Hey guys, I have searched in all of the "Samsung Epic 4G Touch" forums for some help with this for an hour, so forgive me if this is duplicated elsewhere.
I have a friend who gave me his phone since he has too much money. He flashed it to Boost Mobile. The current original ESN is clean and is a Sprint Network ESN.
I have been trying to find a guide to help me restore the original ESN to this phone from Boost, but haven't been able to find it anywhere.
I am familiar with Odin, ADB, and am not afraid of CMD windows, I have the original ESN/MEID and the MSL password. I just want to restore this phone to use it on the Sprint network again.
Obviously, flashing a Stock Sprint ROM or performing a factory reset won't do the trick. (I already flashed a stock Sprint EK02 ROM with Odin and upgraded to EL29. The ESN is still the Boost Mobile ESN and not the one on the back of the box).
Thank you in advance.
Your friendly, neighborhood Lagomorph,

The program you are looking for is called "DFS software", you can google or youtube it to learn how to program the orig esn back on the device for sprint activation

i was wondering if its possible to have a nandroid of a metro rom and also have a nandroid of a sprint rom and have them both working? and if its even possible to just nandroid back to each prespective network ?
Flashing roms wont change your network. As someone who has rececntly had my Evo switched to Metro i know this for a fact. Adding and or changing networks requires provisioning your phone to work through the respective network using programs like Houdini,QPST, and CDMA workshop. Hope this was helpful.
is it easy to switch back and forth
No,because the only way to get your phone working on metro is to take it to a metro store and have them add the esn to thier database. After you do that,i dont think even flashing a stock sprint RUU would get it fully back to sprint as some deep programming has been changed in the metro flash.
Hello everyone.
I have a Sprint EVO 4G and it has S-OFF so I flashed it to 2.2 and used Rom Manager to put the stock 2.3.3 rooted deodexed onto it then went to Metro PCS and had them flash it over which they did for $10 then the guy could not get into the NAM setting to put my new phone number ect into the phone. He said usualy all they have to do is 000000 to get into the settings he called the metro techs and they said to reflash it which he did anyway by the end of this he asked me if I knew how to get into the settings which is what brings me here. He refunded my activation and kept the $10 for the flash. I kinow if anyoine can help me it's you guys. Thanks
Adam
OH YEA & P.S. to save another thread should anyone have the answer to this and I get this working on Metro (calls and texts only) can you either direct me to a thread to get the internet 3g and MMS working or give me the steps. Thanks again

I had this happen to me the first time I tried to "Metroflash" my Evo. I went to three different stores thinking it was the operator, not knowing that when I flashed and rooted the evo, metro pcs could not set it up on their Houdini system. I went bare bones via hard reset (stock rom) and voila, metro got it on their system.
I followed this guide by Bloodykiller after it was rooted. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795182
Again, this is what worked for me. Hope this helps.
I've search everywhere for this and i haven't find anything. I have an evo that was flashed to boost and i want to put it back to sprint. It has a clean esn. Please help!! I already flashed the latest ruu but it still shows boost info under about .
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
You'll need to do a factory reset. That will return the phone to its original MEID and blank the data passwords.
Hey Guys,
I have a sprint galaxy s3 that i would like to flash over to metro.
Tools i already have:
CDMA Workshop 2.7
DFS 4.3.1
QPST 2.7
QXDM 3.12
i got these in a zip online saying it was the package needed to flash sprint galaxy s3 over to metro pcs. I have no clue where to start with these, i've tried to search the forums and found several tutorials but i'm confused. Some say i have to change my imei to esn and some say i have to an MSL number.
Please help, i'm a first timer at flashing but i've rooted a few galaxy's. I don't want to pay $85 to $100 to just flash my phone.
Any help (Step by step) will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!:good:

i have flashed my sprint s3 (SPH-L710) to Virgin Mobile USA which i think will be like yours (CDMA)
all i can say is this
there are quite a few different guides out there (boost, page plus and even cricket)
virgin mobile and metro pcs are a little different but not much.
you are going to have to do research and alot of trial and error.
you will use a mixture of all those tools you listed above to get the results done
i know may way around these apps now and which ones can get certain things done and which ones report wrong info.
i still can not even change my SPC code to a new code like 000000
i see lots of guides on how to do it and i follow them to the letter and they do not work
i then asked for help and no one says anything
the info is out there you just have to read

You have to have Metro put your MEID in their database. Not many Metro stores will do that for you. But there are a lot on the internet that will. They usually charge $10.00. Just look on craigslist for shops that flash phones to metro. They will be able to have your # put in the database.
I hope that is the answer you needed and that I've understood your question right.
Also, you shouldn't even have to go in to a Metro store to have it activated. Once the correct #'s are in the phone and the MEID is in their database it should program like any other when getting activated.

^^Hello, i know this post is old but i have been searching all over the wed for days now on how to flash a sprint SPH-L710 to virginmobile, coul you explain to me your steps on how you did it? thank you
My WIFI toggle wasn't working, so rather than troubleshoot the issue, I simply went back to stock, well, in that process my MIN and MDN got reset to Sprint! I was already on Cricket and the ESN is in their network. Any help or suggestions? I can't find a G2 flash guide ANYWHERE, and this was flashed before by a friend.
How did you get it back to Sprint? I'm having the exact opposite problem. I was on cricket and I'm trying to get back to Sprint. They said it couldn't be done.

I accepted an OTA update. If you're already up to date, I dunno. Whoever flashed your phone should have made a backup of all the info, if not, I'm not really sure how else, as I don't believe a TOT restore will restore NAM and all those other settings. My G2 is on the new cricket now, the GSM Cricket, so I just flashed a GSM ROM to it and the SIM card slot works now.
