This is a small hack for Acrobat Reader which allows you to skip around 30 pages in landscape mode and around 13 in portrait mode by pressing previous/next buttons.
Next button won`t make a last jump at the end of the document.Install the xap from the archive to use it(the hack is a modified original reader dll). You can also modify nextPage_Click and prevPage_Click methods in AdobeReader.il(ldc.r8 25.0 does all the magic here) to alter the jump distance, then build it with ilasm as a dll and make a new xap.

Can you give a link to the pdf you have problem with? Btw if i wont be able to fix the bug, you can still scroll pages using the screen, not the buttons, its not that painful for small docs(<30 pages), it only becomes an issue with real books in pdf format.
I would love to see reflow come to Adobe reader for wp7, I'm guessing we need to wait for Adobe to fix that.

Hate trying to read PDFs on your WP7??!!
Me too!
So after a long day of reformatting PDFs, attempts at reading already uploaded PDFs from GDOCs (mobile site and app,) I was nearly ready to give up and chalk up this experience to a wasted day... Then voila! I noticed the amazingly convenient (yet painfully under-stocked) app "media console" by Overdrive which I have used to read library books; has a great option to add your own sites where you can access EPUBs (electronic publications.)
I then discovered www.2epub.com where I could upload (or insert links) to my PDFs and convert them to EPUBs. Using some lovely JavaScripty upload and conversion, I was then able to copy my newly converted EPUBs download links to media console.
Presto change-o I can now read my PDFs (now EPUBs) from the convenience of my windows phone, nicely formatted and easy to read.
I hope this helps

I use Calibre for converting important PDFs to ePub and then upload those files to dropbox, from where I can pull it via Freda, an eBook reader that supports several formats.
Good to know, can you do all that from the phone? I am unfamiliar with Calibre and Freda.
Sent from my T7575 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
For the Calibre solution that dkp mentions, you have to run Calibre on a desktop PC.
But I just checked out the www.2epub.com site, with Freda. And I can confirm that works too. The steps are:
1) Create a new 'website source' for www.2epub.com
2) Navigate to it, tap the 'URL' button and enter the URL you want to convert, and then follow the instructions ... the site's javascript runs quite slowly on WP7 but it gets there.
3) When the 2epub site displays the EPUB download link, tap on it.
4) The EPUB will open in Freda.
A neat site - thanks for pointing it out.
sounds neat, however I still do not understand how it seems impossible to get a good PDF reader on WP7 -.-
My problem with all the converters, besides extra work, is that they mostly cannot handle PDFs with lots of pictures/graphs/diagramm.... Sad but true =(

I have checked and where media console by overdrive has a better layout IMO and is easier to work with; Freda does allow you to press and hold onto images to view them in a picture viewer mode, I will have to look at a chart to see what happens in those instances.

The version of Freda that's on the marketplace at the moment has an issue with GIF files (so you may find some charts don't work, as they are often stored in GIF format). The next release of Freda, now in public beta test, will fix this issue.
Good day people!
Frickin lovin the new Nexus, and after rooting and flashing clockwork and the updated image including the volume fix (I never experienced that btw) I've got it running almost perfect. A couple of minor tweaks would really make this device shine for me.
1) I can't get MTP support to work on my home PC. I've got a "modded" version of Windows XP pro SP3 but WMP11 just doesn't see my device with or without debugging. I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the PC not the phone as when I put it in CTP it works fine. So my question is: Is there a wifi based file transfer app that "supports folder management"? As when I used wifi file transfer I find it a right ballache to organise my music.
2) I used to run the Nexus S with NSCollab which took a lot from Cyanogen, namely the superb notification bar power settings i.e. wifi, 2g/3g, brightness etc. Is there an app out there that does the same thing or does it have to be baked into the ROM? I like the link to the settings on the bar but it'd be great to have more customisation on this.
Many thanks for your input and sorry if this has been covered. I know there's a thread on MTP but as my MTP issue is with my PC and not the phone I didn't feel like it was relevant.

Try using dropbox. It's more cloud based than file transfer but in the end it winds up with the same result (your files available on your pc). Dropbox has a client that installs on your PC so that your cloud storage shows up like any other folder would. Then install dropbox on your phone and upload from the phone and you will see it show up in the folder on your computer.
Good day!
Regarding your first question - a good app that I have used for a while is WiFi File Explorer (there is a Pro and a free version). It is a very good app - quite simple but it does let you organise the folders on you phone from the PC. There is also a free app called AirDroid which is supposed to very extremely immpressive. I have downloaded it but not yet tried it. But it provides a desktop like interface on which you can view your phones contents - supposed to be great.
For your second question - I think you may have to wait for more ROMs to come out before you can get this feature! I'm looking forward to it - suprised it wasn't integrated into ICS as standard tbh.

Hey there,
Downloaded Airdroid and it looks great. Can't test it properly yet as my work desktop isn't on the WiFey. From the looks of the screenshots it has proper folder management options which is exactly what I was looking for. The problem with wifi file explorer for me is that it's heavily HTML-based so no drag and drop functionality... will let you know how it goes. Cheers for that.

MVPS HOSTS now includes entries for most major parasites, hijackers and unwanted Adware/Spyware programs!
What it does ...
You can use a HOSTS file to block ads, banners, 3rd party Cookies, 3rd party page counters, web bugs, and even most hijackers. This is accomplished by blocking the connection(s) that supplies these little gems. The Hosts file is loaded into memory (cache) at startup, so there is no need to turn on, adjust or change any settings with the exception of the DNS Client service (see below). Windows automatically looks for the existence of a HOSTS file and if found, checks the HOSTS file first for entries to the web page you just requested. The 127.0.0.1 is considered the location of your computer, so when an entry listed in the MVPS HOSTS file is requested on a page you are viewing, your computer thinks 127.0.0.1 is the location of the file. When this file is not located it skips onto the next file and thus the ad server is blocked from loading the banner, Cookie, or some unscrupulous ActiveX, or javascript file.
Example - the following entry 127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net blocks all files supplied by that DoubleClick Server to the web page you are viewing. This also prevents the server from tracking your movements. Why? ... because in certain cases "Ad Servers" like Doubleclick (and many others) will try silently to open a separate connection on the webpage you are viewing, record your movements then yes ... follow you to additional sites you may visit.
Using a well designed HOSTS file can speed the loading of web pages by not having to wait for these ads, annoying banners, hit counters, etc. to load. This also helps to protect your Privacy and Security by blocking sites that may track your viewing habits, also known as "click-thru tracking" or Data Miners. Simply using a HOSTS file is not a cure-all against all the dangers on the Internet, but it does provide another very effective "Layer of Protection".
In case you're wondering ... this all happens in microseconds, which is much faster than trying to fetch a file from half way around the world. Another great feature of the HOSTS file is that it is a two-way file, meaning if some parasite does get into your system (usually bundled with other products) the culprit can not get out (call home) as long as the necessary entries exist. This is why it's important to keep your HOSTS file up to Date. How to get notified of MVPS HOSTS updates.
How to get notified of MVPS HOSTS updates.
This download includes a simple batch file (mvps.bat) that will rename the existing HOSTS file to HOSTS.MVP then copy the included updated HOSTS file to the proper location. For more information please see the Windows version that applies to you ...
Windows 8 requires special instructions - over there see here
Windows 7 requires special instructions - over there see here
Win Vista requires special instructions - over there see here
Manual Install Method - Unzip in a "temp" folder and place in the appropriate installed location:
If you are having trouble downloading or extracting the HOSTS file [click here]
Note: the below locations are for the typical default paths, edit as needed.
Windows 8/7/Vista/XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows DNS Client Service
In most cases the DNS Client Service is not needed, it is recommended to turn it off. These instructions are intended for a single (home-user) PC. If your machine is part of a "Domain", check with your IT Dept. before applying this work-around. This especially applies to Laptop users who travel or bring their work machines home. Make sure to reset the Service (if needed) prior to connecting (reboot required) to your work Domain ...
To resolve this issue (manually) open the "Services Editor"
Start | Run (type) "services.msc" (no quotes)
Win8 users - Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Scroll down to "DNS Client", Right-click and select: Properties - click Stop
Click the drop-down arrow for "Startup type"
Select: Manual (recommended) or Disabled click Apply/Ok and restart.
My recommendation easy way to do it:
Hostsman includes an option to turn off the DNS Service [screenshot]
Workaround for using the MVPS HOSTS file and leaving the DNS Client service enabled (set to: Automatic)
If you find after a period of time that your browser seems sluggish with the DNS Client service enabled you can manually flush the DNS cache
Close all browser windows ... open a "Command Prompt" from the Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
Win8 users - Charms Bar > Search > (type) command prompt > Select: Command Promt (left pane) Ok the UAC prompt
(type) ipconfig /flushdns (press Enter) Then close the Command Prompt ...
A better Win8/7/Vista/XP workaround would be to add two Registry entries to control the amount of time the DNS cache is saved. (KB318803)
Flush the existing DNS cache (see above)
Start > Run (type) regedit
Win8 users - from the Charms Bar, select: Search (type) run and select Run (left pane) and (type) "regedit" (no quotes)
Navigate to the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Dnscache\Parameters
Click Edit > New > DWORD Value (type) MaxCacheTtl
Click Edit > New > DWORD Value (type) MaxNegativeCacheTtl
Next right-click on the MaxCacheTtl entry (right pane) and select: Modify and change the value to 1
The MaxNegativeCacheTtl entry should already have a value of 0 (leave it that way - see screenshot)
Close Regedit and reboot ...
As usual you should always backup your Registry before editing ... see Regedit Help under "Exporting Registry files"

Useless warnings? Come back to me when your computer is ridden in malware from carelessly downloaded files in a few months time.
Guys, calm down. @SixSixSevenSeven is right, though. I'd rather not download any weird files and copy them to my system32 directory, especially if there isn't any source available.

Guys, there is nothing wrong with this - it's been going on for years in this exact format. Any ad-blocker that you use (apart from browser extensions/add-ons) will use this method.
The hosts file (yes, located in a sub-directory of System32 ) is what your PC looks at for address translation. It's a text file, so you can open it in a text editor (even notepad will do it) and check it there, but other than being used to translate domain names to IP addresses it is not in any way active.
If you're concerned about it I suggest you don't use it. If you're curious about it then open the hosts file and look at the contents. Other than that, it's nothing to worry about.

I really don't know what you are talking about, OP just shared a method to block ads, no application discussion whatsoever, never stated it was a "only method" or anything like it. You are definitively successful at changing topics though.
and BTW, it is not against forum rules.
The only thing that could possibly be against the rules is the fact that ads are getting blocked - but AFAIK XDA has nothing about that.
Perhaps you don't like how it uses a closed source utility (which is actually open source)? Well then you might not like 90% of ROMs on this site - for all we know they set all the text we type in to some Chinese servers.

And I don't know what the OP uploaded, as far as U knkw it's a text file. You misunderstood me. I'm saying that closed source software could always have backdoors, even if it comes from XDA users.
Even if somebody did find an exploit that somehow executed code in a .txt file, they wouldn't be using it one some kids wanting to block ads, they'd make a lot of cash either by reporting that bug to Microsoft or by selling it on a black market.

There is a reason I donb't click on links like that. That is (mainly) because my laptop's dead and I'm using my mum's, which is a really cheapy-sh*tty thing which doesn't even support NX from sides of the CPU (Which means it can't run Windows 8 and/or 8.1).
And the other reason being: I don't trust any files which I, myself, downloaded from somewhere you can't always trust where someone wants me to copy it to my system path.
So, no. I won't check things out that 'I don't know'.
And what was the point of this thread, is if only leads to a different thread?

i second this
Wait?,There is a Flappy Bird for Fire TV?!?
Is gameplay in landscape?
The app itself has to be in landscape orientation on Fire TV,otherwise it could be simulating portrait by not using the entire screen-width,which would be as torturous as the original Flappy Bird when played on a tablet that could use landscape.
Although, portrait mode sometimes works on Fire TV for some reason.
Tip:XDA Forums supports attachments, and also supports the apk format directly.
Your limit is 20.00MB for an apk.
If it is larger than 20.00MB,try compressing it into a zip.
Zip files are also limited to a whopping 20.00MB of space.
If you have access to a Windows PC like Win7,you can take advantage of
its "Send To> Compressed (zipped) folder" a most powerful compression tool.

Yes there is. Its was specifically built for fire tv by the original creator. Not even fire tabs or phone can download it.

Edit:Alright, can someone mod this so I don't need gamecircle or the Amazon Appstore
so I can actually testrun it?
My Fire TV's current condition with Flappy is improperly trying to open an action list instead of doing the normally assigned action. (whatever that is)
It keeps spamming me with the gamecircle after I touch the "no thanks" option.
I only caught a glimpse of the in-game portion where you select a bird.
Fire Phone good to Go!
The apk works perfectly on the Amazon Fire Phone! Wonder why they would exclude it from their own newly launched device? As for other android devices? Yea I get it, they paid Nguyen (developer) a sick amount of loot for exclusivity! Probably 6 figures?

Report the annoying gamecircle/amazon issue to the developer as a legitimate Fire TV owner.
In a normal circumstance, you would only have the Amazon controller and the remote, meaning you can't
complete the spammed gamecircle bs.
Or maybe I botched something in post-root,and I even have the bueller IME enabled now,but not set as the
default because of the original issue. (null keyboard is my default IME)

(at least when not frozen in place from the EFFIN gamecircle crap)
I really want this fixed since I feel that it is much easier than the torturous portrait-oriented version, and would be tons more fun.
I've seen a video of somebody already setting major records like 300+ points.
I am making my own clone of Flappy Birds family with basic split screen multiplayer (using modded sprites to avoid copyright of course). Should be done in a day or 2 but I may make it $.99 since it took a bit to make.
I give up. I tried several modifications to the XML manifest and various different compiling/signing tools but the furthest I've gotten is the opening screen on my Nexus 7.
On my Galaxy S5, the FBF APKs (even the original) will no longer even install. Android is mad at me.
It appears that this website has someone working on it: thedroid.net/flappy-birds-family-android-apk/
Not sure if I'm allowed to post that. I apologize if that's against the rules.

Download lucky patcher apk on Google not play store. It's mainly for cracking apps but I don't condone warez. BUT it does allow for removing parts of an app. I removed some stuff and got the Amazon game circle removed but then force closed. Maybe you guys can try with it.
Also since its for fire tv, how do we know it will have touch support?
Sent from my AFTB using XDA Free mobile app

Good point on the touch support, but I thought someone said it was working on the fire phone?
