I used it yesterday. Lost my accounts and shortcuts, but apps and data were restored. I'm sure if you back up system too, the restore would work, but not recommended if you restore to different base from backup.

[Q] Best all-in-one Backup solution?

I searched the forum but didn't' see anything.
What is the best single app to use for a whole backup solution? Not as in backing up the ROM itself. But for backing up call logs, text messages, apps & cache, desktop configuration with widget shortcuts, etc. etc. I know there are various apps to do various types of backups. But I want a single app that does it all. Am willing to pay for it.
Something that after flashing a new ROM, will go through and restore EVERYTHING.
Any suggestions?

AFAIK, Titanium does not back up call logs and SMS, as requested in my OP.
Edit, it can backup all system data. But this is never a reliable restore in my experience. Which is why I forgot about it because I stopped using it a looong time ago.

And Callogs + a bunch of other settings..
IF somehow(highly unlikely) the backup is corrupted,u can extract your nandroid backup and restore it from there and u can add an server account eg dropbox/box and upload your most important backup..
Nothing compares to titanium b. Just read on how to use is properly
Well, I appreciate the TB suggestions. But let me re-prioritize my request.
The app needs to be newbie friendly since it'll be used by non-Android geeks like ourselves. I intend for it to be used by some of my friends to do on their own from time to time, in preparation of me re-flashing new ROM's, etc. for them.
I don't want to wait forever to back up stuff before I flash. I want it to already be done by the time I get there to help with the flashing.
use titanium, setup a schedule for them and let it do it's thing. mine backups new and modified data every morning at 4am.
would take all of 2 minutes for you to write down the steps for them
tita backup is the way to go:good:
you could try my backup root/pro - however I find its not quite as reliable as titanium

I own both TB and MyBackup Pro and MBP is much easier to use and backs up call logs and SMS more easily.
can anyone provide some steps to backup SMS and call logs in TB?
I've had a look but can't get it working

Here is an interesting one for advanced users. It looks too complicated for newbies like my friends, but I'm kinda digging it for myself.

The My Backup looks very simple to use. Could be exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.
Anyone have any complaints about it?

Just FYI: That ultimate backup pro is part of Rom Toolbox Pro (has a lot of different apps combined in to one - backup included)

Seriously?? I've had Rom Toolbox Pro forever and never even realized it had the backup functions. I just reinstalled it. I'd forgotten it had so many cool utilities all wrapped into one package.
Still not something I'd give my newbie friends though.

How to enable google restore?

Usually when I flash a new rom google automatically restores all my apps. Somehow when I installed the latest rom google did not automatically restored my apps so I had to manually install them one by one. When the phone booted up from the first time after flashing, I am pretty sure I check marked the google backup and resotre, but somehow it did not happen.
Anyway is there a way to enforce google restore without having to cleanup everything and start from scratch again?
anybody?
Google restore is a mystery. Sometimes it works sometimes not so much. I don't know if anyone has ever explored why

I just used Helium for the first time and I must say that that was the most painless restore that I have ever done!

I used it to restore in CM10.3, so it if was able to do that, I don't see it being that big of issue backing up.
For me it was the most painful restore and I had to set up my apps manually in the end, because Helium didn't want to do its job.
It displayed all the apps I backed up correctly when I attempted the restoration but would only do so with the first bunch, the majority were just ignored although they were in the generated zip. I did use the PC backup / restore function that works via wifi.
I will certainly never use this app again and stay with Titanium Backup now that I have root.

I've used titanium backup sucesfully so many times now I see no reason to switch and end up bug hunting all over again. Titanium works great with every rom on our device so far (least all of them I have tried.)

I always do local because the one time I did try to use it on my Razr (which was actually a device issue), Drive didn't work.

I just don't like how TB looks. Then again, if the app does it's job, I really shouldn't complain about it.

Back up/Restore

What is everyone using to back up and restore apps and app data? Ive used Titanium in the past but always had some type of issue when restoring data so I stopped restoring altogether and I have been reinstalling all my apps through the Playstore. I also have Rom Tool Box installed but have not tried it to restore yet.
Is there an app out there that works great restoring apps and data and if so which one. Thanks

Ever since I bought N3, TiB never worked for me, at least scheduled backup didn't. It takes less then 10 seconds for it finish backing up apps with new data, and when I sort by new backups, I see most apps where not backed up at all.
I've sent several emails to developers, but it's like sending it to a black hole, no responses.
It's a shame really, as TiB used to be the best.
Hellium is a good alternative too, especially if you are planning not doing root for a while, but it fails to backup/restore a lot too.

Thanks guys gonna try MBUP tonight and see how it does. I never had any luck restoring data.
Has anyone restored their app and data from 4.3 to KK yet? If so was it ok or did you have to do anything different?
Reason I ask is because going from 4.1.2 to 4.3 I and many or all others I should say had an issue woth TIBU and the TIBU restore app was created.

Did you back them up with anything? Also why isnt the playstore showing your apps thats strange unless yoir not signed in to your Google account. It has to be that. Check in playstore if your signed in. When your there slide your finger from left of screen to right and you'll see the menu. On top it should have your email sign in.
