How to take a screen shoot with ics - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

How do I take a screen shot with TMobile Samsung galaxy s2? Before it was hooks home button then press power button, but this does not seem to work.

That means you're holding down the home button first. You have to press power and then home and hold them both until it takes the screen shot.

its like a quick 1-2 hold. try the volume down and power button. You can try both ways power then vol or vice versa.

Thumb on vol- and index finger on power. Count to 3 and press both buttons at once hold until you hear the shutter go off. It will automatically save to your gallery

i'm pretty sure just like every other cm9 or cm10 rom, holding vol down + power button. Alternatively, you can set the power menu's options as a screenshot in the settings.
How do you do that? Volume down and power doesn't work

Running avatar rom on my SGH-T889 and noticed I'm not able to take a screenshot. Is there a certain way to do this?? I tried the power button + volume down and didn't do anything. Any suggestions??

Volume down + power button
that's what in aosp roms..
There is no other known way other than that..
So you can add screenshot to your power menu and use it that way.

Boot in to recovery

Ok I have been booting in to recovery through a app but I tried to get in to cwm by pressing power and vol down and it is not working it comes up with white writing and says reset user settings press power to continue or any other to cancel wtf

Try power, volume up and home key. Once LG symbol disappears, let them go. You should see home key flash a few times and then recovery.
