I have that error too, not for the status bar, but for the icons, maybe it is a rosie problem. wait for the fix from htc and report them (the more report the more chance they will care for it)

Go into the messaging app you want to disable [stock] press menu > notification settings, then disable them.

oops my bad I should of been more clear... I'm talking about a second notification at the top of the screen not on the bottom dock, sorry

Are your messages showing twice in the messaging app? You may be receiving them twice, hence two notifications.
What rom are you on & are you using the stock app or a different one?

look at the pic, its the envelope at the top, that's not the stock message icon, that's from launcher pro, when I pull it down to check it now it says u have 0 messages, that's cool but why does it has to stay up there, if I receive another text the stock envelope will appear next to it, so I disabled the stock notification but nothing clears this unless I manually do it

Jane I'm not rooted, all stock

I'm sorry, but I don't see a picture. I'm currently using LauncherPro (just installed it as well) and I have never received a message like that. Are you sure it isn't another app? Do you have any SMS related apps installed that aren't necessarily replacement apps? Or maybe you've installed something else recently?
One way to check if it's LauncherPro - next time you get the notification, don't clear it. Go into settings > applications > manage applications and find LP. Then force stop the application. If the icon persists then you know it isn't LauncherPro. While you're there, go ahead and force stop any recently installed applications and see which one clears it.
Oh, and are you using Google Voice?

thanks Jane I figured it out, it was some launcher pro service pack I had downloaded, uninstalled it now everything is good, oh I thought I had uploaded a screen shot on a previous post I guess not, thanks again!

Sorry to revive a 2 year old thread, but I just started having this problem myself. I have an HTC Evo V (Virgin Mobile) Everything stock phone. I get like a postcard looking thing that says "new message(s)" and won't go away unless I press "clear". This just started happening, and I wanted to know what was your fix.
Thank you
Hello,
My sister her htc one V has a weird problem.
Every touch she makes there is a blue line who follows her finger.
Also behind the notification bar is a weird red/white bar with different numbers. ( see screenshots)
Does anyone recognise this problem? Or does anyone know how to fix it?
Kind regards,,
Drowzz

How can I get rid of the AOKP Statistics from the notification bar. No matter how I set it, continues to show up.
Other than that - great ROM.

Sorry but this doesnot belong in the development section. Please ask this in the Q&A section. Could a Moderator please move this?
Sorry, I thought I was in the ROM specific forum

If you see a misplaced or questionable post, always use the "Report Post" function to bring it to the attention of the moderators. On your web browser, it's the triangle icon with the exclamation mark inside. Simply putting "Could a moderator move this" inside a post often fails to get noticed and there's a good chance it will be missed. The RP system guarantees one of the moderators will see the report. Thanks.
Hey , every time I send a txt or make a call I get an annoying message pop up on the screen telling me how much credit I have left , does anyone else have this and is there a way to disable it ?
Cheers

That is carrier message... Depends on the carrier... Some have. Some don't.
There's no way to disable it AFAIK...

You might try in Settings/Call/Additional Settings...
This is where my carrier settings like that live.
It depends on your carrier. With mine it's an option on the giffgaff site.
No joy but thanks for the replys

A word of advice just in case you are gonna flash any of the roms or follow any of the guides on here, Don't
head over to the at&t one x forums as everything in this section is for the international tegra 3 one x and will cause you problems if you use it :fingers-crossed:
