JB OTA lost - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi i received yesterday the jb update notice but it didn't work,i don't know if because i moved away of the wifi zone or because my bootloader is unlocked, now I'm trying to check for updates on the about zone and nothing happens.
I'm running yakyu 4.0.4 upgraded by me from yakyuwx 4.0.2; does anyone knows why the jb upgrade didn't work? Will it come back? I don't want to flash it.
Screenshot attached.
By the way, my phone is gsm unlocked bought in Amazon and i live in PerĂº.
Thanks in advance.

Supposedly starting today you do not need to be on wifi for the update - though I do not know why you wouldn't want to be.
Try going into settings - apps - select all - scroll down and select "Google Services Framework" - then clear data.
Try and check for update again - Worked for me.

You don't have the correct radio and/or bootloader installed for yakju.
Radio is xxla2 and bootloader is prime 03.

Might that be,i upgraded to yakyu following a tutorial from webtrickz.com, haven't read anything there about radio and bootloader version, where can i read to upgrade them?, are them reeeeally necessary?
Thanks in advance

Well, I just flashed the xxla2 radio and a recovery image file, afterwards I cleared the data from Services Network and now the update is downloading, hopefully this time the JB OTA WILL work

Picked up a g2 with android 2.3, unable to downgrade

This phone was not rooted, htc upgraded it to 2.3 and I'm getting errors downgrading, and ideas?

You need to provide more details...
1. By what means did you get it?
2. Did you root the phone?
3. Do you have a warranty?
4. What kind of error?
5. A screenshot perhaps?
Explain your problem more in detail, also I think this is the wrong section for that. check the general questions section.
cant downgrade 2.3, you are stuck on there till there is a new root for it sorry
You tried using a gold card to downgrade it?
When did T-Mobile send the upgrade
Also I think this is in the wrong section

Wrong section. You should either be posting in the QA section, or one of the root threads with the error you get.
When was gb released? My sister hasn't gotten it yet.

but is the OTA for gingerbread being pushed to those who arent rooted yet?
Got the phone on craigs list the previous owner sent it in for repair for hinge issue and got it back with 2.3. The phone isn't rooted. I like 2.3 but prefer my freedom. I'm at work and can't recall the error but I can push the files with adb but get the error when I run adb shell p.... I did the goldcard. I'm thinking I'm stuck, but ill give it another shot later

You can't update without root until you get it OTA, but you can flash the full ROM. See the "flash" link in my signature.

Well is your GN yakju or takju?
If its either then hitting system update will prompt you the OTA.
You can also try the clearing Google Service Framework and hitting the System Update.

Yeah, to flash the full images, you don't need root, but you need an unlocked bootloader.
But I was talking about updating, not re-flashing a ROM: if you want to "update" your existing build to JB, you either need to get it OTA, or download it and move it to /cache (root required), or apply it via CWM (either root or an unlocked bootloader required).

Well for one is it American or European? GSM or CDMA? Buy it off the Play Store?
If it's CDMA you would have to unlock and use custom recovery to install 4.1, but it would be very simple to do and there are completely stock 4.1 builds that work flawlessly.

How do I flash my Nexus from YAKJU back to YAKJUXW?

Hi, I am a noob, and I just bought a Galaxy Nexus (YAKJUXW), and just flashed it to Stock YAKJU so I can get OTA 4.1.1.
Can I flash it back to stock YAKJUXW, unrooted, just in case I have to claim warranty? Where can I get the stock firmware?
TIA
When you need to send it back, just lock the bootloader, they don't know that you changed to the yakju

[Q] Stock unrooted ROM

Hello
I was wondering if I could get a stock ROM without root. Or could I do it my self by uninstalling SU?
Thanks.
Why would you want that ?
You can unroot by removing supersu.apk from /system/app and deleting root binaries.
Check this

Thanks! I'll try it in the morning. I wanted to find how to do this because there seem to be no RUUs.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Well there are ruu's....but depends on which one you need.
Well a Australian Vodafone RUU for Jelly Bean would be nice. But I've seen that the sites have be shut down.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
There is a new domain up, google for android ruu.org index. But i dont think a JB voda ruu is released/leaked. The JB ruu's are pretty rare
Yea, I've kinda noticed that. But I could probably flash a stock European ROM and unroot it using the link you gave me.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/?dir=Endeavor this the site but its down at the moment, but its the actual one. You cant run a different ruu for your phone then the official one (no other region or wwe european one) and yes you can run a stock jb rom and unroot it but then the next the owner will not be able to update the phone
I tried that site not too long ago so its still down. If I flashed the RUU then unlocked it, would it still get updates from Vodafone?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I was on it last night so it will come back up i guess......to be able to update the phone you need :
Stock rom (out of the box stock)
Stock kernel
Stock recovery
If one of these things are messed the up the update will fail
And yes if you ran a ruu and only unlocked the bootloader it can still update ..... even with root you can still update, you loose it after the update. Only when you messedwith system apps like deleting them, removing bloatware apps from voda then the update will fail again
Alright, by unlock I meant a network unlock.
I'm guessing that after updating to JB and a new HBOOT I can't run a ICS RUU?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
ow haha your right after the JB update you indeed can not run a ICS ruu anymore ! :good:
I think I'll get one of the European rooted ROMs and unroot, flash stock recovery , kernel and OEM lock!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
yes thats possible....but it still wont update in the future. the updates go by CID. that is not changable....so you flash a rom for CID A and the future update will search for CID B with a different software number and at that point it will 100% fail !
I thought you can't change your CID.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
That's what im saying....you can't change CIDS. but you want to run a custom rom based on a wwe rom. most of the roms are built on the european base 3.14.401.31. And not on the software number from vodaphone that is released on your phone......
Vodapaphone gets a softwareversion from HTC and they put all sorts of vodacrap in the rom (branding the phone) so basically the phone is stuck on that. The next update will also have that crap and is looking to update the old vodacrap, but now its no longer there so it won't update.
Hope i make it a bit less difficult like this
OK I don't think there will be too many updates.

I would suggest going into the Galaxy Nexus forums and looking for your stock recovery.
There will be folks there with the same device and issues you are having that can more specifically help you with that.
You are in the Verizon HTC One forums.
We don't have a 4.3 OTA yet and no files from our device will help you.
Surely there are lots of folks willing and able to help in the proper device forum though.
Good luck!
