Power off phone completely and let it charge for a little bit.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721229
Read the entire post a few times.
[Make sure you have the Samsung drivers installed]
Download the "FF18 full restore One-Click self-extractor"
extract and launch it.
Now
Power on the phone and..
hold Power button + Volume down
Then volume up to enter download mode
Connect the phone via USB to the computer and it should show up on a COM port.
Then click start and hopefully you'll be back to stock rooted.
Then be careful and read a whole lot more.

Not sure what you're trying. I just posted how to completely set you phone to stock FF18. It WILL wipe your data but your phone shoud be good to go with all services.
If you want to use sfhub's EL29 one click the method is the same. But why not get the latest released build.
You may have to to System Settings>System Updates then Update the PRL wait and then update the Profile wait.
It may suck having to re-enter some data but I would think it would suck more to have a phone that didn't work.

It won't reset your prl, aaa, ha keys which are contained in NVRAM.
If you are running CWM, I would boot into recovery, then start adb shell, then mount /system (if necessary) and undo your boot animation change. It is very likely everything is intact, just the boot is prevented from completing due to that change you made.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app

Ics uses like 10% more on average is the number I've seen thrown around, I get like 18 hours with 3 or 4 hours of screen time on average with 20% left.... you see tons of posts from people complaining about ics battery, ignore these... most of these folks can't be bothered to set up syncs right, kill background tasks that are unnecessary, read the forums, let roms properly settle, recalibrate, etc...

I'm assuming you mean wipe? Yes but it still would not affect your provisioning/network information... it does not get wiped by that... for example I have heavily edited 4g settings (higher entry RX, etc...) and those have been preserved across god knows how many flashes and wipes... lastly is not just ics you need to do a full wipe for, you can try no data flashes but might experance bugs, the reccomended route for every rom I know of is to do a full data wipe when switching from one from to another

Incorrect "Build Number" in "About Phone" after flash, why?

I had been running SleeperRom, 1.0.04...but switched back to a modded EL30 stock Sprint rom. After first boot it says GINGERBREADEL30, but then within a days use or so eventually switches to "SleeperRom 1.0.04", the rom itself is still the stock sprint, that is none of the modifications you would expect from the sleeperrom...
...after the switch it tells me to update my phone as expected.
Why is this? I've cleared the cache, delvk, etc. reflashed with the sprint mod rom couple times, etc. but this always happens. Is there something else I should have done?
Thanks!
That's odd.... I'm clueless on why but if your not expierencing any problems with this then what's the big deal? Unless of course you plan on taking it into sprint then you could just odin in the stock el30 package by Toadlife...

It's a good point, it doesn't effect anything, its just annoying because it does prompt for the upgrade, although I could fix that quick enough.
I think I need to wipe everything a couple times and just stock it back up, then root and customize.
Sounds like some data didn't get cleared out. Basically an incomplete flash. You will need to Odin a stock ROM to clear this out.

Calm down, you can always download a flashable ROM, place it on your sdcard and flash it through CWM. Everything will be normal.
I'm assuming you can boot into CWM.
You can either try restoring all the stuff you deleted with Titanium or wipe the phone and start over.

[Q] Am I bricked?

I have Team Venom's JellyBombed Ver 13. I did a battery pull to swap batteries and ever since I cannot boot, not even into recovery. When I boot I get the Samsung, then the Samsung Galaxy 3 logos but then screen goes black except for the soft menu and back keys on the bottom which are illuminated.
Please help.
I don't think that you bricked your phone, from what I understand and I could be wrong but long as it boots to your splash screen you aren't bricked. I would check the battery contact pins if your swapping battery's your increasing the potential of damage occurring . or even the batteries themselves. I don't think its a software issue. You can try Odin if you have it. Odin should be able to read the com port without the battery in the phone..if it can read it you can go foward and install a deoxdex rooted stk. Odin flashable tar. And start over ...good luck. , Hope this helps

I'm going to have to agree with this your best option is to plug into your computer and flash to stock from Odin. Usually the phone is not completely bricked unless it's totally unresponsive. I recently bricked one my self ... The only time you need to worry if you can't get to a splash screen, can't boot into recovery or download mode mine was totally done when I plug it in it wouldn't even charge for sure charge indicator and when you push the power button there was no vibration to indicate it was starting.

Maybe the NFC of the baterry is bad and if the phone is trying to "read" it you may be stuck on boot. Replace the battery again.

Thanks for everyone that offered suggestions.
Fortunately, I was able to boot into recovery, restore an old android nandroid, wipe, flash Jellybomb, and then use titanium to selectively restore from the post corruption Nandroid I was able to make. I lost some data but Im back and running.
I think I have an aftermarket battery that is bad too.

[Q] Am I trapped AOSP?

I flashed an AOSP Rom (SuperNexus) on my LGOG. Now when I try to flash a Stock (ZVB) based ROM, my phone reboots every time data connects. I tried Stock Rooted and Lifeless. The ROM's will flash onto my phone, but I can't get any data.
I tried installing LGNPST, but every time I connect my phone and open the LGNPST software I get a message that LG USB/Parallel dongle is not detected. I flashed back to Super Nex and my connection is fine.
And I am re-flashing, not restoring a backup. I ran a backup in TWRP before I flashed Super Nex so that I could get back to my Stock setup, but TWRP can't see anything to restore.
Ugh

This happened to me a couple months ago.
Easy solution:
Go to TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced -> make sure you wipe all four options data, dalvik, cache, and system.
When you factory reset you only wiped data, dalvik, and cache. You forgot to wipe system, then you can go back to flashing normally.
Dont worry this wont wipe your SDcard.
Well I ****ed up. I formatted the data partition. I am now hard bricked. No recovery, no boot, nothing. glad I purchased that insurance.

Are you actually hard bricked because at this point normally I'm pretty sure you could just LGNPST back to stock? I mean I've wiped everything before to rule out dirty flashing related bugs on ROMs and I don't think TWRP actually touches any of the really critical low-level files.

I had the same issue with LGNPST. The solution is very simple. Uninstall LGNPDT completely from your computer. Go into start-computer-c drive and delete folders labeled LG electronics off of there and inside program files. Then reinstall LGNPST but right click the .exe file and select install as administrator. This will solve your issue and flash back to stock. Make sure you follow the normal process of selecting the .dll and .bin files.
Let me know if this helped.

[Q] A lot of things I do makes my phone unbootable

This started about 6 months ago. Every now and then when flashing a new rom, or updating a rom, my phone would get stuck on the screen before the boot animation starts playing. It has been getting a lot more common. Especially on the new CM10.2 nightly. What happens is this...I updated from 10.1.2 to 10.2 (dirty flash), and then it got stuck on the splash screen before the boot animation. Whenever this happens, the only remedy to make my phone bootable again is to wipe the "data" partition. Thats really annoying as I lose all of my podcasts, and more importantly all of the pictures I have taken.
So I decided to just wipe everything, and start from scratch with the cm10.2.zip. Let me take the time to show you my process of installing a new rom, I have done this probably two or three hundred times, but maybe I forgot how to do it along the way or something.
1. Boot into TWRP (v2.4.1.0)
2.Wipe Factory Reset 3 times, System 3 times.
3. Install ROM.zip, install propper version of GAPPS.zip
4. Reboot System
5. Wait for it to boot, reboot again, wipe cache/dalvik 3 times.
6. Good to go
Did that exact thing for cm10.2.zip, and it worked great. Did some app installs, and had to reboot. Bam, stuck at splash screen. This happens on cm10.2 no matter what after a reboot. If I do a clean install of 10.2, not touch anything afterwards, just restart, it will be stuck on the splash screen. But as I said before, it happens randomly when I am installing any rom/update. I am not messing the kernels anymore, haven't for awhile.
Any ideas?
Few things get the latest version of your recovery secondly as I just did recently. Re-Odin everything back to stock through DocHolidays thread I chose DLJC and then Odin your recovery just get it from twrps site and then go about your business. I too was having the weird boot up and hang on bootani with every ROM I installed, I would just hard reset via holding power button but finally cleared it all up by doing the steps above.

It's gonna take an hour to download the stock firmware, so I will probably work on this tomorrow. Will update then.
Def do and ask questions in this thread or search his thread as it has more than likely been covered a few times I suggest downloading the needed files and putting them in an easy place as well using 7zip and having it ready for use as well.

For the Odin firmware, all the links I see are hosted on Androidfilehost and Hotfile. I was only getting about 100kb/s on both sites.
Just tried this morning though and its downloading at 7mb/s. Guess they were just bogged down last night.
Ok, glad its better now! the whole reason I host them on afh is because hotfile is sooooo sloooow! If afh was going that slow they may have had some problems.

So I had fun this morning...
After flashing the root66 DLJC, I got stuck in a bootloop. I know its supposed to take up to 10 minutes according to the thread, but I let it go for a good 30 minutes before I decided to try again. Tried the root66 DLJA, same thing. Finally decided to try completely stock unrooted DLJC, and still the same thing. Booted into stock recovery for the hell of it, and factory reset/wipe cache and it booted up fine. Not sure what the deal was there.
I got my recovery installed, and all seems to be working on cm10.2.
I did try updating my TWRP last night before going back to stock, and it didn't help the problems I was having.
But it seems to be all in working order now, thanks for your help.
Anytime! Glad you figured it out. 99% of bootloops and boot hangs are solved by a factory reset. Its because some previous data was left over that was incompatible with what you were flashing.
