I really don't know where to begin. But something is just wrong. I have downgraded hboot. Flashed stock hboot, Flashed my froyo backup. But some folders will not remove itself. Key, wifi, Bluetooth.. basically everything is just not right. Is there a way to print here with terminal.... so you guys can see, and hopefully help me find out, if everything is like it should be?

I rooted my phone back in november, around the same time everyone else did it, and everything worked fine I suppose. However, lately, I've been having trouble with flashing the newer roms. Sometimes, the market would be missing when I flash a rom. Many times, I'm just stuck in a bootloop. Sometimes, apps malfunction, specifically embeded system media players. I've also had encounters typing text into a text field where the cursor moves to different parts of the field randomly. NONE of these problems have been solved by reflashing the rom. I'm using koush's latest recovery, 3.0.0.5, as well.
However, I don't have the most current hboot version on the g2. The version I have is 0.76blahblahblah. Are these problems being caused by an outdated hboot?

I used the visionary temproot/permroot method on theunlockr.com. I forgot to mention that I actually have the engineering s-off. Could that be why I'm having trouble with the roms?

Hi people,
Go a question about cm7. I really like the rom, and want to use it. I have had it installed with data2ext script. All's going good until I restart the phone. Then all of my user data is wiped. I have to log on to most apps again except for market and my contacts were still there. Even the wallpaper had changed. Anybody got a clue. Is it the d2e script?
Thanx in advance for any replys!

set cpu seems to be stuck at 25.2 degrees Celsius i have tried all the wiping and uninstalling and re-installing possible is there a fix for this or am i stuck
Try flashing an older/recent Radio.
Your desire z / g2 might not have a core temerature reader built In.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Just tried flashing radios and that did not work. Is it really possible that some g2s have core temp readers and some dont

Dude flashing a radio won't fix that. Sure wish people would quit telling others to flash a radio for everything that goes wrong on their devices.

I didn't think it would work I was just really hopeful cause the temperature profiles was one of the main reasons I use setcpu. I'm just hoping its not a hardware issue cause I don't want to have to get a warranty replacement, I just got done with the whole rooting fiasco and don't want to go through that again.

Check the hboot version. There are different methods for each one.

i dont know how and the phone has no service yet if thats required its just an expensive game/mp3 player till i activate it
Its shown in the bootloader. Hit volume down and power button (while off) to get into it. I suggest you do a little research before proceeding. There are some good threads about rooting the inc2.

Thanks and what kind of research would you suggest. Like what should I search for on google? And does entering bootloader mess anything up or is it like recovery where I can just turn the phone off and on again and it'll be normal?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
What model do you have if its 6.01.605.05 thats what I have and the tool downgrade vivow hboot .98 would not work I had to work around that and do it a different way.

Going into the bootloader doesn't do anything to the phone, you will see your version at the top. Use the volume button to go to Fastboot and then hit power button to select. Go to reboot to get out.
I typedHow to root the incredible 2 into Google and this is what came up. There isn't a whole lot of special searching that needs to be done, the info is there with just a general search.
Hboot version is 0.98.0000 and software number is 5.10.605.9 and its android 2.3.4 any help pointing me to a specific thread or something?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
There is a downgrade .98 bootloader in android development thread. You will loose all your data to downgrade and achieve s-off.
Lose data as in phone data or all my apps and stuff?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
Everything in your sdcard will stay but all your apps will be lost.
Your contacts will be restored after you sign in to your google account and it resyncs.
SMS + MMS will be lost also
Ok thanks for the help guys

You need to download the VI aka virtuous infinity 1.35 beta1 rom on your pc. Then place the zip on sdcard. Unfortunately you will have to flash that rom. Follow paarthdesai's instructions. Lastly if you forgot your gmail password u will have to retrieve it. Keep in mind that it could be the kernel that is causing this issue, just a guess, dont have other details so this is the best i can do... PM if you neef further info. Easy fix.....trust us.....

lol. it's not the kernel =).
he put the wrong combination too many times and he doesn't know his gmail password. and we don't have Vi virtuous infinity. This is ONE V forum!
for the op:
And yeah, as paarthdesai says, this phone might be stolen given the fact that you are posting from a DESIRE HD and you state that YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR GMAIL PW? come one, everyone here knows that if you have 2 android phones, you are keeping your gmail account like a saint (giving the fact that is strictly related to the market and other android related stuff). also, you don't know how to enter in hboot and you are having desire hd + one v? or your one v is new in your hands and you don't know how the hell can you enter in this area?
another thing that intrigues me is that, you say that when you open the WIFI, nothing happens, this means that you have your router at home passworded and being a stolen phone, you cannot connect to your router because you can't go to settings to put in the password.
nice going.
dude as icebox says..
100% doubt we have
soo no help from me neither 1cebox i think.. go to htc centre they will fix it themselves.. nd also ul be verified that phone is urs ..

Its probably not a stolen phone, but I guess he found it and decided to keep it. I might be wrong.
Factory reset in recovery is the best way
Haters gonna hate. Potatoes gonna potate. Waiters gonna wait. Aligators gonna aligate.
I KNOW MY GMAIL PASSWORD, just tell me how can I switch the WiFi on so the phone can verify it!!!
