Just thought I'd share a little something I threw together for all the INVERTED FANS among us...
There's a pretty stable cm10 build for the T-Mobile GS3 that many of us have been using and as per usual, I couldn't leave well enough, alone... Personally, I hate white backgrouns in ANY of my apps so I took the latest JB GAPPS zip and added/replaced apps with inverted apps.
Instructions:
As per usual, make a back up before flashing this zip file!!!
On a clean install, flash your ROM then this modded Gapps zip then fix permissions and reboot.
If you already are running JB, just wipe cache and dalvik then flash the gapps, fix perms and reboot.

Inverted apps have black background with white text instead of white background and black text. The inverted apps save battery because black backgrounds.

Just checking, JB gapps can only be used on 4.1.x? Or can they be used on 4.0.x too??
Thanks

Light text on dark backgrounds. It also saves a little battery on SAMOLED displays, because brighter colors require more energy to emit light, vs darker tones.
(anyone who's already running these inverted gapps: are there any glitches from other unchanged styled text still being dark, and hence too dark to see?)
Anybody else getting crashes for email and exchange services on cm10?

Awesome thanks a lot!!!
This will only work on JB Roms... You can extract the inverted apk's and install them on ICS Roms as well.
Anyone that's getting force closes with email, gmail or having market issues needs to go to the app manager and clear the cache and force stop in email, exchange, gmail, play store, and Google framework then reboot their phones! Should fix the issue.

These aren't just "light colored font with a black background" the email apks are black with white font but I always try to incorporate black and ICS blue colors. Anyway...They all look awesome. Back your ROM up and do a clean install with the modded gapps... You won't be disappointed.

My next contribution: I like black, and I think it could help the battery out, so I have created a flashable zip that includes the following inverted apps: Calendar, Contacts, Email, Mms, Playstore, and Youtube. Most apps are the work of travp624 over on rootzwiki, I just optimized them and made a flashable zip. I pulled the Mms from the Nexus S 4g stock rom, just inverted it. Also, I liked the stock background for the dialer, so I changed it from black to gradient.
I dont use gmail because I think it wastes battery, I just add my gmail account to my regular email app. I dont use talk, gvoice, or google plus, as these are all apks that require sync and data, etc., so none of those are included.
If you install it with a rom, install this after the rom is installed.
If you install it on an already installed rom, MAKE SURE YOU FLASH AN ICS KERNEL AFTERWARD. I dont want people to say their phone wont boot after they install this.....
UPDATED 5/20/2012 - Updated Playstore 3.5.19 and added Gmail
UPDATED 6/22/2012 - v3 works on CM9 ALPHA 5 and AOKP Build 39 ***Thanks go to Barnacles10 for the MMS.apk, give it to him here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683088***
UPDATED 7/30/2012 - v4 should work on CM9 alpha6, I no longer have an E4GT, so let me know. Updated Gmail, Market, Youtube, Contacts, Google Music.

Could you add Mms 160 split? A lot of us AOKP users have trouble sending texts without it. Also, I would appreciate it if you also added Play Music, Gtalk, Gmail, etc. maybe in a separate zip so not everyone needs to download

It has the 160 split, that is why I pulled it from the ns4g. If you go into mms, then the settings, there is a check box that says "split counter" if you check that box, you enable 160 split.
I dont use any of the other apps that you requested, so Im not going to invert/post them

Look in your rom. Playstore comes in two different apk names, the one in the zip is vending.apk, if you have phonesky, or whatever it is, you will probably have two markets. Other than that, I dont know.
I think we need a inverted color gmail app for Galaxy S III, remember black backgrounds help save battery life, if we could change the gmail to black background with white letters instead of white background with black letters that would be a big help!!!
P.S. I can not build android apps so this idea is free to steal all I ask is to credit me on the idea that you put into action!!!!

It's included in that zip flashable through CWM!
EDIT: What we do need is a blue and white gmail app icon. The red one doesnt match ICS or JB. I know themes can change this but if people want to stick with the default theme then they can get the blue and white gmail app to replace the red one.

I didn't want to start a brand new thread on this so I will post my question here.
I have both the stock email app and Gmail app installed. Do most people just disable the stock email app? Right now when someone sends me an email, I get the notification in both email and stock app which is slightly annoying.
Or do you remove their email addresses from the stock email app?
Thanks.

It takes a lot of work so I won't be making a blue one. Don't worry there will be no shortage of blue themes once the official version comes out. I prefer something different.
If nothing has changed then you haven't flashed it. You may need to mount the sdcard in recovery first. Check the log located in the universal flasher folder. If your signature is correct and you are using CM10 then it won't work (correctly) either.
