You could also try Sebastiaan15's AIO ROM... I have it and the battery lasts 3-4 days depending on how much you use your phone

Yeah, but it always depends on how much you use your phone. If you switch off mobile data, wifi, and solely use your phone for calling/texting once or twice a day, you'll get 2-3 days of usage out of it regardless of which ROM you're using.

He asked for SENSE Roms.
I am using RSK Special Edition, it has an excellent battery life (Governor Smartass V2 @ 1152 MHz).
Charged this morning to 100% and now it has 85 %. :good:
WiFi, GPS and BT are turned off.
If you are looking for Sense for the look
I'd suggest MIUI Marange, and search xda for MIUI Sense 4.0 Theme,
It is awesome how I just forget I have an MiUi Rom, mainly because I
Can put a beautiful app drawer and have sense widgets xD
Can Provide screenshot if you want.
RunnyMede aio s/e with kernel Ahmet-exp5_cfs_svs+
Smartassv2 - 245 - 998
there is probably better with other sense, but if u want sense 3.5 this was the best setup for me

Your sense is the best battery saver. Turn off data transfer when you don't need it and all will be good.

I am currently using the RSK Special Editiin with Alex-V kernel. The 15% shutdown os fixed, charging very fast, no drains, all the features working, very responsive and im happy with good battery life. If there are other good combinations I will be checking this thread to find them all.

Hi everyone,
First time flashing cm 7.1 stable. Pretty satisfied with the beast...but the battery life has decreased from 30h to 18-20h.
Do you recommend the latest hboot? Wich kernel? Wich radio?
What are your battery stats? Do you recommend nightly?
Thx peeps

Latest radio. As for kernel a lot of people suggests ManU. I personally use richardtrip's kernel right now.

How is your battery life doing? What about your signals strength.
Thx for sharing
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
I've been satisfied with my battery life. Its pretty much dependent on how you use your device so giving you an actual figure on how long it last isn't really necessary. But on my observation, its better to flash another kernel than use the one loaded with CM7.
In addition to the kernel, I use 2G and turn off data when I don't need to be connected and all that normal battery saving practices.
As for signal strength I'd say it's pretty good. I never worry about it since there is pretty much good coverage where I am at.
I'd recommend you don't mess with your radio unless you have to.
I'm using cm7.1 with latest radio (5.17.05.23) and the ManU havs-axi-cfs kernel.. It works a treat for me

What are the consequences of flashing a new kernel over the CM one?
Data lost? Any apps non-compatible? Less customization of the cm 7.1 ?

There is a little trick how can you extend life of battery to the maximum: Use your phone only in pitch black rooms. Satisfaction guaranteed!

None of that. Everything should work fine, maybe faster, maybe slower, may more battery life, maybe less... Just try.
Only make sure you are flashing an AOSP kernel and not a Sense kernel.
The hboot doesn't affect the baterry life. A2SD dos affect, as reading and writing in the sd drain a bit more battery than just in nand.
So the best hing is to use CM7r2 and not to use a2sd, and don't have thousand of stupid and useless apps.
Battery drains really fast, done a battery calibration but nothing, phone is only a year old ish and when its on charge it sometimes says full when its lower than 100% see picture below.
I had the same problem with charging.I charged it few times when it was turned off and now it is back to normal to 100% fully charged. About the drain issue try different kernel if you are using a custom rom!

No, not on oxygen derivatives. Uses different camera drivers so that doesn't work, but think other things won't either. Have to stick with the _thalamus kernels, which I believe are pretty good too. Same .35 base?

You are right! My mistake
i use task killer and let apps close when screen is off, dont use any apps though really just facebook really. Using nighty 258 now battery seems better but have to data Wi-Fi is a killer :/ last about 5 hours with wi-fi on, having mobile data on is just as bad.
One shouldn't use a task killer app with Android. It does more bad than good, in terms of battery life.

Unfortunately, MIUI roms does not have Sense.
Sebs runnymede aio v6.1 with droidzone #18 kernel, very fast and I am currently 26 hours with 30% battery left, moderate use, all simple battery saving tips used.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
If I had to choose one that has the better chance of having a
better battery life, it would be the IncROM.What do you think??
Not the rom depends on battery life, it's nearly everything about the kernel (although I think Sense is also a battery drainer).
So if uses a good kernel (cannot recomend one because I do not like Sense) and one will have very good battery life.

Yeah, and how about to ask these questions
I experienced the best batery live with runnyrom but The Aio rom is with #18 kernel is also not bad
Other than kernel I believe that choose app also quite important. For me currently using runnymade ROM and the batteries is stay quite longer and it become drain fast after I install "LED me know" app.

I would recommend RSK v7.1.... The fastest nd most smooth sense 3.5 Rom I vet used... Good battery life.... No lag whatsoever....
Tried sebs AIO nd RunnyRom.... But RSK is the best....
There have been some new Sense roms released in last 10 months, including some Sense 4.1 roms.
What is the answer to the question form the original post today?
I changed from An - droid after a year with it to Alex-V, which is a hybrid rom. Same number of apps, same number of services, at this point the rom is still fresh, but is much faster than previous which was made for Desire. I can't make judgment before a month or so using it, but I was surprised with this revelation. Battery life is _much_ worse tho so I'd say general rule of the thumb is that Sense version and battery life are reverse proportionate.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
What is that hybrid? What I'm really after is this Sense lockscreen which displays unread messages, calls, and agenda events from calendar. I tried Runnymede 3.5 and RSK 4.1 but none of them had it. I only saw it on ICS Sense 4.1 ViperS for Desire S.
Hybrid = sense 2.1+3.0.
Sense 4.1 is much closer to being an unusable pile of binary data than being a rom.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk 2
I also think that the kernel does greatly for the life of the battery, the frequency (minimum and maximum)... i use isl-r4mod-kernel-bravo. This kernel use in many roms.
A rom with sense him does not last very much the battery I advise to use the roms of mildwild ... normally I use Mildwild mw-6 based of Redux. With this rom the life of battery is approximately 2 days. : Good:

for best battery performance, If you want to use sense ROM then use ARHD with Stock Kernel{ usually get more than a day's battery and more than 3 hours screen time} or Maximus ROM with franco or faux kernel{ some people reprted 4 to 5 hours of screen time } though have not used MAximus ROM myself...
Use faux or franco kernel with CM10 or AOKP ROM
these custom kernels improve performance as well as battery life
At present i am using CM10 with franco kernel with more than a day's battery and 3hours+ screen time
Sonn gonna try again Trip's CM10 and his new 3.1.10 kernel
In my personal experience for best battery life use a Sense ROM (Stock or modified = ARHD, ViperX etc..) with stock Kernel. Have tried a couple of AOSP JB ROMS few weeks back but battery life was not as impressive as on sense. Standby times on sense ROMs are fantastic.

With ViperX 2.0.1 i've once got near 5 hours screen on time with i'd say constant use (however i should add that i had the brightness quite low)

Until HTC releases the 2.17 source, we're stuck with the current batch of custom kernels. With no new source, devs really can't do too much.

Hey guys, I have a terrible problem here. The problem is that I got tired of Sense and I love stock android 4.2 and I just cannot use roms built on that android version because the battery drain is humongous. Using my phone just to check twitter and facebook and it goes down in 3 hours. I tried Cyannogen Mod and I'm now on Icecoldjelly both with Xm kernel and it is always the same. This is terribly annoying because the roms are perfect and so is the phone, except for that battery. Does anybody recommend I do something, are there some mods/tweaks to increase battery life? Is I cleared battery stats and performed more than 3 charge cycles, in case you ask. Thank you, hope you can help me

haha! and I thought I was the only one... I see people who are getting 15-18 hours on ICJ...
I also get terribly low battery backup... even though battery is calibrated.. Sync off... Auto Brightness.. etc etc...
However, on sense roms I get great battery!

I would suggest a faulty battery, I use mine for twit and fb too and a whole load of other stuff but i get a lot more than 3 hours. The reply wasn't intended to get you to try slim, only to show that not all 4.2 roms are as heavy on battery. there are plenty of others to try, I just prefer slim

I'd say thats about normal, but the op's 3 hours is seriously wrong. I would have to use navigation, music, facebook, twitter and XDA all at the same time to run my battery down that fast
With minimal usage I got around 5/6 hours. I'm going to try other roms and settings to see if I get this right. I'm currently on slim. I'll see how it performs tomorrow. If it goes bad then wth, I'll just go back to a Sense rom
Disable auto sync/fb location... use trickster mod and set governor to smartmax and IO scheduler to row/sio...
Cap the max frequency to 1.2 GHz... Use greenify to hibernate apps which you don;t need..
There is absolutely no lag for me... When I want to play some games I just switch to interactive or gaming governor!
Thanks everybody, I found my daily driver, today I got 13 hours with regular usage and still 25% to go, slimbean is the best. Even if it was not a recommendation to test the rom, it helped a lot
