2.1 rom ? ? ?

Hello all I have a HTC desire and its running 2.2 I've tryed Google 2 hunt down a 2.1 rom but with no luck ?? Can anyone please post a link and is it easy 2 change from 2.2 to 2.1iv rooted it and its got a custom recovery image .. thanks for your time in reading this and hope some1 can help me

just look in the android development section, rather that looking at the first few pages make your way to page 20+ you will find plenty.......

Why do you want to go back to 2.1? If you want to get the Orange OTA update you can't as they're no stock RUUs available so you'd have to wait.

An app I wont 2 play with will only work with 2.1 and down .. i can install it on 2.2 but it keeps crashing ... and can't wite till thay support 2.2 thanks ill keep looking I gave up after about 10 odd page's and the search dident work when I put 2.1 in

hi,
i am all new to the android and i have a few question. i am from holland so sorry for my poor english.
the build-number of my htc desire hd is 1.40.71.2, do i have to downgrade it or is it possible to root it from tis build?
also my phone is branded with orange is it possible to unlock without flashing rom?

i already downloaded revolution hd but i have to make a goldcard because mine is branded and all that stuff makes me confusing, sorry

I need help in unrooting my htc desire,
baseband version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
I tried many times to use different RUU but they return the same result asking me to use the correct rom .
The following are the RUU I tried.

Are you using a goldcard, if not thats why there not working.
Use this guide to create a gold card its pretty simple and any RUU will hopefully work.

[Q] Downgrade from 2.3.5 to 2.3.3

Hi Everyone!.. New to XDA and it's really helpful.
However, I am unable to find the answer to my query...
I have a HTC Wildfire S. Great phone don't get me wrong. I updated the software to 2.3.5 and I've hated it ever since Everyone moans about the "lock screen" but I don't have a problem with that. It's the fact it's slower and I am unable to root it.
Hence my question.. can you downgrade a WFS to 2.3.3 from 2.3.5?

you can do it , but also you can root it ! since you have an unlocked bootloader or s-off you can get permanent root using superoneclick , and flash custom recoveries and others !

My father wants to take my old Wildfire S (GSM) as I don't need it anymore ('updated' to Nexus 4). However I had CM7 on it and he disliked it for being different than Sense he knew from his Desire Z. I installed custom Sense 3.5 but he didn't fancy it either.
I can go back to stock 2.3.5 Android as I have it in my CWM backup folder in PC, but I know it will work similar to what I have now, that's why I need a tutorial how to go back to stock 2.3.3.
TL;DR - I must flash stock 2.3.3 on GSM Marvel.

I'd love to have a flashable 2.3.3. ROM through CWM!my pc died and i can't use the fastboot method

You can try to extract from RUU.
If you do not have it - download from htcruu.com
There is a tutorial about extraction of the rom, so I suppose it will be possible to extract boot too.

Yes , if you have the ruu.exe file just run it without the phone connected. The install proces will create a "temp" folder on your pc search it and take out the boot.img and recovery.img........

Look in the android dev thread under stickies - guides tools etc etc
You will find the stock recovery there.
And fyi only the 2.17 numbers matter, the rest is unimportant. All the recovery's that start with 2.17 are the same !
