Sports headphones that have working volume control - Galaxy S III Accessories

I've been looking around about an hour now and I can't find headphones that have volume control, the ability to answer calls, and will stay in my ear when running. It seems I can get any 2 of the above, but not all 3 at once.
Really, for running, the earphone needs to have some kind of earclip or behind the neck. The sennheiser sport Adidas line would be perfect if volume worked.... Maybe i'm asking too much .
quick edit - i did look on the samsung sight, and the "active" headphones they have listed really don't look like they'll stay in my ear when running..... but if someone has experience with them, i'd love to hear.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Brian

Been there... The best solutions I have found are made by Philips with hooks over the ears and is programmable via their android app. They make 3 different models for Android phones. Also, check out Klipsch S4a.

All,
Thank you, as always, for the responses. I'm tentative about the motorola headsets because I'd like to use them to lift weights as well and i'm not sure how having that band on the back of my neck will work. Also, I have a pair of klipsh s4's for normal use, and they don't stay in my ear for more than 50 yards if i'm running.
So, it's down to the philips and jaybird. The philips are exactly what i'm looking for. I don't mind having one button as long as I can configure it to answer calls and move the volume up and down. Also, It's certain the over the ear will clip will hold the set in my ears - after trying many different earphones for running over the years, this configuration has always been the best. That combined with the price make this the smart choice.
But I gotta say the jaybirds just look too cool (plus full music control with the bluetooth). Even with the hassle of recharging them and the uncertainty of whether or not the fins will keep the earphones in my ear through a workout, I decided to try them. So thanks for making me the guy who buys something to look cool in the gym ;-). I'll let you know if it works out.
Brian

if you're ok with having something around your neck, the LG Tone HBS-700 is a good option
I use it at the gym all the time, thing is when you're benching, it'll fall off unless you turn it around.
Other than that, running/machines/etc all are fine.
Volume button/call answer on the left side, track skip/play/pause button on the right side.
Also goes on sale at newegg frequently for $40.00

if I were you I'd forget everything that the other guys said and get one off these bad boys

sweat proof, light weight, sound quality is awesome and you can take one ear off and have the other on. it's made by plantronics and is called BackBeat Go. I've had the S10 and trust me it gets in the way working out. when jogging it flaps up and down the back of my neck and it's heavy and everytime someone is trying to talk to me I have to remove it just to listen to what they are saying. with the backbeat I just need to pop off one side of the ear. btw they come with stabilizers to hold them nice and firm
edit: It's A Bluetooth head set for phone and audio. last about 4.5 hours of listening to music and 10 hours standby time.

Thanks for the review of those Go. I was going to get it but 4.5 hrs of music time is weak. I stream 8 hrs straight at work so that won't do.

you asked for a sport headphones w/volume controls. 4.5 hours of music is plenty. but if you steam 8 hours per day then those wont work for you. i just use them for going to the gym, jogging and any sport related activities. btw it only takes less then an hour to charge back to full.

Really? I asked for s sport headphone?

sorry thought you were the OP

Go - thanks for the review. If the jaybirds don't work out, I might try those next.
I got the jaybirds yesterday and they came with earhooks included (not just the fins). Since that isn't advertised (or i missed it) I was pleasantly surprised as this pretty much ensures i'll have at least one choice that will keep them stable on my ears. I haven't worked out in them yet, and i'll repost in a week or so after i've worked out in them a few times.
I did try them out last night a little. There are three buttons and a whole bunch you can do with them. The buttons have different functions depending on context (e.g. the phone is ringing or slacker radio application is running) and also whether you hold them for a long time or a short period. You'd think that would be confusing, but their functions are very intuitive based on what situation you're in, and I didn't have to read the instructions to figure them out.
They are extremely light, and seemed to hold in place well. Sound quality for phone calls is excellent. For music, its a little twangy and the bass response is not good. However, I've NEVER thought this was a good criteria for sport headphones as when your running or in a noisy gym, the quality will be lost regardless. Besides, I have klipsh s4's for when I'm in a situation that's just about the music.
Right now, i'd say this is a great buy.

I use my HS3000 Apt-X bluetooth receiver when exercising. Nice thing about it is that you can use whichever headset you want with it depending on the situation, so I use my sports headphones when exercising and over-ear headphones if listening at home wirelessly (also with a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable you can then use the S3 wirelessly with anything that has a 3.5mm input jack). Very versatile and can be picked up cheaply.

This thread's ended up being very helpful (thanks all). If the jaybirds ever break, I think i'll have about 20 other ideas to try.
This will probably be my last post on the subject unless the jaybirds fail or break. I've worked out with them twice and made several hours of phone calls on them just to check performance.
For sound quality: Not as bad as my first impressions (which weren't that bad to begin with). There isn't the distortion i thought i was hearing on the higher frequencies and the bass response seems to be better than i thought, though it could be better.
Stability: I clipped the ear-hooks on the headphones wrong the first time, clipping them onto the neck of the earplugs as opposed to the base of the earplugs. At first they didn't stay on at all. Once i figured this out, they were stable and didn't budge in either of the runs (~45min).
Usability: still pretty intuitive.
Batterylife: I've probably gotten 4 hours out of them without a charge so far, so the 6 hour battery life advertised probably isn't too far off.
bluetooth: it says to keep your phone on your right arm. I had it, at various points of my work outs, on my arm, in my pocket and on the floor if i was lifting weights with no problem. I've seen conflicting reviews on this, and since bluetooth is a two-way system, i'm assuming that your mileage will vary based on environment and the model phone you have.

Wireless ear buds

Any one with any experience with them? And which kinds?
I suppose most of them need bluetooth?
I've got some of these...
http://www.google.co.uk/products/ca...a=X&ei=CqHBTueCPMmxhAeH3vmaBA&ved=0CHIQ8wIwAA
They're really good quality (which they should be for the price). The only downside is that there's no controls or volume on them. There's just 1 button for turning on/off and pairing. They do also double as a hands-free kit though, as there's a mic built into them.
If you're not fussed about controls and volume then I couldn't recommend these more.
Alternatively, go for a "dongle" approach, like this...
http://www.google.co.uk/products/ca...776039&ei=fKHBTvPTEpzj-AbgpvnjBA&ved=0CBkQrhI
That kind of thing is very popular and that one in particular is very good. A mate of mine got one and he loves it.

It obviously does have an effect, but using bluetooth doesn't really drain the battery that badly. Bare in mind that you're normally gonna have some media player running (music or video), and that's the main drain reason.
Woaw, Marvellous, but a bit pricey ;-(
I regularly use a Sony Ericsson MW-600, you can plug any earphones you already have (including headphones) and still use them for calls since the mic is on the piece itself, it has FM-Radio too so if you use it and use some AOSP ROM without FM it solves the issue for itself...
They go around 40€ in Amazon if you're in Europe. And already bring some okayish in-ear-phones.
It barely makes any diference on the battery, and it's alot better than being all wires and stuff...
I can totally recommend jabra bt3030, using it since i was on a HTC G1, good sound , interesting looks, I only wish they had an option to turn the backlight off, sometimes its just too much of a beacon/lighthouse.
Wireless headphones are virtually all awful. Most of them are bloody awful.
Your best option is the bluetooth dongle idea so you can plug decent headphones into that. You still have a cable, but at least you can tuck the small receiver into a shirt pocket rather than a large phone.
I did come across some Samsung headphones that weren't too bad for quality/functionality, but they were very uncomfortable.
I've gone through quite a few and gave up, they all had some issue or another that made them impractical. Another annoying thing is that the manufacturers all insist on putting bright flashing blue LEDs on them which look stupid.
Thanks for the input everyone. I decided not to go for wireless at this time. I couldn't find one that really impressed me. My main issue was the consistent tangling of the cords.
I opted for the retractable device thingy for now
guess I'm alittle late but I use my motorola S9-HD-Stereo-Headphones, they have a pause, forward and backwards, volume controls plus call answering ..possible voice control haven't tried it yet..

Hey guys,
Just a few days ago I purchased the LG Tone (model HBS-700).
It's a pure bluetooth headset, no dongle. I must say, I'm quite impressed. Great design, the unit which rests around the neck, has controls for volume, pause/play, call, and forward/rewind.
I purchased these mainly for audio books (audible), but music as well. I'm no audiophile, but they sound as good as the stock samsung ear buds. Max volume is louder than I can handle.
Battery life of the device seems to be spot with the advertised 10 hours. Charges via a micro usb.
As for the phone, bluetooth does take its toll, still not too bad. Between the 2000mah samsung battery, androidmeda rom, and undervolt, my phone lasts well over a day.
Phone call feature works great too. Calls are clear and everyone I've spoke to in the last few days said they could hear me just fine.
The only issue I've noticed so far, is that in netflix, there seems to be a delay/timing issue. Audio is about 1/10th of a second behind where it should be. Its slightly noticeable, but far from an issue for me.
I paid $47.00 (usd) on Amazon for them. So far I'm very satisfied.

Looks like I'm pretty late on this one but I have the MW600 with my i9100. It works perfectly. I plug in a really good pair of Klipsch (sp?) headphones and get great battery time with my phone with bluetooth on. I also get what I consider to be an unusually good range between the bluetooth and the phone. When I was getting out of range it would sorta 'fuzz' or 'static' out like an old analog wireless phone. It was enough of a warning to remind me not to go any further away since I would forget that I was actually using bluetooth...

My dad bought it in Dubai but I wont be able to test it for 2 more months. I'll let you all know the results but I expect the best as mentioned by others already.
Also I like this "feature" that you mention about "static" when to far away. It's a good thing, I also get that with my current ear BT from iTech and I can get really far away from the phone which is a very good thing. with the same BT and SE W980 the range was really limited but I guess it's down to the class of BT inside the phone.
cheers.
Why has nobody suggested the Samsung HS3000 Bluetooth Headset? Has all the necessary controls and you can then just plug in a paid of decent headphones (I use Klipsch x10). Works perfectly. Simples.

LG Tone HBS-700 Bluetooth review

When taken out, these headphones look really really good.
These has a unique design. They headphones are attached to the band that stays around your neck. Just pull them out the socket and put them in your ear. When you're done, put them back in the socket, which connects with a magnet that's on the back part of the ear buds.
They have controls that work well with the phone. They have Play/Pause, Volume Up/Down, Next/Previous and a phone button
The headset itself has its own volumes. You can set the volume for the headset and if its not loud enough or too loud, you can also make it louder or less louder with the volume button on the phones. There is also a bass booster feature that enables when you hold down Volume up and down at the same time and it sounds good for Bluetooth headphones. The only control that doesn't seem to work right is the fast forward/rewind button. It says to hold down the next/previous button to do this. The headphones itself makes the noise that makes it seem like its doing it but the song continues at normal speed. Not a deal breaker. I tried this with Google Music so it might be different with other players. It has a built in mic and I only made one call and the person said they heard me loud and clear. The headset will have its own notification to let you know about the call and the neck band actually vibrates which I think is cool
It comes with an app that reads the message but let me save another long block of text by simply saying: ICS=No Worky.
Another thing is when you have it on, the phone button works like voice commands. I have Vlingo on my phone and it only seems to work right with the In Car feature of Vlingo as everything with that is done by voice but I'm sure that's yet another battery hog.
Also when you pick it up, it feels very light and like it dangles so at first it felt like it could break easily but I'm sure its durable. The ear buds are also sweat proof and water resistant (Im sure read this in the description)
Okay sorry for the long review but I just wanted to get this out there for any one in search of a good Bluetooth set. I know us GNex users suffer battery issues but if you don't mind that or you have great battery life, I HIGHLY recommend these. These are some great Bluetooth ear buds and for $50 with how great it works and looks, you really can't go wrong. Hope this helped someone out there

Well from what I've read the wireless ones has lesser bass than the actual corded ones. I might still get them but with these, I'm almost positive I've found my perfect Bluetooth headphones
I just returned the ibeats earbuds to best buy last week. Those were by far the worst headphones I have ever owned.
I searched the entire market and this is the model that struck me.
Now that you have owned this piece for about 4 months, can you tell us the pros and cons in real usage ??
I am mainly looking at Multipoint connectivity an iPOD and my Galaxy Note at the same time. Is that possible with this model ??
I've had these since at least November. I use them almost every single day at work. I use them while jogging, working out, shopping... basically everywhere.
I bought my sister and her boyfriend each a set for Christmas.
I've said it a few times but these are literally my favorite tech purchase of the year. For wireless they sound excellent. I don't expect audiophile quality out of any wireless equipment, but these did surprise me for the price. The design is superb. I love being able to have one ear bud in at work listening to podcasts while the other bud is safely stored away. The battery will likely outlast your nexus and as long as you plug it in each night you shouldn't have any issues there.
I've had mine for 6 months and they don't seem any worse for the wear. I try to wipe them down after jogging / working out, but other than that they don't get any special treatment.
5/5.
Great. This surely helps me make the decision.
Anything you can say about the multipoint connectivity?

I haven't used multi point much, but it does switch between my MacBook and Galaxy Nexus without problem.
I absolutely love these headphones. They sound great, the battery lasts for quite a few hours, and it works perfectly for calls as well. This is especially great when I travel for work. Because the headset is stereo and goes in both ears, I have no problems tuning airport noises out while on any call.

I bought a pair a month ago. I got then on ebay for $35 & I really love them. I had the motorola's SD-9, those were uncomfortable, sounded weak & the controls stopped responding a couple of month after I bought them. These are very comfy. They sound great with good sound level. I use them with my iPod & HTC OneX. I listen to my audiobooks in the iPod and when I get a call it just pauses the iPod, I do my call and then the iPod resumes. The batery life is awesome, I listen to my iPod all day long without having to stop to recharge. The calls sound loud & clear, the caller hears me clearly without having to raise my voice. These are great!
Bought the updated version of these bluetooth headphones (HBS-730) and they are fantastic.
Thanks for the reviews everyone, guess I found my bluetooth headset
Some Cons
I purchased the HBS-730 and all of the positive reviews are correct. I would like to share two real-world-use concerns.
1) The ear buds have a hole opposite the speaker. I can tell that they enhance the sound quality because when I cover them with my finger, the audio degrades. When I'm running this hole creates a noticeable wooshing sound.
2) These are designed to rest comfortably around your neck. When running, they bounce up and down and bonk against my collar bones. I have attempted to put the front parts under my shirt, but that hasn't worked very well. I may try clipping them to my shirt to keep them from bouncing up.
Has anyone else experienced these issues?

I like the MW600.

Good battery life, FM radio, plus you have the option to use your own headphones if you have good ones or are picky like that. Only down side is the difficult to adjust volume control, but I don't find it's often an issue.
Jabra Clipper
I have the Jabra Clipper, and they are totally not bad. I had the sony mentioned above, but lost it. I liked it better, but this Clipper stays put and I've not lost it the way I did the sony.
Amazon has them (tried to put link, but I was denied due to my noob status)
Hope this is helpful. Sound is very good, and surprisingly loud. You can use your own headphones, and it's very small. Battery life is much better listening to music than it is for phone calls.

I have the motorola sp10 hd's. I like them cause of the fact that there are no wires and there waterproof. They are a tad uncomfortable but i got used to them. They also have control functions on them and its own volume so u have the phone volume plus the headphones volume. Call controls if you want to use them to talk and they sound is pretty good

+1 for the clipper.
I use motorola s-10hd's. Battery life is alright, they come with 4 different ear plug sizes, and they are waterproof. They are uncomfortable at first, but you get used to them. Of all that I have tried, I like the sound of the motorolas the best. I also have some s-305's, they are good sounding, and comfy, but they are not waterproof. I workout daily and I need something that can handle sweat.
Go with a wireless headset instead of these other poster's recommended turd wired bluetooth pieces since it gets in the way.
I've used these for over a year and a half while working out and running.

It (the MW600) is pretty small (about the size of a AA battery), and it is put in place using a small clip down 1/2 of its length. Because of this, it sometimes can be pulled off of clothing if it isn't placed well (hence why kcfreels mentioned a lost one). I work in agribusiness research, so I do quite a bit of regular bending, lifting, and walking, and I've not lost one yet since I've been very careful to attach it securely and not pull on it.
It's quite difficult to switch between sources (FM radio, phone media audio) without looking at the unit. It's possible, but half the time I have to look to make it work without trying 3-4 times. The reason for this is to switch sources, you have to hold the play button (easy to do blind) followed by selecting one of two-3 points (depending on how many sources you have paired) on the oft-maligned volume slide pad... and the points are not very far apart and it's easy to hit somewhere else without meaning to before the change takes. This isn't often a problem though, since I'm either listening to FM radio (and calls come through automatically but not text-by-voice) or I'm listening to music/pandora/g-music through my phone... so I just don't switch more than 2-3 times per day anyway.
Other issues I've seen are inherent to the bluetooth setup, not because of the MW600 unit itself (like the phone needing to be awake and without lock to use completely "hands-free" with the call button on the headset; voice recognition in windy/noisy areas is poor; etc.).

I've spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the absolute best BT headphones and I can without a doubt tell you the BEST possible thing you can get is the Jaybird Freedom. (J3)
Super comfortable, great battery (8+ hours) superior sound & bass and extremely durable. Get these and you will wish you had got them sooner.. Worth EVERY one of the $99 dollars I spent on them. Yes there are cheaper. They fit and sound cheaper also.

Cool! You won't be disappointed. Spend some time finding the right in ear bud size. It comes with 3 sizes. Also, the upside-down shark fins that hold it into your ears, there are 3 sets of them also. You'll want to find that size as well.
DSP manager is a good idea if you are a audiophile.

i made my own. bought a zonda set for cheap. the headphones on it were pretty bad. replaced them with some koss ksc75 headphones, because they are known for great sound on a budget. the headphones pivot at the connection point to the headband. they really sound great now. also, the battery life and range is excellent.

Review of Comply Foam Tips with pics!!!

This is a review of Comply Foam Tips to enhance your listening experience with Note 2 or any other phone: http://www.complyfoam.com/
After reviewing bluetooth headphones in our forum, someone brought up to my attention using Comply foam tips as replacement to those come bundled from manufacturer. I'm sure a lot of you familiar with Comply name since any search for headphones on amazon always brings it up as recommended option. One might think, why do you need one when every headphone you buy today comes bundled with multiple pairs of replacement tips, in various sizes and shapes? That's how I thought until I got a chance to play around with these. The main difference is that headphones come with silicone ear tips. Comply ones are made out of memory foam which surrounds a flexible silicone core and even comes with a wax guard. So that flexible core actually goes around your earphone port while the memory foam creates a soft and comfortable seal between the core and your ear canal opening. Sounds simple, but there is actually the whole science behind this technology (you can read more here: http://www.complyfoam.com/pages/Technology.html). Comply offers a lot of different models to fit different headphones with their on-line selection guide. Also, they offer now a new shape under their TSX series which is more rounded rather than cylindrical. That's the one I chose for my testing, as you can see from pictures below where I tried it with LG Tone+ HBS730 (although not listed in Comply database as tested yet, works great with TSX500), Jaybird Blue Buds X (TSX500), and Klipsch S4A (TSX100).
The results were very positive. First of all, for anybody who thinks adding a new ear tip will make $5 earphone sound like $100 premium model - that won't happen. It's not an intention of these. The purpose of these is to make earbuds sit more comfortable in your ears, keep them in without falling out during your active lifestyle, better isolate outside noise, and also to keep that nasty ear wax away from your earphones With every pair of headphone I tested they did exactly that to perfection, making listening experience a lot more pleasurable. One additional bonus I found with these was a bass enhancement in every single case. I even did a/b comparison by keeping stock silicone tip in one ear and comply memory foam tip in the other. I can only address it to a fact that you can push earphone with Comply tip further down your ear channel thus enhancing low frequency reception.
Overall, its a very nice enhancement to any headphones so you can enjoy your Note 2 music, movies, and also extend your listening experience with comfort.
Here are the pictures for your enjoyment.

As a bonus, Comply offers unique set of earplugs with the same memory foam technology and some unique noise reduction filtering - http://www.complyfoam.com/products/comply-foam-plugs/ - I added these into the mix of test. These don't connect to headphones, just a stand alone earplugs that cut down on outside noise, attenuate the sound without actually muffling it, sort of like a fixed volume control to reduce outside noise. Comply markets it for musician and concert goers. Well, I'm sitting right now in the living room writing this review with these earplugs in my ears while my 5 yr old screams on top of his lungs fighting with my 8 yr old - and they don't bother me That good!
Just throwing my opinion here too, if you use in-ear headphones these are a pretty good buy. As vectron said they'll reduce the outside noise and give you better bass due to the better seal they create in your ear opposed to silicone tips. If you commute on a train like I used to, you'll love them for the increased noise isolation alone. Don't blame me if you miss any announcements though

I want to add this to my jawbone era as that's how I'm currently listening to music, but I don't know which ones to buy. I contacted the company but didn't get a response. Any insight here would be appreciated.

Their website has a selection guide by brands/models. If its not listed in there, they told me it hasn't been tested yet. I would measure diameter of the tip without earpiece and email them again. Everything is sized by a diameter of that tip piece.

500 series. But to be honest, I actually went back to a stock one because when I use Tone+ I typically don't have it in my ears, only when I get a call or listening briefly to a music. With comply tip it delays quick in'n'out of the ear. Once it in, the sound is great, but I need it quickly in my ear without fumbling. Just my personal experience. But if you do need it for Tone, 500 series is the way to go!
Thanks for the review. Just ordered a set of TSX500s for my Bluebuds X.

I use memoryfoam noiseblockers, and my experience is that they don't last very long. The memory effect lasts about a few weeks.
How is that with these comply tips? How long do they last ?
I've had mine over a month and they are loosing there memory
They are a lot softer then they used to be and my bluebuds start to work they way out of my ears

Hi Vectron, what size did you use for the TSX500? I read your review of the Jaybird BlueBud X, and I'm using the medium size wings with the large size eartips just as you do. So I think that I should probably get the same size for the comply eartips as you do as well =)

I ended up using medium with blue buds. You can actually kind of see it in the picture since those are in between of small and large size tips I have next to earphones. You can either get it in a pack of 3 sizes or pack of 3 of the same size. To be on a safe side I would probably get a sampler with 3 sizes, because I'm not sure about return / exchange policy, although I will ping their customer support and post it here their response.

I see. Thanks for your quick reply.
Actually I only bought the BlueBud X yesterday, and just went for a run with them a few hours ago. So far the stock eartips gave an excellent seal throughout the run (even with all my sweat), so i guess I'll hold off on the purchase of the Comply eartips till I find that I really need them.
Cheers!

You are happy with stock tips, I'm not sure if you really need to change anything. Comply will give you better sound isolation which results in deeper bass, but at the same time longevity of original blue buds will be better since after awhile a foam will start loosing it's shape. Plus when you are running outside it's not a totally great idea to have full sound isolation.
Personally I don't really like foam tips. I find that they alter and somewhat dull the sound. Even if I had fitting issues I'd try to find other tips which will be able to fit my ears instead of resorting to foam tips.
But it might be useful if your IEMs have issues with sibilance, however I rather find another alternative than sacrificing the overall sound just for the highs.

MEElectronics Sport Fi S6P

So my favorite sport IE just got better! The company just made some new ones with built in controls and mic! Not to mention the sick new color combination which I'm really digging! Awesome sound and crazy sound isolation make these great for the gym! All this plus a few more neat things make these a definite win. Here's a write up on these cool IE's that continue to amaze me.
MSRP: 59.99
In Box Contents: IE buds, extension cable, armband, plenty of tips in different sizes, manual, carrying case, and two shirt clips!

Look:
New color combination for these guys and it couldn't be any better - green and black! They scream workout every time I see them. Really vibrant green color is very attractive and yet they look like refined. Definite win here!
Fit:
As is customary from MEELECTRONICS fit will never be an issue. These come with loads of tips in all styles as shown in the pictures. Small medium large - single double triple - you'll find something that fits you. Now here's possibly one of my favorite features here - memory wire. This feature allows you to custom for the IEs around your ear and they'll keep that shape until you decide to change it. This makes them awesome for everything sport! You can run as fast as you want and jump as high as you can, they're staying! The pictures will show what I mean.
Durability:
I am finishing up my second week of using these guys working out everyday at least 1hr. They are marketed for sport and being sweat resistant. I have ruined several headphones due to sweat - I sweat buckets - but these are still going! I haven't noticed any problems on either the headphones or the remote even after many hours of sweat pouring on them. Gotta say I'm impressed!
Sound:
Beautiful! I love it. Are they studio monitor quality ? No lol and they're not intended to be. Are they the best sport IEs I've tried? Definitely! They give me good bass and very clear sound! After burn in period the sound got progressively better and clearer. Crazy sound isolation!!!! This is probably what makes the music sound even better. I like the sound on these better than my bose or my Sennhesier sports. Phone calls were very clear both ways although not as clear as earpiece. Mic was the same as talking on the phone as reported by people I called.
Major plus here was the cable being pretty silent compared to other IE buds. Cable noise drives me crazy!! Thankfully these didn't have that problem.
IMPORTANT!!!
Crazy sound isolation! That's a huge deal when you're in noisy environments and want to get away from the noise BUT it can be an issue if you're running out in the street with traffic so just a heads up! They're awesome at gym since its crazy noisy there and they have horrible taste in music lol great for studying at the library also even without anything playing
Only bad thing I can say is that I pushed the pause button a few times on some machines but that was my fault for not clipping them right. Also I pulled out the extension a few times but again I had them unclipped and was being careless. While using the armband (which you should if you're working out anyways) they're problem free .
By the way the armband is pretty cool. You can use the touch screen but it's still protected. In was able to fit my gs3, iPhone 5, and gs4 pretty well so that works out perfect.
These look great! But do you know of any workout buds WITHOUT isolation? I need some for biking near city traffic.

Any IEH (in ear headphones) will have a passive noise isolation due to a ear tip sealing. That improves the sound quality, especially for low end (bass) and keeps these from falling out of your ears. When you are dealing with active noise isolation, that's a different story. But with these, playing around with different ear tips might let "more" sound in. On a contrary, some people actually get Comply Foam tips to increase sound isolation and improve the fitment
Right, i understand all that. I guess I'm looking for something that doesn't go down into the canal. Right now i have some sennheiser/adidas earhooks that are perfect except they kill my turgis' after 30min

The volume is a slider, its universal to function regardless of apple or android. Multi-function button is universal as well, play/pause/call with a single click, double click to skip to the next track, and long press for Google NOW.
