Hi forum...
In the Sonyericsson X10 section, we have a flash util, so we can flash whatever firmware version we want...
Do something like that not exist for the desireHD ?

It's called radio S-OFF.

Thanks for your answer..
So there is no flashtool to use, in order to revert back to an older Rom like them we have available to our X10 phones ?
The x10 can be flashed with all kind of stock roms using a simple flashtool, and without any changes like Root and s-off things...
The tool probably act like Sonyericssons update service SEUS..
But to understand this correct, there is no way back at all for us who didn't think about it, and just updated to the latest firmware ?
I'm sorry for the questions, but many things is called something else, and looks completely different here at desire hd section, when I am used to the x10 terms...
So it is all a little confusing...

Take a look in the Android Development section of the DHD Forum and you will find all you need. You do need to get root and then RADIO S-OFF but there are two simple tools to achieve that. See HERE for the guide.
If u accepted the latest OTA and did not have radio S-OFF then there is no way back................at the moment.

Only by downgrading then re-rooting
you have to downgrade as shown in this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
follow the steps exactly and everything will be just fine
Thanks guys for the reply
Last question : this situation is temperary, isn't it?
I mean a way to root this update is going to come out some time.
if that is the case do you recommend a specific site or thread that I should follow or should I just stick to searching the forum and the web
I really appreciate all the replies and help , thank you.

No, this situation is permanent. You really have to downgrade due to incredibly tight security in HTC devices. Be happy that it is even possible to root devices with these new builds..

these are the things need to allow your phone to accept any roms by flashing
those are like locks/obstacles for your phone u have to unlock all of it to be able to flash those roms but you will need to downgrade your firmware version if its any higher than 1.32 then root the phone using visionary and use the easy desire hd radio tool to do the s-off,radio-off,etc.
Check this thread, should explain it all.
Hi, I would like to help my friend install a custom Rom on his desire and need to find out the general steps of what to do??
I have a desire hd and I'm not sure if things are a little different.
For my desire hd I : root, s-off, install custom Rom via cwm.
Is that the same steps as the desire??
My friend is on software number 2.29, can that build be rooted or does it need to downgrade first?? Also I've just read a couple of threads regarding installing a custom Rom and they don't refer to having s-off so was wondering if he needed to be s-off to have custom Rom, id assume he did.
Yeah if someone could help by just saying the steps in which to do it, id look up the rest ,
Thanks in advance to anyone that could help.
P.s its not for me, I'm doing it for a mate who is a complete noob.
Thanks a lot

You will lose the data in the phone...the sdcard is not touched at all.
When i first rooted mine over a year ago, i used the Ultimate Multi Tool.

For backing up my contacts and sms messages and transferring from one rom to another, I use MyPhoneExplorer (found on the market), so far not had any issues using this.

Hey there, i'm on the same "level" as the topic creator and yes, i've been reading around + reading the AAHK manual a couple of times now and well, i think im ready to use it. There is just one thing that bugs me, and that is the downgrading. I understand the downgrading itself, but im just unsure about the whole; "Was my DHD shipped with Froyo or Gingerbread and what does this mean and how do i check it etc etc" :/
I really hope someone can help me with this
Thanks in advance!

HTC Desire HD Success root using One Click Root
I want to share that if anyone wants to root HTC Desire (DHD) A9191 Gingerbread 2.3.5 ---> One Click Root 3.7 works well.
1. Used Windows 7 32 bit (because HTC drivers did not work in Windows 10)
2. I unlocked the bootloader as intructed in htcdev.com/bootloader/
3. Downloaded one click root from sendspace.com/file/ylqkve
