can I use bluetooth GPS and stream bluetooth audio at the same time? - HTC One X

I use a bluetooth GPS receiver in my car for two reasons
1. It has an athermic windscreen and the bluetooth GPS with an antenna in the back window gets a much better signal
2. I use it as a trigger for a tasker script so that the phone knows that it is in my car
I am thinking of putting a bluetooth audio receiver in the car as well so that I can stream music from the phone to the car speakers
Is the One-X capable of simultaneously communicating with two different bluetooth devices?
thanks

gps test?
Which to do gps test my one x ?

I use an app called "Bluetooth GPS Provider" which works brilliantly. I think that is what your question meant?

Mine will connect to hands free and my obd2 reader at the same time via bluetooth. Do you have a way of testing before buying?

i think if it uses different protocols for each device then it would work
ie if one used a2dp and the other uses whatever gps uses, then yeah i think it would work , but best bet is to test it out first

GPS (Co-Pilot) commands via bluetooth?

I have the O2 Orbit with Co-Pilot software that came with it. I connect the Orbit via bluetooth to the intercom system on my motorcycle. The phone connects automatically every time and I can receive calls as I ride, and listen to WMP (though I prefer to use my ipod).
I set the Co-pilot running the other day but none of the commands would come through the bluetooth connection into my helmet. Do I have a setting wrong or will this not work?
Thanks in advance.
You want btaudio installed to the unit IIRC, have a read of this thread where there is also a download for the plug in to enable the nav voices out through the headset - Mike

Thanks mike.
I have installed it but it doesn't seem to route the audio through the bt to my helmet, but I'll try again later. Do I need to activate btaudio every time I want to use it or will it run automatically?
I couldn't find the 'plug' you mentioned above...
you need to turn the app on if you go to the bluetooth menu and while the helmet is turned on touch and hold the helmet bluetooth name and select set as bt audio if this is not present the use mikes method it all depends on wheather the helmets bluetooth is compatable with the artimis

Two ways to do this - get a bluetooth headset that supports A2DP streaming ( I have a Sony DR-BT30Q) then all audio comes through the headset.
Alternatively, use VJvolubilis (http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis) - you'll need to set up a shortcut to run it with -agon to stream all audio through your bluetooth device. It worked for me on a BMW car kit!
Thanks guys.
Alix, I'll try that when I get home. The b/t must be compatible as I can receive phone calls on the bike and listen to WMP.
TT, I have no choice but to keep the headset I have as it is part of the wired intercom system and is fitted into my helmet. The b/t connectivity comes through a dongle supplied by the intercom manufacturer and sits beneath the seat with the intercom controller. It works fine with some apps, but just not Co-Pilot.
Not sure what this means :

Sprint TP2 and AutoA2DP Wireless Stereo?

I was using this awesome little app with my TP1 and it worked great with my car audio (Pioneer - DEH-9800BT). Since I got the TP2 I've been trying to get A2DP Wireless Stereo to setup automatically when the phone is paired but doesn't seem to work. I love the new bluetooth app htc has now. it makes everything work great w/ my car auto. I'm even able to use voice command with it through the car audio/mic
My only problem is that im not able to get the A2DP Wireless Stereo to work to sync automatically.
Does anyone know if there is another app like this that woks w/ the TP2
Thanks

[Q] bluetooth

Android rocks on the tilt
any update on Bluetooth?
Bluetooth headset and music both work for me.
I haven't tried other potential bluetooth uses (keyboard, mouse, etc).
What bluetooth use cases are you thinking of that maybe don't work?
It was really necessary to open a new thread for this question
Car BT works perfectly.

[Q]Connecting to multiple Bluetooth devices

I just started going back to the gym and I use Bluetooth headphones with my note 2. I'm debating on buying a Bluetooth heart rate monitor to use with a couple of workout apps to track my calories being burned.
I'm wondering.. will I be able to connect both devices simultaneously?
In the car I connect to my head unit, cobra iradar and obd2 scanner. So I don't think you should Have a problem
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 4
I figured it wouldn't be an issue. Thanks

how....as far as i know....one connection can be made at a time; as soon as you connect one BT, the other got disconnected.
just like wifi and hotpost; your phone either is on wife mode to get internet connection from other or your phone is on wifi-hotpost mode to provide internet connection to others

You can simultaneously connect and use the devices only if they use different BT Profiles. For example, I routinely connect the Note2 to my car's BT receiver for phone calls (Hands-Free Profile, HFP), MP3 playback to the car's speakers (A2DP), and navigation using an external GPS device (Serial Port Profile, SPP). Works fine.

Android Auto not using car GPS Antenna?

Hey Guys, i searched located a few threads but cant find a definite answer...
I got Ford Sync 3 with AA.
My car headunit have factory GPS software and antenna on the car.
Now i have updated my headunit to firmware with AA and CP.
When connecting AA everything works fine, but when i go to Google Maps it always require me to turn my phone GPS to High Accuracy (on) mode.
i was under the impression if my car have built in antenna it will utilize that...
Is it a case where for my car specifically (Ford 2016 Mustang) if built in NAVI is off then there is no power to the GPS antenna? or is it a setting i cant seem to find within AA?
thank you.
I am using a Pioneer headunit connected with the car's built-in GPS antenna, and I frequently use Android Auto. My experience is that AA used the phone's GPS antenna, not the one connected to the headunit (which should have better reception).
AA very probably uses the phone's antenna because the good people at Google expect some headunits to not have a GPS antenna connected (after all no GPS on your headunit is a major selling point for using AA), and they have no way to check that by software.
