Hi there! Can anyone tell me what I should to to change the language of the phone. It's german now and i would like to change it to english. And also, is there a way to remove all the O2 stuff from the menus?
Thanks
If you simply want the original English O2 WM5 setup then:
Download the files on this thread and follow the instructions to temporarily CID unlock the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403 WARNING this may not work with Windows Vista, use Windows XP!
Download and run the original O2 ROM installer from post 13 on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314866&page=2
Thanks MaskedMarauder... Can you please tell me which programs I need on my PC to do all of this? Do I need anything except the stuff from the original CD? Also can I use this ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=318835
You don't need the CD as long as you already have the latest version of Activesync installed, just the CID unlocker (download from the link I gave above) and a ROM image to flash. The B&B 3.7 will work fine if that is what you want.
Hi I did everything that was said in the forum but at the end of the update, there was an error which said that the model of the phone is not suitable or something... Can you please provide me with a more easy and clearly explained way of changing the language of the Windows Mobile on my XDA Orbit.
Thank you
My company got some phones to send to the people in China and I'm having some problems getting this Phone to install Windows Mobile 6 Chinese version. I was wonder if anyone could help me out. Here's where I'm at
Microsoft said the vendor HTC doesn't support it but this ROM should work.
Link To Rom:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions
(I'm using the one that says Chinese Version (CHT))
This is what they sent. Well I've tried using this ROM and I'm getting an 264 Error (I can't read the rest cause its in chinese but it seems from doing some research that it says it can't connect to the Device.) Even though i have it plug in with a USB cable and its at the tri-color screen and says USB.
The Tri-Color Screen Says
Herm200
IPL-1.00
Herm200
SPL-1.10
MS internal use only (side note these were donated from Microsoft)
I've done the HERM_Unlock_v2a and it said success also did the Radio part no problem there either but I still got the same 264 error.
This is for a very very good cause and if I could get some help I'd be really thankful.
Also a stick would be nice
I'm a Chinese user from Hong Kong and I'll try my best to help you out. Just curious, which part of China are you sending the Hermes devices to? Only Hong Kong people use Traditional Chinese, the rest of China use Simplified Chinese.
Are you flashing it with Windows XP or Windows Vista? Have you tried flashing from a microSD card? What are the devices branded as? HTC TyTN, Dopod 838pro, Softbank X01HT or something else? Did you flash HardSPL onto them before flashing the ROM you want?

They are going to the CDC in China. I flashed them with HardSPL and managed to get the ROM to load. Is there a keyboard I can load to them if they want to type in Simplified? Other then CE-Star of course. Looking for something free. Or do you have a ROM that has simplified on it? I contacted microsoft and they said they didn't have it which I found strange the ROM i linked from earlier is the only one they know about. 10 bucks says I wasn't talking to the right person that would know.
The guys down here in Atlanta said that most people and China can read Traditional just most can't type it. So if I can find a keyboard to load on all these phones we should be okay. Sorry its taking me so long to respond I've been loading phones for 2 or 3 days now
Oh and its Windows Mobile 6 and HTCs

In case you flashed CHT Rom, I suspect, simplified Chinese character set is not loaded at all. No matter what keyboard you use no way to show simplified characters, respectively the typing will be for traditional only.
There is a MS SIP for Chinese characters, but honestly I found it not that good as CE-Star. Dont have a link but believe you can find it on MS sites
There is another SIP named PlumSIP, which I use, but only the version for hardware keyboard. I found it very convenient. Search google and sure will find a link to dev page.
btw, I use english Rom with installed Chinese characters support - works very well for me - no probs with text, e-mails and surfing internet
If you can read chinese. go to this forum http://bbs.xbeta.cn there's a chinese rom for the hermes and has chinese read/write capability.
In this case, I suggest you go to the most popular PDA forum in the main land of China and the web site is bbs.pdafans.com. You can find all kinds of CHS roms for Hermes and most of them are very good.
I'm in China main land and I'm using Hermes as well, but I'm running WWE rom on my hermes as I prefer to official rom's I just replace the original file wince.nls with another one which Chinese is supported with and add Chinese fonts and tweak registry. As a result of all what I do, simply Chinese is supported very well in a WWE rom.
I'm hoping this helps.
I believe this is what you need. I think you need to register to view the post.

Hi, can you go into a little more detail about which replacement wince.nls you use and the other mods you do to increase your CHinese support? I currently run a wwe ROM with chinese fonts and input added by cab files (CE-Star sucks but it's all there is and I have no idea why there is nothing better when the market for something as good as the vista Chinese IME would be HUGE)
thanks!

I'm a Traditional Chinese user so I can't help you with Simplified Chinese input right now.
I use WWE ROMs on my X01HT, replaced the wince.nls, installed "CHT_IME_QVGA_F.cab" ripped from a official ROM for Traditional Chinese input (Chu on/Changjie keyboard input, Handwriting recognition) and a 14MB Microsoft JhengHei Bold font. Now it is capable of writing Traditional Chinese and viewing both Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

I saw somebody will come CDC in China, they are our counterpart.

Hey, I'm not sure if you have got this issue resolved. Here the following is what I usually do after a hard reset or flashing a new WWE ROM.
1. Replace with the original wince.nls file in \windows wiuth the one attached below. You can do this with resco file explorer or other app.
2.Copy the Chinese font file to \windows.
http://rapidshare.com/files/121391687/msyh.ttf
3.Implement a registry import for the fonts as attached file Reg Fonts.zip to get a good look.
4.Tweak the registry as following:
add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\FontLinkMethods=1(string)
Then Chinese performs perfect in a WWE ROM. And also you can choose Chinese PRC in Regional Setting page.

You should see the /windows folder with a file explorer, either the one in the ROM or the well known resco file explorer. But maybe you can not find the file wince.nls as it's hidden by default. You can unhidden all files with resco file explorer and then you can see it. Antually you don't need to see this file. Just put the wince.nls attached in /windows folder and press OK to replace the original file.
This ROM was created using my dumped ROM and Diamond ROM Kitchen.
I haven't done any modification, this is just the ROM as it came with my HTC Diamond bought from Claro operator. It's not the newest software for HTC Diamond but it's a good option for those brazilian customers who want to use their phones in brazilian portuguese again after using other ROMs available at this forum. Only ROM, no radio.
I've tested at my HTC Diamond and it worked fine.
Link for download is here.

Hi,
Can you help me? I tried to install this Rom from Claro and just after the uptade, my Diamond froze in the first screen (Touch Diamond and radio/Rom version).
Even if i do the hard reset, it freezes again in the boot screen.
So, how could i go back to the Rom i was using before?

I have two solutions, maybe can help you :
1. On your phone: simultaneously press the volume down and reset to get into boot mode.
Once you have managed this, follow the instructions on the screen of your computers with installation of rom.
2. Possibly you do not succeed the first step, obtain a version of HardSPL Diamond, .nbh or ROMUpdateUtility.exe, and running, with the phone connected to PC and in mod boot loader.
Should work, good luck and more attention next time.
I've been searching for quite a while now to find a clean version of Windows Mobile 6.1 with the dutch/netherlands language on it.
So my question is where can I find it somewhere for the Samsung Omnia I-900
I know its an old phone I use to mess with it and put on WM 6.5 but I can't seem to find the dutch/netherland language for it? Maybe if someone can help me out on this problem I might not have to change the OS.
My goal is to convert this phone to a music player since I now own a blackberry and it only came with 1g onboard so I thought I'd use my samsung for music since it has 8gb
Thank you
Have you tried the official Rom updates? They can be found on: http://www.samsungmobile.com/support/omnia/index.jsp
Also, on Modaco they posted the link to the last know Dutch ROM for the omnia and a workaround to install it.
The ROM is at : http://nl.samsungmobile.com/pmgmvst.do?visitgbn=10913155&coflag=0
And the solution on how to install at http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-...evert-the-i900-back-to-standard-samsung-rom/#
Do it at your own risk.
Yes I've found that site but I downloaded a WM 6.5 from this forum, and when I go to the version and enter it it says it's not correct.
And I don't know which version I have to enter to get the 6.5 or 6.1 dutch version
Thanks bsinclair thats what I need!
But now I don't understand what he means with this:
Solution:
- disassemble original rom with i900 executer (latest version!)
- assemble your disassembeled files back to an exe with i900 executer
As you may have noticed I'm not a native speaker, does he mean to connect the phone trough usb and delete all the folders by yourself and after that execute the executer?
As far as I understood, this is an unpack for the ROM file. See here:
http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general-omnia-rom-discussion/286865/executor/
It seems that, if you unpack and pack again, the incorrect software version crap is gone.
Nevertheless, I would say it is better if you register there and ask the author of the post, he will know more than anyone else.
Hello I am searching for a Stock Rom (GSM) for my TP2(MDA VARIO V - T Mobile German version) with windows mobile 6.1. All links i found in this Forum or with google search are too old.
I hope someone has this Rom and can upload it. I am looking to T-Mobile 1.14.111.2 Stock ROM.
There are places where i search, and unfortunately didnt found:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=558838 (there i can't post as a new user, so i making this thread),
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_Rhodium/Shipped_Roms there is N/A in download place.
I know that it hard to found this after 4-5 years, but maybe you had this file on yours computer. Unfortunately i can't use Hardspl to unlock my phone, and this is my main problem.
Thanks, rudzik12.
[edit]
I find way to unlock HARD-SPL, so i dont need this rom anymore.
Regards!
