definitelly best app for rooted phones (SGS especially). I use this app since GB and if any ROM developer or tweak developer says you will never face lags and redraws with his work he is probably wrong .... you need this app to get rid of lags and redraws ...
see my signature for playsotre link ... there is also a free version (but it does not have the advanced functions like more RAM profiles etc. ..)

Instead of using an app build.prop tweaks helps smooth out lags and more
thats why developers either just tweak there Modified Roms or use the build.props to save you using app (as they will use memory)
try the difference between build.prop and this app

Last night i was searching for a tweaking app for my HOV and i think i have found it.
Free on Google play and made by Devs here on xda I bring to you: Pimp my ROM.
This is the app version, they have a flashable installer however this is much smaller DL and you get to pick and chose what you want
Pimp my Rom is an app for rooted users that will allow you to choose between a plethora of tweaks, mods, hacks, apps and features to your current ROM.
This app has been proven to improve the performance of your device on many points.
Pimp my Rom can be used on ANY Android Device, running ANY Rom
Click to collapse
I have noticed significant increase in performance on my HOV and I thought this is a must show to everyone.
What does this app do exactly?
Some of the features include :
>> Build.prop Tweaks > Enable/Disable Android Features
- Better jpg image quality
- Better camera recording quality
- Lock launcher in memory
- Battery savings
- Disable kernel error checking
- Dalvik VM tweaks
- Faster scrolling
- Better touch responsiveness
- Faster browsing and download speed
- Allow purgeable assets
- Reduce dialing time
- Misc 3G tweaks
- Deeper sleep
- Reduce black-screen time of the proximity sensor after a call
- Smoother video streaming
- Faster wifi connect/disconnect
- Overall smoothness improvements
- Increase the size of VM heap
>> Enable/Disable Android Features <<
- Enable hardware video acceleration
- Disable Android logger
- Enable Android logger
- Enable gpu UI rendering
- Enable HSUPA
- Enable JIT (Just In Time) Compiler for Dalvik vm
- Disable Normalized Sleeper
- Disable Gentle Fair Sleepers
- Disable New Fair Sleepers
- Enable surface dithering
- Disable Boot-Animation (doesn't work on ics and +)
- Disable usage-data sending
- Disable volume buttons wake
- Disable adb notification icon
- Buttons backlight always enabled when screen on
- 16bit Transparency
>> Multitasking <<

- Choose between 4 levels of Minfree Low Memory Killer settings : Low/Mid/High/Very High
- Choose between 2 levels of ZRAM Compression : 64mb/128mb

(Having the right gps.conf file for your country is esssential for the accuracy and lock-speed of your GPS)
>> Internet Security & Stability <<
Security :
- Protect yourself against SYN attacks and the DoS (Denial of Service) they cause by reinforcing your tcp/ip stacks
- Block redirects
- Block source-routing : source-routing allows one to fully trace the packets he sends, thus it can be used by blackhats to hack into your device
Stability and Speed :
-Increase queue and buffer size of all tcp sockets to make it more stable in high broadband consumption conditions
- Avoid TIME-WAIT state by re-using the Sockets in time-wait state. Reduces network memory-loading
- Various IPv4 speed improvements

how bout the bravia engine? have you tried it yet?
if yes, does it really make some improvements to your display quality (image & video)?
yea i use it since the day i rooted my phone, i like the flashable version though
+1 for flashable
Flash version is fully selectable also
I like the app personally, its a little faster to change things if you want to swap something out. I have not noticed a huge improvement in image quality just some tweaks here and there. I LOVE the 3g and WiFi data tweaks, EVERYTHING loads faster now. Steaming tweaks make music load faster and YouTube videos also.
However if you like flash able zips search around here on xda and you will find this tool.
I can make a video on this if you guys want however i need a screen recording app

Xloud bootloops with SENSE roms from this app.
Also, not recommended to use ALL network tweaks. Idk which, but one of them stop webpages from loading. It'll say webpage not loaded.

I'll add that to main post, yes I only used speed tweaking there was one that had to do with HOW it loaded which is probably the one you area taking about.

How do you tell if the Bravia Engine is doing it's thing... I flashed it and enabled it on pimp my ROM app, but I can't tell.
Also is there a way to flash the 3D Rosie and drawer mods that you see in many of the custom ROMs? I'm using the stock rom, and I just want tweak up my CDMA One V without plunging myself into flashing a whole ROM...

Is this an option Im prompted to pick when first installing? Since i am running jellybam it reads my model as sgh l317 in the build prop. When checked in that menu i just have the option of adding, editing, or deleting. Adding leads me to a property and value menu. I'm still unsure of the steps to unlock this feature. Please advise..
Edit: nevermind. I got it backed up. Just had to flash back to a stock rom. Now I can flash with way more peace of mind. Thanks for this!!!!

After using my new ace 2 for only a few days, it is already beginning to feel sluggish and slow.. Not in framerate, but the snappiness and responsiveness of the phone. For example, when i click on an icon or app, instead of instantly lauching and executing the app or function, my phone would lag, or wait and the app only starts a couple of seconds later.
Does anyone have the same experience or do you guys know what is happening to my phone? Any ideas to overcome this..

Delete apks with the odexs too.
You should see what's running on the background and eating too much RAM. Then delete it.

Best solution
try backup and uninstall bloatware and unneeded services with titanium backup.. after that, download greenify, seeder and ram manager pro..
Lags depends on rom u r using i think, the smoothest rom based on stock for now is Kyrillos.
This bind should kill rest of the lags: kyrillos + d-kernel + greenify + setcpu (ondemand + sio).

osm
I meant "osm" for as good or exelent
You sound waaaaay too picky. My suggestion, either stay stock or make your own rom
Okay...you also want Samsung apps, right? Then, in my opinion, don't install custom rom, just use stock rom. Then, try theses.
For battery life>> download "greenify" from the Google play store.. Promised to boost your battery life
For performance ( powerful) >> flash " perseus kernel" , Overclock your cpu to 1800 MHz,there are also many system tweaks ( changes that will make your device faster )
For look good ( you said look osm ) >> install xposed framework. This can change the color of your notification bar, clock color, etc .. If you don't know how to install these, search in Google. Sorry for being not able to give you links.... You should also download " GMD gesture control" from the Google play store. That will hide your notification bar to make all apps "full screen"

I find Alliance Rom to be very interesting, it comes packed with customization options similar to Simplistic Framework and a bit better.

Greenify caused me problems. Swiftkey keyboard waked up my phone some times, so i Greenify it. But when i wanted to use it, all i got was a black screen. Only after i removed the battery the problem solved.
Generally this programme is useful for Facebook, eBay, Tapatalk. And only if you don't want notifications from these apps.
Can't use it (there is no point) in Viber, clock - temperature - diary widgets, battery monitoring programmes, setCPU programmes, WiFi Toggler programmes, call recording programmes, Cerberus or "where's my DROID" programmes.
For me is useless...

I am now on Pacman rom and I am gonna switch to other rom another day another rom

Whatsapp is an IM app. I don't use it but I use other IM, viber. If you Greenify it you lose the messages and all the notifications.
Hd widgets tells the time and the weather. I have bought that programme too. It's not wise to Greenify it. Cloak stops working and weather doesn't change.
Watchdog counts your 3G data. If it is not running, it can't counts.
So what's your point?

His point is that to stay away from freezing apps that logically has to stay active in memory to work properly, should be self explanatory.
