But now I have another problem ... when the kf is " online " on kfu I try to enter the recovery command but I get this error : view attached image..... please I need.help. thanks

You have to turn the Kindle off then back on. It won't do it itself if that's what you're asking. I'm not sure about the permission problem though.

[Q]Help! PC doesn't recognize Kindle Fire after root

Hello, guys,
I recently rooted my Fire (6.2.2) with Kindle Fire Utility (0.9.3). Kindle is working but my PC (Win7 32) can't recognize it when i'm connecting kindle to PC. And Kindle Fire Utility can't connect to device since then (statusffline).
Maybe I forgotten to switch to normal mode?
How can I fix this?
Thanks.

With your Kindle plugged in and with KFU (even if it says it is offline), press 1 for Bootmode Menu and select Normal.

I tried to do this. Got the message "kindle told to reload in normal mode". Kindle reloaded but the problem left.
Sounds like you may have to reload your drivers. Is the computer recognizing the Kindle at all. I had the problem when trying to load files to the SD card that it would not show up as a storage device. I unchecked USB debugging and it showed up. If you are trying to establish an ADB connection you may want to check your ADB setup.
Try cd C:\kindleadb
adb devices
This will tell you if your ADB connection is working.
Maybe this video will help.

Gives empty output. I'm using adb bundled with Kindle Fire Utility
The same thing happened to me and I just deleted all the files that were associated with the ADB and KFU and reloaded everything. Before you do that you can go into device manager and pull up the properties for unknown device(kindle) go into update drivers and point to the file you downloaded when installing KFU.
I used this video to root mine and the part on installing the drivers works. Make sure you download the driver files attached to the video. Look under "show more" --Links in the video description.
Hope this is helping and not making you more confused.

The problem solved. It was Windows drivers problem. I've got a USB-stick in another slot during all operations. When I removed it everything worked normally. My motherboard is Asus P5G41T-M.
Thanks to everybody who tried to help.

I have attempted several different fixes to get my rooted KF recognized by PCs running VISTA and XP to no avail. My KF is looping TWRP v2.0.0, so I have concluded. Yet if not PC can recognize it as a device...well, please give me your thoughts and suggestions.
Thx,

[Q] Root Gone Wrong

I attempted to root my kindle fire and halfway through the rooting processes somehow the Kindle Fire got disconnected. I am now stuck at the splash screen that displays the white and orange Kindle Fire logo and it will not get past this screen. Nothing else happens its just the static logo. I went online and ordered a fast boot cable and attempted to fix it that way but it still will not work and remains on the static splash screen. The computer does not even seem to recognize that it's plugged in nor is it listed in the device manager. I have scoured countless forums trying to find a solution to unbrick my Kindle Fire. Any suggestions on how to get it back and working? I've even searched this forum countless times and cannot find anything that will work! Please help!

Yes, it was using the Kindle Fire Utility. Any way just to reinstall 6.3 and have it back to unrooted normalness?
If you broke the bootoader it just will not be that simple you will need firekit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430038 .

The odd thing is that my desktop PC does not detect the kindle device via USB, but my laptop does. Any suggestions? Even if I plug it into my laptop it doesn't get past the Kindle Fire logo (white and orange) screen.

As long as your laptop can detect..you are save... do the following and try:
1. Reboot your kindle and insert usb cable.
2. Start KFU on your PC
3. Once the Kindle Fire logo appear, at your laptop KFU, quickly hit "1" for Boot Menu, and then hit "1" again for Normal Boot.
Let me know if it works...

I faced the same issue and I precisely had done what ataraxist has suggested.
On your laptop, you might also need to install the drivers which come along with KFU.
That is precisely what works unless something is broken.
Thanks to all that replied! I will be trying this tonight and will let you know if I am able to get it to work! Thanks again!

Try it again, only this time when you get "waiting for device", hold the power button until it shuts off and start it up again. You may have to repeat the process until you have a custom bootloader installed.
"That's a special kind of stupid. The kind that makes me laugh."

Tried it for almost half an hour with it sitting and trying to reboot, no such luck. My laptop is running Windows 8, and it makes the "usb plugged in connection" sound but then it won't let me install the driver for it. I have the driver installed on my Windows 7 desktop, but the KF is not recognized as being plugged in by my desktop.

Yeah, Windows 8 won't work. Boot a Linux LiveUSB and run SoupKit to eliminate Windows driver issues altogether.
FIXED!
Thanks to all that replied! The Soupkit worked! Loaded Ubuntu 12.10 onto a flashdrive, downloaded Soupkit ran it, it took a few reboots but then it finally ran TWRP and I was able to wipe and install the 6.3.1 upload and all is working now! Thanks a ton once again!

Fastboot Help

Ran "adb reboot bootloader and my kindle2 rebooted into fastboot mode, with the green and red light "stop light" on the screen. The Green light is blinking. The problem I am having is that my device comes up on my computer as Otter2-Prod-04 and I have no idea how to install fastboot drivers.

Use KFAID and install the adb drivers that come with it.
If your device is showing up as stated... Fast boot drivers are installed.

Windows 8, but i've been thinking of creating an ubuntu partition because it seems people have a lot less problems with adb and the sort with linux.
I've tried the kindle fire drivers from the sdk, and the kindle fire hd drivers that some people used to root their kindle 2. had no problem getting my kindle fire to show up with adb. I've tried editing a driver to add the hardware id's that come up with the driver.

Very strange as the adb driver and fast boot driver are one and the same..
I assume you turned off driver signing and installed them manually (if not, do so)

What's the issue?
You're in fastboot.
That's what you want, you're done.
If you THINK there is an error with your PC connecting to the KF2 in fastboot, then try stuff with ADB. You say you want fastboot but you already have fastboot enabled. There is nothing more you can do to.....get more....fastboot?
Now, if ADB is having issues, then you should post what kind of errors or issues you're having, and then hopefully we can help more. As of now though, it seems like you're already at where you want to be.
I've got the driver installed after turning off the signature checking thing.
I just thought I would be able to issue fastboot commands, whenever i try and do that I just end up with waiting for devices. Not a big deal , my device is working just fine so it's not like im stuck or anything. Just trying to further advance my android knowledge.

Hey man, can you help me? How did you install ADB driver? could you be more specific on this turn off signature checking? I'm using windows 7 and even I manually install driver and did everything that you did I still have the yellow triangle in device manager and cant be detected in adb that's why I can't sideload files.

you've probably already have them installed. in device manager, right click on the yellow triangle and click "update driver" when it asks you if you want to automatically search, choose "browse my computer for drivers", then click "choose from a list of installed drivers" scroll down the list till you see "kindle" click on kindle and the driver you want should be called "android composite adb interface" that's how i got mine to work

Wifi transfer will only work until kfu wants to shut it off to install the bootloader and recovery.
You may want to try to reinstall the drivers and if that doesn't work, try deleting your .android folder

Can that work on a Linux on virtual box or VMware because I don't have Ubuntu installed
Run linux on a live usb. Use linux mint mate 13 or ubuntu 12.04 32 bit. It has to have persistent to save data between reboots. Once booted run Soupkit on the live system http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 . Truth not all usb cables are the same I have two that will not detect fastboot at all.
