Oh wow - About xda-developers.com

Ever since I joined XDA way back in '09, I've been stuck with the wrong time zone. I think it was because I was using my old Samsung Omnia, and it was so slow with web browsing, I was just trying to make an account without it freezing up, and didn't read everything carefully Anyways, I always assumed that XDA was based in Europe or something and that's why all the times were messed up. About 5 minutes ago I saw the "Edit Options" link in the User CP and realized that's how you change it. Even after 2 1/2 years, XDA still surprises me

[Q]New Samsung AGREEMENT popped up ... CIQ-related?

Minding my own biz, pulled my phone off the charger tonight, and what do I see: (attached)
This happened without my touching anything. Maybe it comes from something normal, but ..... are you guys seeing it as well?
I CANCELED, DID NOT ACCEPT.
I have had this pop up several times actually. It does it randomly.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
i've never seen it
not even when i had my phone in stock for the first 1~2 weeks
I'm running basic UVKID rooted and have pulled CIQ and almost all TMo bloatware. Been this way for many weeks.
Could this be the OTA?
its the agreement on the voice command app. If you double tap the home button it pops up first if you haven't used the app yet

S3 eyes app

The S3 has an app that makes the front cam to keep scanning your eyes, if you are not watching the screen, the phone will turn it off.. But will keep it on if your watching it.
Guess thats part of the s3 rom/touchwiz but in fact its annoying to read say a pdf file and turn on the screen or touch it every 15 seconds or setted time for it to go off to be able to keep reading..
Its there and app out there able to do this or any rom out there capable of this?

Edit: so the person who wrote last on that thread.. Did it 16 seconds earlier than me.. So i was writing this by the time the other thread bumped

Addicted to my phone

I'm completely addicted to my phone, like most people on XDA, I mean I m on it 24/7 as soon as I wake up, and no for phone call or text (it actually bothers me) Idk what to do, flashing roms, kernels, checking for updates, does anyone feel the same, that's one the reason I had an iPhone I was limited to what could I do on it, was going more to the gym and what not, I know I can limit myself but is hard, anyone else wants to admit they are too? Anything that you have done to get away with it? And has it work?
I get emails and there not even important, going back 4 years ago is when started, getting the evo a few years back made it worse, I could actually watch hd youtube on it and stop using the computer less and less, where I work I'm the GM and I could check my phone whenever I want and that's bad, I mean looking at might stats I could spent up to 6 hours with my screen on, now it feel like a job to check my phone then anything else, you see xda members asking for the next update or when cyanogen is releasing his work on XDA, is crazy to admitted but truth at the same time, even think of unrooting my phone sometimes and I can't just give it up, anyways guys I just want to see how many people feel the same way, thank you for reading
Thanks for the responses xda members

I am completely addicted as well...my girl hates my phone!! I am constantly doing something with it. Always on here...hoping for new updates from the devs here...new kernels, themes, whatever. I love my phone...this is also the first one I have rooted...which has made my phone obsession even more intense.
Is anyone addicted to running speed test? I sure am lol

Yeah my wife hates my phone too, before she though I was texting another girl or something, now she knows about rooting and all the time I'm on recovery mode she ask me"what are you doing to your phone again", really trying to stop tho

I'm on mine all day too. I have music playing on it though and browsing. I hate flashing phones now though as the hd2 burned me out.
Hello my name is JayVee and I am also addicted to my phone. I have not gotten rid of that just new feeling you get with a gadget. There's no slowing down with this one. I listen to music, browse the Web, watch YouTube vids, and play games on this thing all day. I even refresh my twitter feeds 1000x per day on here. I use it more than my 2 computers. The first thing I do when I wake up is say good morning to my phone to wake it up and it feels so sweet when it listens. Makes me smile. My friends now call me antisocial because I'm on my phone more than I talk to them when we hang out. Idc tho.

This should be submitted to Samsung for a commercial.
I got my first whiff of addiction with MTG3G and it never left me, android in general, now S3 specifically. Android shall rule the world. Oh wait, it already does!

Yeah but is not a good thing tho, i been reading articles of how people have a hard time getting of their phones, spent less times with their family, just to stay "up to day", just like the world is coming to an end, and is hard to admit but is true, I hate it sometimes and I really try not to use it 0_o

I used to be addicted to running speed tests until you realize it uses up a lot of data and results didn't change that much when you keep running the tests repeatedly lol.

Funny. Not because the addiction but because after they showed it was Windows phone, people seemed to not care as much..
So my name is Joseph and I am also an addict lol. Thanks for your honesty. I started with an HD2. I didn't even know about rooting or flashing and thought Winmo 6.5 was great lol. Then my buddy Wilfred turned me to the XDA site and it's been full on every since. My wife and I have always had the same phone HD2 and now Galaxy SII. When I wasn't fooling around with mine I was trying to doctor up her phone. I can't tell you how many times I have been up all night trying to fix something I broke on her HD2. oops lol. She would get so mad because I would accidentally erase all her apps and have to start over. ( During my noob phase ) But the only thing to do is sometimes just TURN IT OFF! I can hardly do it but sometimes thats the only way. I will leave it upstairs while we hang out downstairs so she does't get mad. I just got a great deal on the SSGSII and now I wish I had've waited on the SIII. lol. Oh well. :silly:
ADDICTED! you bet, I do my HTC-Hd2, mytouch4g, SamNote i717, and this one. Checking for anything to do on any of them, lucky for me the wife is all into it with, also a manager, so I am on them all day also...it's a DRUG...hehe

Screen Wake Delay

I'm new to this phone, bought it two days ago and just rooted it today. Ever since I got the phone there's always been a 1-2 sec delay from the time I press the power button to when the screen unlocks. I've searched around but every thread I've found turns into a bunch of mindless arguing over to whether it's a problem or not. I would just like to know if there's a way to get rid of it or if it's something I just have to learn to live with. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated :]
I've never noticed / never takes more than a second from push power to unlocked screen.

There is no fix other than changing the minimum cpu but that would drain your battery. I guess the issue has gone unnoticed for me after using this phone for about a nine months.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It could be noticeable when coming from other devices but if you have stuck with Samsung for your smartphones for sometime it will probably go unnoticed. I thought that too when I first came over.

Really sick of this crap anyone else have this. ..

Phone just all of a sudden has 0 service and can't text or anything sometime it even freezes and or reboots every rom and every kernel really annoying anyone else?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
No, mine's rock steady as Jim Dandy. I'd suggest saving what's important, resetting and start from scratch.
So no one else is losing service randomly or freezes or reboots?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I get random reboots but like once a month or something like that. But I'm for sure done with sprints crappy service.

I was having the same issue, no 4g and no bars. Then I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086769
went ahead and flashed it and buumm every thing started to work. I also played with the ##DATA# settings made the 4g work like crazy sweet.
just make sure you write down the setting you have before you change any thing.
o and by the way you might need to download Get My MSL from play store.
hope it works for you.
no problems here, but service just plain sucks. i can't even stream google music at 320kb/s. i don't see why service would have gotten so crappy lately since sprint sure as heck hasn't had a large influx of customers. it was getting better few months ago, now it's back to crap. i'm temped to dump sprint even though i've got the sero plan. crappy service at a good price is still crap.
Best thing to do would be what was suggested... Start from scratch.... I started having problems with random reboots and storage not showing.... So i used Odin to flash back to stock rooted. After that no more problems....
i had the same issue
but i start using a custom rom but a stock kernel all is good at least i think so lol
I found I had zero service tbis morning with AOSP. Flashed back to Twiz, updated my prl for the first time in forever... And back up
