Just use a back up from titanium it will put it back on your phone,,,, if you don't have one then flash a ics Rom install flash and titanium back up, back up flash, then install a jelly bean Rom and restore boom!!!! You got flash,,, truth is you don't really need flash since everyone pretty much uses html5

Am pretty new to flashing roms and mods. I've did the streak, captivate, s2 lte, and now just got the nexus.
Was wondering if I can just keep it stock and grab pieces of mods and flash em?
Thanks for any answers

Yes, you can use stock ROM, but you will have to get root access and unlock bootloader anyway. Also probably you will want to flash custom recovery which is very helpfull in cases when flashing some mods goes wrong.

So I can keep stock and just get mods then.... hard to choose with all the roms out there. Thanks for the response. Might just try a rom though cause this nexus starts to slow after after awhile

Mods can not be used on stock odexed ROM, you'll have to flash a Stock deodexed ROM, which isn't 100% factory stock. The ROM will be untouched other than deodexing the system files.
To install an OTA update, you must present the stock recovery on the galaxy

Yes, my bad. On SGS2 we had tons of mods/themes for stock-odexed ROMS. Thanks for correcting me.

There are other ways, but if he doesn't have CWM, just have him pull the update through the update manager in Android, then get Wugfresh's NexusToolkit and just have it unlock + root/install CWM and then just fwipe and either clean flash the stock JB ROM from Google or find yourself another ROM like ParanoidAndroid or AndroidHD Revolution. Like I said, there are other ways/combinations to do this, but this is the most automatic way to do it(read: lazy man way) and what I think is the easiest way as it requires very little user interaction with the process.

So I have been really wanting to run MIUI but but I'm on 4.2.2. I would greatly appreciate if someone could educate me on downgrading to 4.1.2 but with the ability to go back to 4.2.2 with no problem. Thanks in advance.

What are you running now? Stock? Are you unlocked and have a custom recovery? If so, just make a backup of your current Rom, give MIUI a shot, and if you don't like it, restore your backup.
If you are still on stock, you need to unlock and install a custom recovery. This will delete what you have on your phone, so backup any pictures, texts, etc. There is a guide in the forum. I'll paste it in another post.
Good luck.
Am I missing anything guys?

I think it's easier to use adb than a toolkit. Plus, you'll learn a ton of information that will help you when you get another phone, want to help a friend, accidentally flash the wrong file, etc...

No problem and good luck. If you have time, let me know how MIUI goes. I've always been a fan since I had it on my Nexus One awhile ago. Haven't flashed it here yet.

Hi everyone, I've been looking for a stock ROM that I can flash through clockwork mod, I dont have a backup anymore due to my house burning down about 1 week and a half ago. It would really help if someone could link me to a rooted rom that has the latest build for sprint along with the latest kernel, or to let me know if I can even return back to stock without losing root and using a PC
Thanks guys

But isn't that a custom ROM? I was looking for a just plain stock ROM, thats flashable through cwm

That is a stock rooted ROM with no extras. That is the latest android version.it is just like the ota update that would come from sprint. If you don't want to be rooted anymore than you Odin back to stock

Thanks dude, freakb18c1 sent me a link to a complete stock rooted ROM on sextape's site, but it was also uploaded here in xda as well. Here's the link for future reference for anyone else that's looking as well
