doong
But i did notice some color distortion and that the screen gets a little blurry. But i really dont care. I love it. Its what i have been waiting for

Spen won't work on any I've tried and I've spent hundreds on different brands. They're all crap for this phone. I've had it almost a year no screen protector and zero scratches. So no more wasted cash

[Q] New-ish Galaxy Note 2 user.

Hello everyone!
I've been using Android now for roughly about 4 years or so, been rooting, using custom ROMs and all sorts of stuff accross multiple carriers, including Virgin Mobile, Sprint, and now T-Mobile.
Anyway, recently I got a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to replace my old Sprint HTC Evo 3D (both phone and service changes heh), because, well, it was beyond time.
Pretty good stuff, actually! Loving TouchWiz over Sense, I never liked Sense at all, ended up always replacing it with another launcher, but with TouchWiz, I'm actually rather quite enjoying it overall.
I do actually have a curious question for people here though.
The case I decided to go with for my Galaxy Note 2 is the Spigen Valentinus wallet case which has a nice button snap and 4-slots for card holding, but it seems to close REALLY tight when it's actually got 4 cards in it. My Evo 3D I had used a hip-holstered Siedio ACTIVE case which lasted a couple months short of 2 years (for the holster part, the case actually lasted the whole time otherwise). I didn't go with Siedio this time because I just couldn't picture myself having a 5.5" screened device on my hip, and a rubberized case is rather hard to get in and out of my pockets.
My screen protector I went with is what I've been using since my HTC Evo 3D, which is the Zagg brand invisibleShield, their "HD" model, but with this particular wallet case, I've noticed a couple issues. If I actually do fully fill the wallet with cards, primarily plastic credit-card sized cards, including 4 actual credit/debit cards, it's so tight that it presses hard against the screen which in turn, for the Zagg invisibleShield causes a rainbow effect to appear on the middle of the screen, where the thickest point of the wallet becomes with all the cards in.
This "heals" after having it open for about 20 minutes or so, but it's really frustrating to see it. Also, with the GN2's S-Pen, I've used it to write things down, take screenshots of sections of screen, you know, playing around mostly, but even to this day, ~2 weeks after getting the phone, i still see the indents of where I drew with the S-Pen... As in, they are not going away, ever.
I was wondering what people might actually suggest here. I've contacted Spigen about the issue and asked them what they feel the issue could be, and they actually gave me a rather technical and seemingly accurate reason why the insivibleShield does what it does, due to the type of plastic used.
So I'm thinking about the Spigen Steinhall Crystal Clear screen protector as a replacement for it.
Appreciate any suggestions or comments on this,
Psi-Jack
Question did you buy this phone new in the box. . (From t mobile).... As for the screen protector I would suggest getting a glass one

S Pen Tips: white tip vs. clear tip

Just happen to look at the S Pen tips that came in the box with the tip removal tool. While doing so I noticed that most of then are white however there are two clear. Swapped the white for a clear and can feel a huge difference in how smooth the S Pen operates and slides on the screen. Anyone else tested the clear tips. Just wondering if there is actually a difference or if I'm just imagining it.
When I glanced at them mine were all black but I have the black n3. Going to have to take a gander late

Big difference. Been using the clear ones on my old 10.1 for the whole year now. The clears don't get smudgy and spongy after a while, they also glide a lot better in the screen.

Great tip, no pun intended. I just checked those little tips and sure enough 2 of them were smooth and not the rubber coated ones.
Changed it out, now it feels 1000x better. I hated the sticky rubber coated tip from day one, it made me miss the S-pen on my Note 2.
Now I get the same super smooth action. Loving this phone more and more because of you guys. :good:
Awesome! Didn't realize they made a rubberized one and and smooth one. I have the black note three and all the tips looked the same. Glad I ran into this thread.
