No, the light just goes off when the screen goes off. It's still charging though.

When i turn off the screen and let the orange light turn off it still doesnt charge is it a bad flash or something?

The 3.0 kernel doesn't correctly report battery charging yet. Even if there may be not obvious indicator, its charging, even if the screen is off and the light isn't on.

It's a known issue that the charging indicator doesn't work properly with most kindle fire roms. I've ran about 8 different roms on mine including the two versions of jellybean that are out now. I successfully charge when it's plugged in, it just doesn't have the right icon when it is doing it.

I'm on hashcode's jb ROM and I've found out that turning off the kindle then plugging it in and letting it boot up will allow the light to remain on, letting you know that its charging.
It should charge regardless but this might make you feel better.

The only way to be sure with the 4.1 builds in by looking in the settings. Sometimes my light is on and sometimes it's off. The charging icon has never worked with these roms but as already stated, that's why it's a beta that is currently in development. I recently encountered an issue where Wifi will turn off if I am using the MX Video player whilst charging... Not sure why.

Turn off notification LED blink when phone is on

I like having the notification LED blink when my phone is off and an email comes in, but I find it distracting if I am doing something on the phone.
I didn't want to make a standalone app to do this--I don't want to waste system resources running too many utilities at once--so I added code to disable the notification LED blinking when phone is on to Earpiece, since I already use Earpiece. To enable, start Earpiece, press MENU, Settings, and turn on the relevant option. Earpiece is a hodge podge of stuff I use: quieting the camera (not quite to zero, but very quiet, and in all camera apps, not just the stock one), auto speaker phone (speaker phone when phone away from face, earpiece when phone close to face), etc.
No root needed.
How do you get phone to use led notifications at all other than while charging?

I don't think I have any trouble with that. The red light turns off periodically. Or so I remember.
I mean notification does not work at all except showing when charging... That's it

I'm assuming your on a custom Rom that doesn't support it. The notification light can blink while your screen is off to show that you have missed calls/texts/emails etc.

Phone freezes after rotation...

I have a rooted unlocked tmo galaxy s3, currently running infamous 4.5. Haven't had any problems with it until today, twice now it's frozen upon rotation. Anyone else having this problem? Either with or without this rom, thanks in advance...

Turn off screen rotation lol problem solved
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Need more info; it could be a kernel issue, an app issue, or a user error on the way you installed the rom...
Followed Jamison's instructions to the letter, full wipe, 3x for everything, with the kernel in his rom, I did turn off screen rotation for now, no problems since. Doesn't matter what app is running at the time, home screen, gmail, and messenger are what froze. It's didn't do it on 4.4, just on 4.5. Anything else that might ad helpful, let of know.

The only other option I would suggest is redownload and rewipe everything and don't restore stuff.
I'm using the same ROM and tried rotate with many different apps and experienced no lock ups. I too suggest you reflash again with full wipe
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I'll try that later on, and like I said, only freezes if it times out while rotated to one of the sides

Think I figured it out, I'm using the aosp lock screen and somehow the ripple effect got turned back on, was still freezing after wipe, let's see if this works. Lol. Tested it a few times and no freezes yet.

Random backing out of apps

My epic 4g touch randomly backs of of apps, its as if someone is hitting the back button while I am trying to use the phone, haven't been able to determine the issue yet, had anyone else run into this problem?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA Premium HD app
Does this seem to happen when you are in a low signal area? What apps does this happen with? Are you on a custom ROM, rooted or completely stock.
I am running custom rom cm-10-20121108-EXPERIMENTAL-d710-beta2, no particular app, seems to happen with all of them.

I have seen something like that on CM builds as well. What helped me was... A dirty flash possibly a full restore.

Updated to CM10.1 Wild in the Night 9 April 2013 build, have not noticed the problem since the update was installed at 1300hrs today. Hopefully the problem is corrected with updating to new ROM.

Was hoping it was fixed but it's doing it right now as I try to type this out, started when I was texting and is continuing to do it in this app. Acting as if someone keeps hitting the back button

Blue flash upon screen on

So as of yesterday whenever I turn the screen on my phone on it will flash blue and then work like normal, occasionally a bit of grainy lines follow the blue but then everything works fine after that. I'm worried that something is starting to go bad on my phone. It's weird because it only does it whenever the screen turns on. I thought this might be a room issue but I switched from pa to task and tried multiple kernels and still no luck. It even does this upon boot so I'm thinking it must be hardware related? Any help would be appreciated
Sent from my SGH-I747 using XDA Premium HD app
Occasionally this blue flash will not occur as well, but it's random as to whether it does or not
Sent from my SGH-I747 using XDA Premium HD app
Have you tried going back to unrooted stock?
Just tried that now, was doing it at first but now seems to be better, could just be one of those times where it doesn't for a while and starts again though

Charging led

This is my second note. The first one I had the red led charge light would be on when charging with the screen off then it would turn green when charged. I looked at the settings and the box is checked for it but it never comes on. I think when I first got this one I noticed it working. But now I cant figure out what I did to make it not work. Any ideas?
