You need to update your recovery. Either use ROM manager or find the .img and flash a newer recovery through terminal emulator.

[Q] CWM Won't Recognize My GS3 I747M

Need some help flashing ROMs etc........ I have CMW 6012 recovery on my GS3 i747M trying to flash through ROM Manager Premium 5021, when I try to flash into recovery my phone is not listed in the drop down menu in fact no GS3 devices are listed.
I wondering whether I have a bad version of CWM or have a different problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Reinstall cwm using ROM manager

i read somewhere this is a glitch in the app and that it was being looked into.. wish i could remember what thread i read that in.. I read it maye 4 days ago in one of the noobie stickies i think.... so my suggestion would just be to manually flash from cwm recovery

Re-installing cwm from ROM manager didn't work, it still wants to know what phone I have and it isn't listed. I have uninstalled cwm, reset my phone to factory settings and re-rooted a few time now with the same results. It's mildly frustrating......
I never had this problem with my S and S2.
Any more suggestions welcome.
Try team win recovery project(twrp). I never heard of anyone having an issue like yours.

[Q] Possible hwr problem need advice.

So here's my issue. My phone no longer allows me to flash roms from my external or internal sd card safely. What happens with every rom I flash is twofold. Data connection is always lost, and any reboot causes the phone to boot directly into download mode bypassing the odin flash page. The phone recovers from this with a simple odin back to stock. However, not being able to use non stock roms is no bueno to me.
Does this sound like some internal hwr problem? Is this an SD card issue? Would love some insite.
Which recovery are you using?

Using clockwork recovery current version

Every ROM I flashed had some bugs and they started to multiply. I used Super Wipe and killed EVERYTHING.
I then loaded every zip onto my micro SD via my computer and put it in my phone. Flash and Go.
I went back to stock rooted MA7. The glitches were gone,
So my suggestion is to do a recovery of your first full backup or do what I did.
Okay will try super wipe tonight thanks

Or if that doesn't work use twrp.

Honestly after I Odin it I think Ill try twrp first. I think I've used the superwipe before

Okay, I can't find the thanks button for you guys. THis is the solution. Don't use CWM recovery. TWRP worked wonders, and because I didn't format recovery in cwm so superwipe would probably had helped as well
Glad its working now. I have never used cwm on this phone. But twrp has been smooth sailing.

Use twrp on my s3, and cwm on the wife's note 2. Never had a problem with cwm. Sounds like the problem was not doing a full wipe with cwm (and not a problem with the cwm recovery itself)? But, whatever works for you.

Ive been flashing phones since htc touch pro and ive never had this much problem. Granted I know its me and not the recovery

No OS Installed! Help

I just got my Sprint LGOG a couple days ago, so I don't know much about it. I wiped my data in twrp to flash a ROM and now when I try to reboot, twrp tells me I have no OS installed. It deleted all of my backups and Roms so I can't do anything atm. Could I just push a ROM to the phone with my computer and flash it? If so, how? And if not, what can I do?

ADB Sideload Follow the first page of this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082084
Make sure you have a ROM to flash and a backup. Use a Stock ROM first then go to CM AOSP etc
Okay I got it Thanks!

Something strange with my gnex...

Sorry for my english, I`m quite bad... I was wondering if someone could help me with my gnex, Some months ago i bought one, it was rooted and with the bootloader unlocked. Í´ve changed the ROM so many times and then i decided to go back to stock. The problem that I have is that my phone is only working with 4.0.4, I´ve tried everything... odin, the tollkit, re-locking the bootloader and trying to update by OTA, nothing works. When I try to update it to 4.1 or another version it keeps on bootloop. I´ve tried changin the baseband, kernel, recovery, tried all official ROMS whit toolkit... Only 4.0.4, cm9 it works but when i try to uptade it goes on bootloop again...
I don´t know what to do. I`m sorry if I`m posting in the wrong section...
When you was flashing ROM's did you do a factory reset?

How do you try to update? What ROM do you want to flash? Which recovery do you use? Using which method do you try to update?

I want to update it, I don't like ICS. I've tried all types of versions, only ICS ROMs are working. I've tried with diferent recoverys also. Nothing...
I'm desperate

Did you try fastboot? That erases everything and has the highest chance of succes.

My maguro/gnex happen like this as well.
What i do, copy any custom rom(4.4 latest) into sd/data when in ics rom.
Then i flash cwm recovery using adb in fastboot
Then i boot into cwm then flash that custom rom zip file.
And it works.
Or you can find stock jdq39/4.3 in zip and flash that.

Did you try installing the stock factory 4.3 ROM from Google?
Search the forum and you will find the link, download and use fastboot it even the toolkit and install that. That will erase everything and should have nothing to do with your recovery or root.
But you will end up with stock 4.3 ROM
