Quick Anker battery review!!! - Galaxy S III Accessories

I recently purchased 2200 mah Anker battery.
First of all, I had recycled this battery 2x so far it is holding up very well. I seem to perform as good as OEM if not better. I weight the battery and is tad lighter than OEM. I can't recall the the exact number but it was really insignificant.
Here are the results do far.
Usage was light to moderate use. More on the light usage side.

Thanks for sharing! Seems Anker S3 battery can last for a whole day under normal using.
i used to have a sensation battery from Anker last year, and it gave extra 4 hours juice compared to the original one.:fingers-crossed:

btw, searched on Amazon, it's on the first page

seems great
Hahah! Good stuff! I've used several Anker batteries in the past for other devices and I've always been impressed:highfive:

i wish people would review the battery under LTE/4G usage rather than using wifi, thats the drainer there.

Agreed

I hope they make a 2500-2600 battery just slightly thicker than stock... I really want more than 100mah extra. Nice mini review though thanks!

My Anker battery gets delivered today. I wished it had NFC but for $9 it can't be beat as a spare battery in need.
Anyone know of a decent spare battery charger that they've used for their S3? I see a few but they come with batteries (which I don't need).

I bought a spare charger from RND Power Solutions.....looks exactly the same as the Kidigi charger that is out there. Unfortunately it will not charge batteries to 100 percent. This seems to be the issue with most of the aftermarket spare chargers out there right now. According to RND, this is because of the different voltage the S3 uses for overcharge protection and they are working on a solution.
You can however buy the Samsung spare charger without the extra battery if you wish. This is the only charger I would trust at the moment:

Your link is to a package that includes an OEM Battery.
I purchased that here:
http://www.thecellguru.com/Products/71620
I never heard of them, but their resellerrating score is very high. They were pretty close to me and shipped immediately. My order is due to arrive today.
I think you can also get it at AT&T (in store) for about the same price after a 25% coupon that's floating around.

You guys have any problems with your Ankers charging just to 90%? I have a external anker wallchrger and when it says done charging, I pop the battery in the phone and it's only charged till 90%. I pop a USB charger to it and it will charge to 100$. Its weird, wonder if anybody else is having this problem. Other than that, these batteries do the job and last as long if not longer than the OEM ones.

Clearly the writing on the outside of these batteries are lies, since they do not last as long as they should.
However, for the cheap price - it does supply you with those extra critical hours you might need.
Also, the charger is very handy and also works with the stock battery! (hopefully does no harm!)
I ordered a 3600mAh battery from eBay last week. I don't suppose you have tried one of those yet have you?

Heey Navalynt!! Good to see you here man, rocked a couple of your mods for the Atrix!
About this battery, do you seriously expect it to make a difference? You won't be able to fit any case on the phone either. On the other hand, 16$ isn't the end of the world..
(Also, how do you charge them both, suppose you'll need a cradle of some sort?)
Thanks for posting, never did think these sketchy batteries were any good.
I ordered a 2 billion mAh battery from a Chinese located eBay seller, it doubles as a car battery too. Should probably last an extra 30-40 seconds longer than my OEM 1750 mAh battery from Samsung.

Re calibrating the 1900mAh battery today, will post updated stats later.
Added the re-calibration of the 1900mAh. First reading wasn't bogus, the battery lasted even less second time round! ~6 hours!
So in other words, whatever it's rated at, cut it in half if its cheap crap.
Any chance you going to do the Official Extended Battery for GSM?
I will probably order one in the future but not immediately. However I would appreciate if someone calibrated their extended battery and posted a BatteryLeft screen here, as it would most likely incline me to buy one quicker!!

Not worth it. Just buy two OEM batteries...
I don't believe in aftermarket batteries from my many experiences of it messing up my phone...it has to do something with the inconsistency of the voltage. That's just me though...
If there is a good reliable aftermarket battery out there I'm open to check it out....
I ordered one should get it by monday the 6th. will test it out and reply with results it was only 20 bucks so my hopes are low but we will see how it turns out

My friend got one of these. Its the same as the 12 dollar GTMax's, no diff from stock really.
Mugen batteries are probably worth the investment if you use your phone that heavily.
that's odd, cuz i got the qcell galaxy nexus one and also a gtmax version. the qcell one last longer than the gtmax one. perhaps it's luck of the draw. I'm going to give this one a try and see how it is

experience with qcell 3650mAh
I tried this battery out for about 3 weeks and did get noticbly longer battery life about 23 hours+ with heavy to moderate usage so IMO it was worth it ($10) altough i hated the extended battery cover the battery did keep my phone on relatively longer. only issue after about a month I cant charge the battery with my cable anymore, not sure if its the cable or not so im back to stock.
Extended battery 23-25 hours of heavy usage
Stock battery 12-15 hours of heavy usage
Hope this helps Hit thanks if if does

$8 3800mAh Battery From Amazon Review

Hello xda,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0084WZ99S/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00
I recently purchased an extended battery from Amazon that only cost 8 bucks. At first I said, who would be stupid enough to put this in their phone? Well, turns out I was wrong.
I bought this battery in hopes that it would bring my 2100mAh battery (the official Samsung extended battery) from a 12 hour day to at least 24 hour day. It did not only do that, but it exceeded that.
First off, my phone is running Vicious's variant of CM10. I'm also running Faux's 19 Kernel and I've under clocked my CPU to 912 mhz. If I REALLY see a difference in the speed, I'll just put it back up to 1.2ghz. I will enclose pictures of the phone day by day of the battery usage and how the phone looks. The phone feels great to me! I'm that kind of weird person who likes to have a bulky device in my hand.
With Amazon Prime, I got the phone shipped to me in 2 days. Freaking awesome for 8 bucks total.
Of course not all can be good with this battery. The back battery door does fit but the color is really off compared to the other backs of the phone. Just looks a little weird but I'm use to it.
Typing on the phone does take some getting use to as its a whole lot bigger but that can be expected with any battery of its size.
Below I will be attaching pictures of what the phone looks like with the battery on and my daily usage.

I use my phone naked. I think with an extended battery AND a case, I'd probably kill my self. It already makes the device thick enough and I'm not worried about dropping my device. I take good care of my baby
A 3800mah (no NFC) battery came with my most recent Galaxy Nexus. After watching 1 hour of the Google I/O YouTube video, it used 10% of the battery. So, 10 hours of YouTube on a charge.

Will the anker batteries for the vibrant work with our phone?

Hey I was curious if the 1800mah anker batteries will work without issue with our phone. I know I won't gain anything using those over the OEM but I lost mine and now I'm stuck using the 1500MAH batteries from my old vibrant and it really sucks. Plus these are only about $8 more than the OEM plus it comes with a second battery and charger for the battery itself so I can keep a charged spare with me at all times
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I dont know why they wouldn't. If it works with the original epic/fascinate etc then it should be the same size battery as our phone.
Yes they work just fine! Anker got rave reviews over in the Evo forums, thought I'd give em ago with my ET. Just received these (free shipping) today. So far, so good!

Initial full charge drain has been markedly better than my 1 year old stock battery (whatever that's worth), but in all fairness I really can't comment on life as I literally just got them this afternoon.
They do fit just like the OEM & my phone powered up & has been running just fine for the last 5 hours.
I'm going to have to pick up a pair. I really wanna go back and run the ASOP JB but I was losing far to much battery life even with the placebo diet pill. Hell even with Calk's v3.0 I am using a lot of charge quick I can only assume its because I'm having to use the 1500MAH instead of the OEM 1800
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I forgot to mention also, as an added bonus, you can adjust the charging pins & mounting plate/bracket on the included wall charger to accommodate practically any phone battery. Think of it as a universal phone wall charger.
Awesome I'm gonna grab a pair on Tuesday when I get some money

I also saw that before I ordered these, & after doing some research, decided to take a chance on them anyway. No regrets here at all. In fact, they're working really good. Been about a week since I received these & after about 5-6 charge/discharge cycles on each battery now, mine are working as good (possibly marginally better) as stock was when new.:beer:
my oem battery seems to be going to crap so im taking a gamble on the anker battery. I guess for $10, its worth it.

Same thing happened to me with the flickering screen (at around 50-60% battery), then shutoff. Took the plunge on Ferocity Mobile battery from ebay and so far so good. Did 3 complete full charge/discharge cycles and they perform like a new stock battery. Two batteries and a charger for $10 delivered. Great deal.Took about 3 days to get across country.
Good results. I'm curious how long those batteries will last. I bought a few no name Chinese batteries and they capped out after a month. I'm sure these Anker batteries are made in China too but hopefully it'll be better.

Did anyone buy their batteries from laptopmate on amazon? I got an email Thursday and the shipping number provided still isn't tracking anything on its not Sunday

I got mine from there & it never did show any tracking info. They did, however, show up in my mailbox in 2 business days after I placed my order so....

Might be a good investment for me. I have my old(er) Vibrant with an epicly cracked screen with me if I'm out more than a day (or trying ROMs) to charge and switch.

Not a bad idea.
I have to say, it's definitely handy to have a fully charged battery available if you might need to do a nandroid or flash a ROM in a moment's notice and you're getting low on the battery that's in your phone.
Anker batteries are VERY good. They outperform my stock battery almost every charge. just be sure to properly charge them and discharge them the first few times you use it.
Your mileage may vary,
There is another brand, hyperion, and while generally i was getting ok battery life with these batteries, maybe, on par with the stock battery, they have turned to junk and last maybe 8 hours if im lucky. they just seem to drain even when your phone is idle. I highly recommend anker batteries for a good replacement.
Here you go guys. Not too bad. Running the Anker:

Long story short: It really seemed fishy at first, then I had used the battery for 11+ hours and battery life is at 33% atm :good:
I watched youtube vids for at least half an hour, played real racing for an hour and every often I kept on browsing the web. Battery is AWESOME and looks like it really is 1950mAh. My brand new Samsung original battery lasts shorter than this battery
The battery comes in a nice bubble wrap with a good quality sticker protecting the battery pins. Really can not understand still how something like this can be this high quality yet this inexpensive. Gives my $29.99 Original battery a HUGE run for its money
Get yours here for $3--> http://www.ebay.ca/itm/251307473117?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Hey. The battery works like a dream
2 weeks and no problems getting 8-12 hours with some youtubing and gaming. Using JellyBam 10.1, it took 3 weeks to come to canada

Hey, compared to the original1650mah battery from Samsung, this seems to last about 1 hour or 2 more. I am using the battery at the moment

Then it seems that 1950mah is only sticker on it, 1-2h difference is coming from that the original battery you had is old and new one is just fresh...

Used this battery for almost 2 weeks, so far so good. :good:
thanx for the info on the battery.. will get one for me and one for my wife..
i bought this battery a month ago nothing special
just a cheap second battery and in no way 1950 mah
don't get me wrong for 3 euro it is awesome
The only fear is from explosion or something like that with replaced battery.
Just bought 2 from a seller on fleabay uk at £3 each, difference is mine dont have the samsung brand but instead have smaller "For Galaxy S2" printed on both sides, maybe samsung is finally doing something about all the fake sammy batteries being sold and genuine buyers getting stung, i fully understand that oem batteries are in most cases cheaper and can be as good as the original but if it says samsung it should mean genuine samsung and not have a half truth half way down a sellers listing saying packed in bubble wrap not a genuine product and no mention of any warranty whatsoever, still fleabay wont enforce the "genuine non genuine" listings because they claim they cannot police every seller !doesnt stop them taking their fees from every seller though.
haha awesome
yap, its cheap ,
I buy some different brand for S2,
but stock bat. usually have more cycle life than other :cyclops:
Huh! Going to order this..
