well here it is boys
test between these 3 battery
Seido weight: 2.8oz
Mugen weight: 3.2oz
Testing
all done the same way to keep it consistence as possible. wifi on (in discover mode), bluetooth on, screen to max brightness, navigation on, play a very long ass youtube.
Screen on result
stock: 2 hour and 5 min
Seido: 3 hours and 40 min
Mugen: 4 hours and 12 min
Note
-Mugen has a kick stand
-seido is 30 bucks cheaper
-stock blow ass compare to these big boys
-case on the seido is better feel but thats MHO
- when two battery are together the Mugen is heavier but not uncomfortable
- the two battery fit in my pocket fine, but i dont wear skinny jeans like gay ass guys or cute ass girls.
-Mugen case look like a bossss! (for 100 ya bet your ass it is)
lmk if you have any question..
seido or mugen is now up for sale to fund for my SGIII MUGEN lol yes i bought a new phone.

What about when you use it normally? what's the difference between seidio and mugen? 100 maH could make that much differnece?
Normal use is about 1-2 hoyrs but what is normal use you know ? This is more realistic test

No I understand that you did a more realistic test but at the same time you did a test on the most optimized setting designed for batter draining. So I wanted to know how much difference it would make in a normal day to day use which I imagine it would be a amplified difference of just mere 40 minutes. For example I have a seidio which last me about a day and a half. And you say mugen lasts only about 1-2 hours more? Probably not worth the extra 30 bucks no?
As far as mah goes I would imagine the 2 most reputable battery companies would keep their integrity intact and not lie about it. I dont really see the reason to because you can find so many different brands having 3400+ mah at a much lower cost so it tells me the material to mass produce these are not that costly.

to answer your first question that 40 min under extreme testing so in real world for me personaly would be 1-2 hours. I use my phone pretty hard core, they die within 18 hour so for you the mugen may last 2 day, its all really relative to how much you use.
well heres the thing, how do you test for battery effective mah, you cant, you just have to trust them. Seido claim their battery is 3800 which is 100mah less than Mugen but they perform 10-15% less than the Mugen capacity which lead me to believe their battery is 3500 mah at most.

I thought about that too, but with the problems I'm having, and all the different configs I've tried, my battery gets worse and worse, so I think it may be shot. Even if this is as good as a stock battery, it's cheaper than buying one from Sprint and could potentially be better than a stock.

i just returned the seidio 1750 mah battery, didn't make my battery last that much longer, at most i got an extra 3 hours. Also considering the 3500mah seidio was only a few bucks more, i decided to get that instead.
I don't know how many of you guys are from the MD area but there's a store in the local mall in Anne Arundel and they have or can get about any size/manufacturer battery. Its Cyberion I think, anyway good service reasonable prices and if I have issues I have an actual retailer to deal with. Ive been burned on line too many times I like having a person to deal with when issues or if issues come up.

I don't believe in aftermarket batteries from my many experiences of it messing up my phone...it has to do something with the inconsistency of the voltage. That's just me though...
If there is a good reliable aftermarket battery out there I'm open to check it out....

experience with qcell 3650mAh
I tried this battery out for about 3 weeks and did get noticbly longer battery life about 23 hours+ with heavy to moderate usage so IMO it was worth it ($10) altough i hated the extended battery cover the battery did keep my phone on relatively longer. only issue after about a month I cant charge the battery with my cable anymore, not sure if its the cable or not so im back to stock.
Extended battery 23-25 hours of heavy usage
Stock battery 12-15 hours of heavy usage
Hope this helps Hit thanks if if does

Is the 2300 a Galaxy S II battery? That's what I'm seeing in some goog searches. Looks like their replacement for ours is 1850. But if it fits, hey.
Lucky you, i had to stick a piece of paper on the top left of my battery pocket in my phone in order for the contacts to align.
There's actually a thread about this battery here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445938
So far I'm getting a little over 24 hours with little-moderate use on ICS passion.
In the wide majority of test I've seen of Andida batteries, they always add somewhere between 30-50% of their actual capacity. In short, just about every third party manufacturer overrates their batteries and only the OEM numbers are accurate

Apparently some people can't get the contacts to line up correctly and the battery doesn't work out for them.. so it might be a gamble for you.
1800/1500 = 20% increase
2300/1500 = 53% increase
I'm pleased with the batteries performance and understanding of the issues related to fitment. For $20...it was well worth it to me. My phone can stay away from the charger throughout the day.

I understand on paper it should be a 53% increase compared to the stock battery, but is it showing a 50% in reality? I know samsung batteries are legit and should be close to the labeled mah rating. I don't know a thing about andida. I just don't to end up with a battery that might not even fit and is only really putting out like 1900mah.
This is a huge improvement for me. My phone used to be dead after 10 hours unplugged.
Another oddity since putting in this battery, my GPS started to work and lock on again... maybe the pressure it puts onto the phone helped the contact...weird positive side effect for me (I've not bothered to do the GPS contact fixes yet)
Sorry I don't have the fancy Battery stats screens that others seem to have :\
My 2300 andida is running about 14 hours as well. I can get through most of the day without thinking about my charger.
I'm on ics one comsics rc3.1 and I get more than 36 hours on light use, more than 24 hours on moderate use and like eight hours on real heavy use. My heavy usage usually involved full account sync and surfing the web on the mobile network non stop with screen on 75-90% of the time.

Even of the contacts don't fit, you can put paper on the top left corner of the battery socket. And somehow, the battery doesnt need the paper later on. I think the battery gets "used" to the battery socket...

Have the battery from about a month.
I've got to admit it is nothing special ... from my experience it gives just a few more hours stand by time.
I'm using 2G mode / full sync and with the stock battery I got around 4 days of stand by time ... after change of battery it is something like 4 days and 6 hours stand by.
If you play with your phone or talk a lot you won't notice the extra mAh IMHO.

Ok maybe nothing special. I replaced my defective one in my SGS1, it's € 12,30 which is about 3 times cheaper than an original. But this battery is actually 1800 mAh and I get about a day extra standby in normal use and about half a day extra in heavy use. That's special enough for me and still going strong after 8 months.

Well, compared to the original it is only an increase of about 14%.. 2400 mAh instead of 2100 mAh, so you should not expect miracles to happen. It will certainly give you some extra hours, so you'll notice only a difference if you frequently need those few hours more.
I myself have a polarcell for my i9000 (sgs), which offers 20% more than the original and I must say, it really does make a difference!
I personally like most that there is a NFC version besides a version without NFC.
I was wondering about the performance of the NFC antenna, did anyone test this already?

i get up for work at 3am and my s3 is unplugged from that point till about 3pm when it needs to be plugged in (15% or less). 12 hours is fine with me because in that time i've had LTE on, google now and all gps on, multiple email accounts and apps syncing every hour and texting also. if you're doing about the same, then you might have to do a bunch of compromising to get better battery time. i'm not willing to do that.
So I am guessing that there is no extended battery then?

There are extended batteries but just look around. To my knowledge there are not currently any stock extended batteries available (hopefully soon) but there are plenty of others. Just do some research first. If you do not mind giving up the slimness of the phone (which you are probably not worried about for any decent extended battery) you could get a case such as mophie jucie or powerskin which have built in batteries (and I think they are NFC friendly). While it is not an extended battery you can turn them on to recharge the battery and effectively getting you throughout your day.
Theres a slim 2300MaH Battery, called ZeroLemon relatively cheap 20$ for two of em and a spare charger. Then theres the stock samsung 3000MaH which includes a different battery plate since its bigger. To get better battery life, try a few full charges/cycles with certain kernel settings and rom. Then theres also huge 4000MaH + batteries which i refuse to get because well, it takes away the user experience. If you really must have gps/autp sync and those background task, I'm really going to suggest you go back to apple. They do one heck of a job for that. Battery life is a lot better on iOS with those background task's for some reason.
Zerolemon has a 7000mah battery around 30$

I don't have any experience with the battery myself so i would read the customer reviews.
I have and have used Seidio's ext. batt's on my last two Galaxy phones. Somehow, they made the battery for the S3 thinner than was on the S2. Also Seidio's back plates have their "soft touch" coating which gives you grip or non-slip properties.

Google genuine Samsung galaxy s3 extended battery. Mobile fun has them in stock for about $60. Really slim profile. I had a qcell extended battery that I pop in when traveling $25.

Buy a backup OEM battery... Best option as it will pay for itaelf if you must have it last throughout the day

If you don't care about the size get the 4500 mah one from gorillagadgets.com. like $25. I've had it since September and I get 4-5 hours screen time with Facebook, 3 emails syncing, Netflix, and texting all day. If you follow their instructions on breaking in the battery, you should be good. Best $25 I've spent on this phone

I picked up the Anker 4400 mAh battery a few months ago for about $25 and it's been great. I can get almost 2 days out of it depending on my usage and if I'm on wifi or HSPA+. Around 7 hours of screen on time as well.

Regular use day for me
@shakewell, what's the total screen time on during this discharge? i'm curious as i'm using my stock 2100 mAh battery and get this same battery life with 5+ hours of screen on time.
kernel/kernel tweaks make all the difference
Just buy the lemon...
From what I can gather, the ZeroLemon batteries are the way to go. I've heard nothing but great things about them and if you can get past the added form factor, the 7000mAh battery is able to last more than an entire day, if you manage things properly. They sell out fast on Amazon, but they are cheaper than most any other battery for the S3. And on top of all that, you'll be supporting an American business!
You can find them on Amazon.
