[Q] Suspicious App- need help removing - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I need some input from fellow members- I just flashed Goodness Ics Rom- and its great- anyway- I'm reorganizing my apps- and deleting those I never or hardly use- and There is Voice recorder ( green icon- black microphone in center-) has no name visible..I went into settings, manage apps, to delete, and its not there..went into uninstall app- not in list, tried submenu of lists...nowhere- I thought of going into esfile explorer, but cant find it- what file would it be under - its on sd card..which submenu/folder would it be so I can delete this parasite of an app? Thanks.. BTW it just force closes EVERY time I went to use it when I flashed this rom. I cant even remove it from titanium backup. Yellow triangle came up to force-uninstall app. I had to press power off to reboot phone- and abort the action. what is the deal ??

Using your launcher, drag the icon to the info button ( I believe this is in Apex), see if you can delete from there. If you know the app name (assuming you do since you located it with Titanium), it is probably located under system/app. You can delete from there using a file explorer like Root Explorer.

That's a stock Samsung app comes on every E4GT.. From applications the disable option is grayed out so only thing I can think of is to use titanium backup but u already said it fails so idk.. Try to see of you can google an apk for sdx stock app remover. That usually deletes anything with no problem for me..

[Q] How do I remove Sprint NFL?

I just recently rooted and flashed a stock rooted rom...
I figured out how to remove several other stock sprint apps.
And I searched... here and google. I was only able to find one hit and the person merely said they "did it"
So where do I browse to for the sprint NFL item to delete? Whats it called? Because I dont see anything in my /system/apps list that says anything along the lines of NFL, football, or otherwise.
Any help would be appreciated.
**I misread your post. I see that you already know how to remove apps. Sorry for the useless post.**
if your rooted go to the market and get system app remover, that'll work perfect.
You should be able to remove it with titanium backup as well.

Use root explorer and goto /system/app I think its called sprint-nfl or _ if its not there try /data/app.

what about /mnt/asec
::smacks forehead:: the apk filename is com.handson.h2o.nfl.apk
Thanks for checking for me... I went ahead and bit the bullet and paid the buck for the uninstaller. It was called sfl-prod-release. The only way I knew that was it was because of the helmet.
Thanks again... this is now solved for me. But it is on record as to what it is if someone needs to look for it with their own free explorer to manually delete it.

Google talk video chat on eg22?

Anyone figured out how to get this working? Mine works perfect on my Evo w deck 1.2.1 rom and my wife has an epic 4g. I looked for the vtokapp that a friend uses on his Droid 3 but it doesn't show up in epic 4g market. Any help would be appreciated

Search the market for Root Talk Installer, it contains the fix to get it working.
root 1.3 talk installer did not work for me. First it failed to backup, I went on anyway since i could just odin again and then after it downloaded it failed to copy to system. I tested root with sdx stock app remover and it worked fine.
I flashed this in clockwork from an attachment in this thread and it seems to be working, i still haven't made a video call yet though

Thats the problem none of my friends have video enabled so i can't just tell right away if it is working.
the interface that i have looks like that though and that is different than the basic one the stock rom came with.
If I tap my name i have the option to 'allow video and voice chats'

Thats strange All I did was this
Rename stock to talk.bak
try root talk 1.3 installer and fail
boot into clockwork and flash zip
reboot and talk was there and working.
one strange thing that happened in the middle after i had gotten rid of the old talk.apk i was still receiving messages and they showed up in my notification bar however clicking on them did nothing since i had no talk app to open.
edit: side note, it is dumb that talk doesn't synchronize across phone and gmail at same time like google voice does. ex: I just sent a message from my phone and it didn't show up in the conversation on gmail desktop.
I uninstalled talk (keeping the titanium backup) and then flashed it in clockwork. Nothing appeared after booting. I then restored the back up, browsed on the other thread for a while and decided to try another apk. Uninstalled talk again, flashed the second version, and still nothing. O well. I don't really need it and am fine with waiting.
Also tried flashing the latest zip from the Gtalk video thread. No joy. App works until you try to initiate a video call. Force closes.
EG22, rooted, installed busybox.

Has anyone got this to work on a stock rooted epic, all programs I've either don't install or force close when you try to do the video call.

Use Sdx App removal tool because it allows you to back them up first and then delete them. Just in case you delete something that another app depends on.

So does Titanium. No need to backup anyway...if you ever need to bring your phone into Sprint and put these *****ass bloat apps back on ur phone you can just flash the reRFS EC05 Rom and theyre back. I'm assuming if you never use the Sprint Football app that you're never one day gunna wake up and be like "Darn! I want that app back today!" The only PRACTICAL reason would be if you want to return to stock for some reason, like if you have to bring ur phone in for service.

sCloudStarter can't be uninstalled

Good Morning.
Since yesterday I've noticed, that an app called "sCloudStarter" was installed automatically into user apps.
I can't uninstall it, and there is also a process running.
I can't find any information about this in the internet.
Is here someone, who knows what this app is or does?
Antivirus does also nothing find when I scan my phone.
It's annoying, when apps are installed automatically without knowledge of the user.
Do you think it's harmless or is it a bad virus app?
I did nothing change in my system before.
I also made a full wipe, and after configuring my device with the new fresh system, this sCloudstarter was installed again.
Please, hopefully someone can help me or can give me an answer about this.
it's a Samsung system app related to S-cloud. This is like Google drive. You ha ave to be root to uninstall it.

Thanks for your answer.
I'm rooted, but when I uninstall it, it is back in the next second.
It's not possible to delete it.
But I'm wondering, why it was installed automatically without any message?
That's bad from Samsung.
Do This -
I was frustrated with this annoying problem for hours before I did this - download an uninstaller that can identify an app named "Samsung Account" - followed by a long decimal number. Run it and delete Samsung Account first, then SCloudStarter, and hopefully that will work for you as it did for me.
Yeah there was a update which installs this app like a user app.

This means, that it is not a virus or something similar?
Therefor I leave it as it is.
But it's annoying, when such apps, with NO information, are installed automatically.

No no.
It's just the Samsung app.
The Samsung push service installed an app.

Like the other post said, you can use an app called Titanium Backup to freeze apps, and delete them. This one should be no exception. Freezing apps would be recommended first, as you can then see how the phone reacts when you disable an app. You can always delete later, but I still would recommend just freezing. Even with a 16 GB device, you won't gain that much space by deleting these apps that who knows if you may need later.
That works

If your phone is rooted, there is an app called TitaniumBackup in the Play Store. TitaniumBackup can freeze apps and the frozen app no longer runs on your phone or shows up in your app drawer. TitaniumBackup is the first app that in my opinion needs to be installed on a rooted phone. It's the best app that I've ever paid for, followed closely by Root Explorer.
It's also a good idea that before deleting an app you should ALWAYS have TitaniumBackup backup the app first. This way if your phone starts to act really weird, you can go into TB and restore the app.
It looks noxious
I had a look at the permissions for this in its App Info area,
...
* Your Personal Information
add or modify calendar events and send emails to guests without owner's knowledge, modify your contacts, read calendar events plus confidential information, read call log, read your contacts, read your Web bookmarks and history, write call log, write web bookmarks and history
...
OMG! It astually lists "send emails to guests without owner's knowledge" like that's nothing to be alarmed about! In fact, most of what is listed there is setting off alarm bells to me.

There is an app titles Titanium Backup that you can use with root. (highly recomended btw). This lets you uninstall bloatware, freeze apps (basically hides them and keeps them from running but keeps them on the phone), backup apps and data so if you have to reinstall or switch phones you can restore them without having to set them up again. Freezing also lets you stop the app which makes you provision and pay extra to tether your phone so you can activate it without paying extra.
It is a must have app imho for rooted users and I highly recomend the pro version. (you can only freeze with pro)

You can delete some of them directly from your app drawer. Just open your app drawer hit the plus/minus sign in the top right corner and delete. I froze the rest of mine with titanium.
When the f*ck did we get ice cream??

I did that, but the real reason is the upcoming roms that people will custom and I think they gonna need this info for cleaning/debloating them and stuff.
=)
You won't ruin your phone, you will just have to find the stock ROM (on one of the threads here) and flash it back with LGFlash tool. The obvious ones to remove would be anything AT&T Related using Root Uninstaller if rooted. Also any obvious apps that are preinstalled such as Polaris and Kindle can be removed if chosen too. I also removed all Tests (Bluetooth Test, Wifi Test, etc) Its pretty simple to know what to remove and not to.

I've had issues with those apps and I dint know why. Whenever I removed the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi test apps, my phone freezes for 5-10 minutes on boot. Whenever I put them back, its fine again.
Happened on the original firmware and the new one. I've went all the way back to stock too.
