CyanogenMod 7.2.0 / GAPPS - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently rooted my girlfriends Wildfire and missed the Google Apps.
So I wanted to download the latest apps and now whats about the Google Playstore?
I opened the zip file and couldn't find it.
(Here under Google Apps addon)
Is there a package where the latest Google Apps are integrated?
Or will they be updated through Playstore itself?

Don't worry just flash the zip, setup google account, open "android market" wait for some time and it will update itself to the playstore.
If it doesn't update then wait for a day or so, sometimes it updates without you knowing (like a ninja )

Okay,
I will install today and will reply if I have any issues.
Thanks for your help.:good:
EDIT:
Okay it was immediately changed to the new market.

Hi So I just flashed CM 7.2.0 and after tried to flash GApps 20120429 which as far as I can tell is the most recent one. I get to the part where I enter my google info and did all that the play store opened but now I am getting Play Store Force closures and I cannot get into the App store at all. I tried flashing again and it is still happening. Any advice on what to try next? Thanks!

You flashed ics gapps on gingerbread!
Latest gb gapps should be named gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip.

yup that was it

[Q] Android Market on CM7

I've been googling about how to get the market in the CM7 rom for about two weeks , first I downloaded the market as a normal app , just got the apk and it doesn't work , then I read about that "gapps" package that I've flashed and no market appeared , I've just got three aditional applications : google search / car home / news and weather.
Looking for help getting thr market , thanks in advance.

Here you go. The newes Android Market. Just install the apk file on your phone.
You can complain about the absence of market after doing two things.
One is flashing the universal Google apps package for cm7 from recovery. And the second is signing into Google account on your phone. I hope you have done both.
And simply flashing the apk file may not install the market when there is no market on phone.
You can also check with a file manager whether or not there is "vending.apk" in the path "system/app".

im having the same problem , no market in phone after flashing rom, i tried to flash gaaps but no market again. i try to install vending.app from system app but it want install. installing market app from internet and it fc all time

Anyone got the New Market update yet?

Did any DINC users got the new market update yet? couple of my friends, non-Verizon, got it already.
It might be out, the 152#build of nightly I installed had a new market in it without installing a pirated apk of the new market. I recently just installed it so it was a fresh new install. I don't know exactly if it was meant to be there or if it was a pre-made market install from the rom.

I don't know about any OTA or whatever, but it's very easy to just install the apk for the new market, there's plenty of threads about it, with an easy apk download, I'm running it.

Nope shouldn't be as mine updated last week, if you would like it to force update to the newest market you can go to settings/manage applications/market and hit the delete market updates button and it should update to the latest.

Gaaps MIUI
will this version of Gaaps work with MIUI ROM ?
Work on all CM7 androids?
AW: [TUTORIAL] Install Gaaps for Cyanogenmod7, Market and Google apps.
Some ROMs have their own recommended GApps so check first in your ROMs thread. If not, you can just browse goo.im for the latest GApps. Make sure, it's the right package for your Android version. Jb = jellybean, gb = gingerbread. For the flashing you can follow the guide above.

Thank you.
I will be an ungrateful dude if I do not thank you for this download. I was on Jelly bean on Lg P500 but had to downgrade to Gingerbread because I was not enjoying it much. But when I did, google apps was missing, and you provided a solution.
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Please will you marry meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Haha!!!:highfive:

I have the same problem and yes, using a file explorer there is no Play store at system/app.
Is it possible that there is no Play store or Market until I setup a google account on the device (because at the moment I'm right after factory reset, so there is nothing on the phone)?

I downloaded the proper gapps, boot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe data / factory reset, install gapps, reboot. Then now it's working. I don't know what happened previously after the first factory reset (it was from the menu, not from recovery).
:/
I've been trying that for a while now, and I still can't use Google Play Store.

[Q] CM10 - are gapps mandatory?

Hello!
Might sound like a stupid question :silly: but:
- is it necessary to install gapps? Or, if you just don't need/want them, don't install them and phone will work like a charm?
Asking because it says (quote):
install kernel
full wipe
flash rom
reboot into rom
reboot back into recovery
flash gapps
Just curious, as gapps install a LOT of things... Someone might need just play store, or just search, or just chrome, or... you know what I mean... :fingers-crossed:
Thanks in advance...
Gapps basically contain all the preloaded apps by Google (Google Maps, News and Weather, etc). Your phone will still work without flashing Gapps, but you'll be missing out on Google services, especially Google Now. So, it is better to flash the Gapps

Yes, you're right about what's in gapps.
But, let's say, for me, I don't need Google Maps, as I have iGO. I also have another weather app, I don't need Google Now, and so on...
With gapps installed, it's a bit hard to tell which one of gapps you can freeze or uninstall, because they seem cross-connected...
Not to mention that it's no use to have some app on the phone that you don't use or need and it's just taking some memory...
So, basically, like you said, no need to install gapps and if I want just one app from Google, I install it. And the phone will work. Good, thank you!
You can install gapps and then use a root explorer to go into /system/app and delete the apps you don't need.

Idk if this applies to the One V, but NOT flashing GAPPS could result in some functions not working like Lockscreen, Home button, and other elements.

Jellytime - Dictation

After having flashed the rom jellytime 4.2 r1 the dictation with Google Voice Dictation doesn't work.
How can I fix it?
Download the latest release (R6.1). It was fixed in R3.

I did it, but it still doesn't work, inspite of a full wipe.
I resolved a similar issue by deleting Google search cache and updating to its latest version from the play store. If the latest update has already been installed, then you should uninstall the updates, clear cache and let the update run again..
You should also attempt to flash gapps a second time...
