Hi Im A Htc Sense Rom User, I Like Sense A Lot especially the links and it lets me stays organized.The Problem Is My Internal Memory Is Small (1.1 gb)
I Tried Cyanogenmod and i liked it a lot
the only thing im missing well everything in htc sense i want the speed of cyanogenmod but i keep on returning to sense roms.
my question is: is there a way i can replace the htc sense stuff in CM?
like the camera
flip to silent
smart dialer
htc widgets
contact linkup or at least to sync my contacts facebook pictures
sense keyboard
please help me i want cyanogenmod so bad but at least replacements for the sense stuff cz the sense rom are big in size ( 250 mb) and cyanogen is small & fast.
Take a closer look at these Apps:
like the camera ---> Camera360
flip to silent ---> LLama
smart dialer --> Contapps
htc widgets --> which? / what are they doing?
contact linkup or at least to sync my contacts facebook pictures --> contapps
sense keyboard --> ThickButtons
How many apps do you have installed? Because if you're filling it up with 1.1GB of apps, you're doing well!
My recommendation is to use a Sense ROM, then use a ROM cleaner script on top to clear out the stuff you don't use, giving you more space. Because Sense is a full framework, not just a few bits and pieces running on top, you are unlikely to find any replacements for Cyanogenmod that work quite as well.

Is there anyway I can get the cynogenmod phone.apk to work with Sense?
I'm coming from mid-ranged and low-end phones to the DHD and all of them use phones.apks similar to the cyanogenmod one. It's been over two weeks and I still uncomfortable with Sense phone.apk.

Well i think launcher pro did the job as for the widgets like sense clock and sense calender

this is what i recommend too, just strip out everything from the rom you dont want and then flash it
rather than starting at the ground up find replacements for everything, start with the finished article and start slimming it down

Well I Will Give You A Suggestion Try To backup the cyanogenmod dialer in titanium backup and restore it in any rom u want. Always backup first if it didnt work try finding something in the market. And i will try this and i will post a link or tell you if another way worked bro.
I went from an HTC hero which was my first android phone to an optimus v, my preferences for replacing most of the sense feeling is launcher pro for the Widgets and go contacts for the smart dialer/contact linkage. There is a patched HTC_ime somewhere on this forum that will install on a non-sense rom but I can't remember where or search it out right now.

Just search HTC IME into Google, first result V27, but it isn't updated anymore. That said, I use it, and it does work very well indeed.

I am using the Galaxy Nexus on ICS and like my phones before i like to be able to customize the screen using Launcher Pro and Go Launcher EX, however i have found that after a while of using these apps they seem to stop the messaging app from launching and i just get a black screen. Sometimes this clears after pressing the messaging link about 15-20 times.
If i uninstall these apps then i never have an issue with it. I have emailed both developers and had no reply.
Anyone else experienced this?
Those launchers are not updated so you shouldn't use them until they are.

As for your question install the newset ADWLauncher EX v1.3.3.55 its now fully compatable with ICS and makes everything soo much more useable than the stock launcher.

Go Launcher works fine for me.
Personally ive never liked adw which is why i use launcher pro but i might give the new version a try. I cant wait til the manufacturers rollout ics cos theres a few apps i use that dont work properly yet.
As for the issue personally i have found that on launcher pro and go launcher that this black screen only happens when i exit the messaging app using the back key, if i exit using the home button it never happens.

I have just put on ParanoidAndroind ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727657) - it's JB version. However, turned out that it does not have a camera app. I have read the posts, and downloaded the camera fix that should've fixed the camera (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1727657&page=110), but this does not return the camera app itself. I had an app that I bought ages ago (Paper Camera) from Play Store, and indeed I can use my HOX to take pictures with it.
I am wondering though, is there a stock JB camera apk out there that I can get? And while we're at it, could you suggest a camera app (free preferably) that I can find that has features as close to the original HOX sense camera?

try going to the camera app through lockscreen
This problem was there on CM10 also in early stages as camera was working through lockscreen but there was no camera app in app drawer
You can try Owain's Domination CM10, it has AOKP & Paranoid features too
You can also try CM10 or AOKP jellybean ROM

seeing that the revolt thread has been dead for a while, thought i would post the question here also. On the 8/6 build, the camera FCs when you take a picture, only saving a grey pic. Has anyone found a workaround/fix for this? ive tried other camera apps from the play store, but get they all freeze up when taking a picture.
side question, anyone find a working cyanogenmod focal apk?

i am using Pimpdroid 2.5.0 20140323 on my Tab3 10.1 3G GT5200 which is working quite good. Unfortunately I cannot get the camera and the gallery to work. Neither the camera which comes with the rom nor the AOSP Kitkat Camera is working. All of them apps keep crashing once they are started.
Though I did not find anything concerning problems with camera in the Pimpdroid thread i assume camera should be working.
Is there anybody facing similar problems and who can give me a clue what I can do to make camera an gallery working?

if not, does it say anything like no pictures of files when it's up and running ?
it seems like gallery and camera work together like that in some roms

search forums for how to port roms to your device, you have to scroll down a ways
looking for the gallery force closes fix
there might be something useful in that
also on your sdcard should be a folder DCIM andin that another folder .thumbnails
