Newly rooted and rom'd as of tonight, but having issues with the amazon market. I'm on eyecandys ICS. Cleared cache and data for the app....but it still tells me to login with a valid user name/password....and before you say it, they are both correct, confirmed by logging into the kindle app. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem. The crappy part is, is that my email isn't recognized as an amazon account anymore.
Does rooting the KF cause amazon to cancel your account?
anyone else have this problem?
It doesn't cancel the account, mine is still active and in use on my phone, my wife's phone, and my transformer prime...not sure why it wont take it on the kindle

well i downloaded and flashed jandycane 1.7.2 and when i rebooted there was a problem with trebuchet, the app keeps closing and it wont work so my home screen wont load either so im not sure if there is a problem with the app it self or something else. Was wondering if there was something i could do to fix it or should i go back to cm10 without jandy cane
Clean install? Dirty install? Use another launcher, uninstall trebuchet, reinstall trebuchet. Try that.

When I encounter odd issues, I also clean wipe to fix. Glad you got it going.

Mine did the same thing when I did a dirty flash. A clean flash took care of it with no issues. The trebuchet launcher on jandycane doesn't seem to play well with others.

So I am running a fresh install of FreeGS3 0.2.0 and I tried installing Swiftkey 3 from the Amazon appstore as I had before when I was stock. Whenever I try to setup the keyboard I just get a black screen and then it force closes. I am not sure what is happening I deleted every trace of it off my SD card and re-installed and such but it still won't work, I even re-installed the rom.
If anyone has any information I would be grateful.
Did you wipe data when you installed the rom? SwiftKey 3 works for me. Though I tend to use Swype more.

I'm using SwiftKey 3 from the Amazon Appstore to type this using my SGSIII. It's the first app I install (after the Appstore) with every new ROM I flash. Haven't had any issues with it at all. And it certainly isn't broken.

I also have this problem with Swiftkey 3 from the Amazon App store...so yeah the one from the Amazon App store is broken. I had to resort to running the old Swiftkey. I hope they fix it soon. If not I'll havee to buy it from the Google store and you can bet Ill never use the Amazon app again.

The last time I installed it was 3 days ago. I always install everything fresh when flashing instead of from backups. It's the most recent version that is available on Amazon.

Hey guys, my stepfather has a Kindle Fire and everything has worked fine for some time, but all of a sudden when he goes to apps and selects store... Nothing happens! It will let him go to the book store etc.... It just will not go to the app store, and when he tries to open an already downloaded app I it says that he must be logged in to access this app... It prompts him to log in, but when he hits login it just flashes back to the homepage. I don't use this device and don't know anything about it.. Can anybody help?
If I have him deregister the device and log back in, is he going to have to re-download everything?

Maybe try clearing the data for the app store to see if it helps. Sometimes a simple reboot can work wonders for malfunctioning apps. If he was to factory reset, he would have to re-download all the apps but at least they will all be listed on the Amazon cloud.

I was wondering if just logging out of his account and back in might fix it but he's convinced that he will lose everything. If he deregisters the device will everything still be there when he logs back in? I already cleared data and he force stop.

If he deregisters the device it will wipe the data & apps that are currently installed BUT when he logs back on after everything is wiped, all he has to do is go to the cloud and all the apps he ever downloaded will be listed and ready to be downloaded again.
Sometimes certain apps will cause issues with the system and performance. You could try deleting apps one by one to see if it helps with the issue.

Actually I was wrong....it seems "deregistering" the Fire DOES NOT delete all the data. I thought it did but researched it some and it keeps all data. It's been so long since I used stock it's hard to remember lol (that's my excuse) but since no data other than account information is wiped, the problem could persist.

I had the same problem. Amazon is awesome when replacing kindles. Just give them a call, and normally they will send you another one, and THEN you send yours in. Mine was dual booted and just sent it back, and was fine. I'm not sure tho, they may send you a second gen..

I believe @Ichigo made a guide in the Dual boot thread a while back. Lemmie check
Here's a guide. I don't have much time, so I can't explain properly, and I may forget some steps.
Guide:
1)Backup sdcard
2)Wipe Alt-Partitions with flashable .zip here
3)Run
4)Download fff 1.4 here and install it via fastboot(unzip for .bin file)
5)Download GR9 Modaco
6)Flash GR9 Modaco(backup your current ROM)
7)Go to settings and do a factory reset.
Put your backup'ed sdcard files back in your sdcard
9)Recover
10)You should now be undual-booted and have your full sdcard storage back.

Gapps failure is the best way I can describe my problem. About a week ago my nexus 7 decided to reboot itself while I was in the middle of some gaming (asphalt 8 I think). I took it as just you know the system needed it and said whatever.
The next day some apps start having problems. Specifically Google play apps. Then all of a sudden my nexus reboots and starts boot looping on the 4 colored balls part of the boot animation and then keeps going Google then balls. Back and forth.
I used nexus toolkit (v1.8.0 I think) to reboot the device in adb then ended up reflashing stock because the problems persisted.
Now the device is not bootlooping but every few mins some app force closes or pops up saying jot responding. Or even 7-10 different popups...
Idk what to do now. Please help?
NOTE:
This nexus 7 was purchased around Christmas time at my local best buy. It has been unlocked and rooted. Only things I ever did was use titanium backup to restore some game data from my phone. Never did anything more than that! And I guessed maybe a virus (if there is any such thing on android) did this but kaspersky reports no malware of any kind.
Apps and processes that fail:
Google play
Play music
Play books
Play games
Play magazine
Google+
Gmail
Google currents
Play movies
Google search
Google keyboard
Google text to speech
I don't remember the processes that crash so when they do I will update you on what they are. Please help!

What I would recommend that you do is use the nexus root toolkit to install twrp recovery manager then boot into recovery manager and try clearing cache and everything but dont clear data and see if that helps.
If after you try that the problem still persists then boot into recovery manager and wipe everything....cache, Dalvik, and data.
By wiping data you will have removed your apps but they can easily be reinstalled with google play. You can use titanium backup to restore game data.
Oh and give this a try first...create a new gmail account and add that account under settings and see if that fixes anything. If under the new account you dont see any problems try switching back to your original account and see if the problems go away.
Hope it helps...

Thanks droidshadow for your response. Seeing how no one else commented this really must be an issue with my device. Not widely known. I attempted your solutions to no avail so I will be sending it to Asus. Hopefully they will give me a nice unit back that has no problems.

You did get TWRP on it? You could go all out with a custom ROM. In any case this looks like a simple enough issue to fix. Go to settings > apps > scroll right to all > now scroll down to Google Play Services, click on it and then clear cache. Now go down to Google Play and clear data, clear cache and then force stop. Ignore any misbehaving warning you may see. Now go open Google Play and re-register if asked. Let me know of if this helps.
What's going on should not require you to send it in. Worst case you do a complete factory reset with fastboot and not some tool.

Thank you for your tips. I actually did clear cashe and data on the services and even on other apps that randomly shut off. It temporarily fixed the issue for about an hour then all issues came back.
I have reset with nexus toolkit, I have factory reset while on the tablet. And I have also erased everything in the stock recovery.
It sounds like a simple issue but its not being resolved! I thought about just putting on cm11 or something but not sure if that would fix it considering these problems persist. Even with a different gmail account on it.
