I am having an issue getting my boot sound to be at the proper volumes. I've tried all the basic troubleshooting tips like adjust system volume, and editing the bit rate of the MP3. I am running AOKP build 39 and what happens is when the sound is supposed to play it is so quiet it is unnoticeable unless you are in a quiet room. Then when the screen brightens when it finally loads is plays the last 3 or 4 seconds at full volume. I've tried different sound binaries and boot animations and MP3 files but its all the same. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Hello everyone been using an app called AudioBoost on market here is link Take a look at "AudioBoost SGS2" https://market.android.com/details?id=org.signalos.audioboostgs2
now it does work fine particularly in increasing in call volume sound, but the sound becomes too loud and distorted at times, anyone knows an app that does the same so I can try it out?.
I tried next to everything, and nothing worked, until I was forwarded this. A huge boost, with absolutely no distortion. Requires root, and an AOSP ROM, like CyanogenMod or MIUI. Absolutely amazing.
try desired vol leve 85
refresh 300
right now i have mine at 93 refresh 300 n went to the music setting equalizer lower the 1s2 n 2nd bar down alittle
hope this helps
This has happened to me more than once on various ROMs from CM9 to CM10.1 (I haven't used a stock ROM in a while): I'll be watching YouTube (or playing a Flash game - I'm not sure if it's restricted to Flash videos though) with the volume at the lowest setting or muted, and all of a sudden it blasts to full volume!
This is most likely to happen at night, when it's conveniently the most annoying. I hesitate to wear headphones now because I don't want to kill my ears - it seems louder than full volume, although that may just be because it's quiet otherwise. I'm using Volume+ at the moment, but from what I can tell the issue is still present without it. Unfortunately the jump is completely random, so pinpointing the cause hasn't been very easy.
Anyone else have this issue? Searching didn't turn up any similar-sounding threads, but I may not have used the right terms. I'd just like to know I'm not the only one...
While I'm no expert, i do have a few thoughts.
The first thing that came to mind was profiles. You mentioned that you've been using cm9/10, could you have set profiles with different volume settings to trigger at different hours of the day?
Also, are you certain you haven't accidentally held down any volume buttons? I've had multiple instances where i accidentally hold the volume button and my volume will go from 0 to 100% without showing or any of the volume levels in between.

Duh!
CM team put in code to recognize when you're watching pr0n and the volume does that to make you end your wicked ways. :good::laugh:
I was just listening to music with the phone on the floor and the volume jumped randomly halfway through the song, so it's definitely not an accidental button press.
I'm going to uninstall Volume+ and Voodoo sound (I wasn't using the latter, and the former was probably killing my poor speaker and my family's ears) and test it again, but I'm fairly certain the problem started before I installed either of them a while ago.
I'll check back if it happens again with no volume modification apps installed, which if my hunch is correct, should be fairly soon.
I play music off my phone in the car. After I answer a call, the music resumes at a much lower volume, despite the fact that I haven't touched the volume on the phone or car. I have to press volume up 3 times and it doesn't go gradually up, but instantly from the low volume to the high it was at. Is there a setting to get the music volume to maintain? Using poweramp. Thanks
Anyone have a similar issue? I remember having it on the GNex as well but fixed it somehow. Cannot remember how, though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I continue to experience this same problem on stock 4.1.2 ROM. I suspect it is a bug in the ROM. I don't know how to duplicate the problem because I have gotten calls and the volume was correctly restored. I've also tried making calls and the volume was correctly restored.
check all your sound setting and make sure that the volume is up on the system part of the sound menu...i had the same problem ...that seemed to fix it for me...

Hello, I'm using PAC nightly from May 16, been using an alpha build from April 16 before that and I'm loving PAC! The only thing I can't seem to figure out is the headset volume. 70% of the time I use my phone is to listen to music. The overall volume level on PAC is a bit low for me, even with the safe listening volume setting disabled and volume maxed out I keep wishing for more. I'm on Galaxy S3 International if that matters, but I don't think it does - I've been using CM10 and 11 previously and some of their builds went way louder (I updated pretty much every week to the latest nightly and the max volume varied with every build). So I know it's not the hardware maximum volume that's keeping me down. I'd like to ask if there is an option / setting anywhere which would allow me to increase the maximum volume. It would have to be something deep down in the system I guess, I don't actually think there's a "Make louder" button hidden somewhere in the settings.. When I crank the preamp of my Poweramp the sound distorts, which to me suggests the sound levels in the software are okay, and then they get clamped by an audio driver / kernel / something like that.. I'm a linux user, so I'm comfy with shell & digging in system files, but I'm no Android expert, so I dunno where to start looking. Could anyone please help out?
I have the same issue while on calls ..guess they don't have solution for this

I'm using my old Nexus 5 with Lineage as a white noise generator. I've tried adding audio.safemedia.bypass=true to build.prop and I've tried system UI tuner. It gets rid of the warning but every few hours the volume suddenly cuts to half.
Does anyone know how to stop that?
