Over clock - Nope! There was a 1Ghz kernel by Maroc-os but it was laggy and a 900Mhz one but it was a beta.
Chainfire3D - Download from Google Play.
Chainfire3D Plugins - Search on Google.
Typed with SwiftKey 3 using XDA Premium on my GT-S5360

Hmm.. ok but i have a better performance with 900mhz or no difference? how i do that?
i using chainfire 3d 2.8 plugin qualcomm
but my fruit ninja is not very good... have a small lag
but in my galaxy 5 is more fast
what is a better kernel for games?

You should try repencis kernel. It is very good kernel with many features available. If you want to gaming, use repencis kernel along with performance or smartass v2 cpu governor, chainfire 3d and swapper to play games smooth. I use those combination to play fruit ninja no lag at all.

Thank you i will try that,
but i think before i do a thing wrong....
when i flashed merruk, i install ext4.zip, and in CWM i choose EXT Size 256 and Swap Size 128mb, wipe data, nothing happens after that.. but i think have something wrong... where i found a tutorial about that? i can't found
and i wanna install my programs in SDCard what is the better way to do that?
my system folder are 97% used!

About the merruk kernel, I'm not really sure where you can find the tutorial. I don't pay attention on it since repencis kernel released, plus it got busybox issue which not fix until now.
If you want to install apps to sdcard, try install manager or rom toolbox lite, you can search both of these apps in google play store. Or you can use repencis rom which have built in apps install location. But not all apps can install in sdcard. I found those method are more easier than using ext partition or a2sd.

Hey is veryyy better now, =D no lag,
repencis 3.5
format ext3 by MiniTool Partition Wizard
install CWM Merruk_Recovery format
and install the a2sd 2.7.5.3 beta 4
=D using smartassv2
how i change my Skin in Repencis?

Check second post in repencis rom topic. there are 2 themes available for you to choose. But be sure to backup your rom first, in case you don't like it or anything wrong you can restore back your setting with the backup.

hey.. last help hehe.. i don't understand.. in the repencis say format in ext2 or ex3 and later automatic will transform in ext4
i format in ext3, and wipe data 5.0.2.6 cwm and reinstall the rom and wipe the rom, and put card again in computer and show ext2, not ext4, its normal?

[ROM] Cow ROM: Moar RAM (359MB), Moar Speed (1.8Ghz)

My fifth ROM (Cow In Black) features:
359MB of available RAM! (Previous 360MB kernel might have problem playing some 720p)
Working SmartAssV2 (credit: erasmux), OnDemandX (credit: imoseyon) and MinMax (credit: erasmux) CPU governors. Testing shows improved battery life.
No more TouchWiz! Using Zeam Launcher! So light and small. Please support the developer, rate it in Market, visit his thread and thanks him.
This ROM will create a 100MB zram. In theory, should give you more memory at the expense of CPU cycles. In my non-scientific testing, performance penalty is not noticeable. But you can disable it if you want.
All Black theme created by friends at FB; Mohd Fazrin Daud and Ilyana Isa.
Others features of the ROM including: internal / external sd swap, deodexed, aligned, Launcher is hard-to-kill, etc.
The following has been removed:
AnalogClock,Dlna,DrmProvider,DrmUA,Email,EmailWidget,GameHub,Maps,MiniDiary,Memo,MusicHub,Phonesky,PhotoRetouch,SamsungApp,
SamsunWidgetNews,SamsungWidgetStockClock,SamsungWidgetWeatherClock,SocialHub,SisoDrmProvider,SnsAccountFB,

- If you need any of those, get it here.
Bugfix:
- Unable to playback certain 720p in hardware acceleration mode [fixed]
- Unable to change language in Setting [fixed]
Get the ROM here:
Cow In Black: (Non-OC)
Part 1
Part 2
Cow In Black: (OC - 1.8ghz - what I am using in my phone )
*WARNING*: OC may break you phone! If you're not sure, use the non-oc ROM
Now, if your phone can boot this, this is the real fun:
Linpack score faster than SGS2! Antutu score 4457!
The kernel adjusted to allow OC (up to 1.8ghz) but phone running at 1.4ghz by default, unless you change that using SetCPU, etc.
Recommend to keep max at 1.4ghz. You can benefit from undervolting that will save you some battery. Adjust temporary to 1.8ghz only when you need it.
Part 1
Part 2
Old ROM:
First cROM, based on I8150DXLA2, swap internal / external, memory tweaked: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5ZUOBOE0
Second cROM (Slim Shady version), based on I8150DXLA2, swap internal / external, memory tweaked but with many many bloatware removed: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5BP4P7GP Antutu max: 4048. look what changed here). Alternate link for Slim Shady version: http://hotfile.com/dl/141564307/783ca8e/GT-I8150_signed_slim.zip.html
Third cROM - 1.8ghz ROM based on Malaysian I8150DXLA2: http://www.multiupload.com/H8O62ZCBGY (now start at 1.4ghz) (thanks qzem)
- Using Arco68 kernel with "Interactive" governor as well. You can set it using SetCPU. Read more about CPU Governor here.
- If you prefer to set it without SetCPU, change it in /etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh
- Somehow, in my non-scientific testing, OnDemand is more stable in this OC ROM.
- *WARNING*: Dont try SmartAssV2! According to acro68, its not tuned for this phone.
- Non-OC ROM Malaysian I8150DXLA2 but with Interactive governor: http://www.multiupload.com/44TODYXXQF
Forth cROM - 1.8ghz, 353MB ram. GPU Accelerated Video Playback. Larger SD Card cache. Disable boot up ani (faster boot up!) and many other tweaks from here (thanks KezraPlanes). CRT animation.

Part 2: http://www.mediafire.com/?9675rx6o71baaga
Here is how to install the ROM:
1. Root your phone.
2. Enable recovery.
3. Download the ROM you like.
4. Put the zip (1 file only) into Internal SD. If you downloaded the file in parts, you need to extract it (using 7zip) into only 1 zip.
5. Boot into ClockWorkMod / RZRecovery, backup your current ROM using nandroid (just in case).
6. If you are upgrading from my previous ROM, no need to wipe anything, just install. All your settings and app will remained. Theme will changed though.
7. If you are installing from stock or from other custom ROM, best to wipe everything using CWM, including your USB and external sd card. Reinstall everything from fresh, don't restore anything from Titanium Backup or anything.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you brick your phone I tried it, it work on my phone and a few others.
Credit: based on acro68 kernel!
Thank you bro..

Thanks for the reviews, especially m8 cowithgun.
I already download it and will try this Rom soon.
Thanks guys,
I have been experimenting with lowmemorykiller parameters. After numerous testing, the found that the following setting give my SGW max score in Antutu benchmark (4048):
write /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/adj 0,3,5,7,14,15
write /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree 1536,2048,6656,6912,7168,7168
So, I have recompiled the boot.img with edited init.rc to reflect to those changes. Check out first page if you want to try this Slim version of the ROM. It's slim because I removed even more stuff this time:
AnalogClock,Dlna,DrmProvider,DrmUA,Email,EmailWidget,GameHub,Maps,MiniDiary,Memo,MusicHub,Phonesky,PhotoRetouch,SamsungApp,SamsunWidgetNews,SamsungWidgetStockClock,SamsungWidgetWeatherClock,SocialHub,SisoDrmProvider,SnsAccountFB,SnsAccountLi,SnsAccountTw,SnsDisclaimer,SnsImageCache,SnsProvider,syncmldm.apk,syncmlds.apk,Talk,Task,VoiceSearch,wssyncmlnps.apk

Cow, just curious.. Did you by any chance refer to v6 supercharger optimization when tweaking the memory? I will definitely try your slim rom, but probably this weekend..

Cow, will you be able to submit your Antutu score without sd card tested? I think that will impact the final score because not everyone using the same sd class.. I'm only at class 4 btw. I tested without sd and the score is 3555..

Ya, I was using v6 supercharger to test the phone and found out that apparently, option 5 gave me best score. Then, I look into the script, apparently what needs to be changed are those 2 lowmemorykiller parameters. So, i extracted boot.img and edit the value in init.rc using those values.
Credit: zeppelinrox for those values... i hope he is not mad that I didn't include his script into the ROM
My SD card is class 10 . Ya, so, may be it's not fair. So, the Antutu score without SD card = 4048 - 150 - 180 = 3718
Again, this is the best case. ^.^

[Q] What version of CyanogenMod to install?

Hey guys,
This is my first thread...
So i got my Gio in april of this year, rooted in juli, flashed CM 2 days ago (did nandroid backup), and i think im ready to flash a new rom.
I have been searching on XDA for quite some time now but i can't seem to find a propre version of CyanogenMod 7.2.
I saw phiex (or what is he called again) thread and that version looks good but the thread is closed and his download link is dead.
I'm looking for a verry-stable ROM.
Does anyone have a link to the download / better version / suggestion for another ROM?
Also, i heard nandroid does not include the kernel... How to get back to stock kernel again if u need to? Just plain ODIN flashing?
When a flash fails and your phone is bricked. Will CWM be able to restore it?
I read somewhere Samsung has a binary counter to see if your phone is flashed to check if your warranty is still valid. Does Gio have this? Forum said you could see it when going into download mode, but i didn't see it when i checked.
If something happens to the phone (like when battery can't live without charger) and you have to send it back to Samsung, is it possible to remove all traces of root and flashing? How?
The apps2SD in CM, will it move all data to SD-card or is it like in the stock rom. (because internal mem is a serieus problem on Gio)
Last question: Will CM affect the market? I mean will you be able to download Temple Run for example, wich is not possible in stock.
Sorry for the huge amount of questions... :/
Who wants to help this flash-noob?
Thanks in advance,
DevWithCookies
-Install cm7 by marcin1147.
Its very stable.
-If u want a fast stable beatiful rom try MIUI GB by frankin96.
-If u want a new android version install latest cm9 by erikcas.
Its completely working except camcorder. Ics 4.0.4
-BTW for memory problem use link2sd. Its the best way to move all user apps and data to sd-ext.

LOL erickas cm9 laggs like hell I use CM9 by MaclawStudio and for memory problem use s2e better than darktremor and link2sd
I'll look into those roms.
MIUI does look nice, indeed.
I used Link2SD before btw and it wasn't all that great.
My memory filled up even with everything that could be moved moved to my SD.
Thanks guys!
Use Marcin his cm7 or Phiexz his cm7. Phiexz one is a little bit outdated but works great (his website is down).
Use a script for more intern memory like Amarullz ad2sdx script or CronMod-INT2EXT+ or intext4 if you have an ext4 partition on sd ext.

I've had great experiences with Link2SD. The only problem I had was that at some point Facebook wouldn't install, stating there wasn't enough memory. That was with about 65Mb of internal memory free...
A bigger problem was all those apps gobbling up CPU by apparently keeping stuff running in the background, which slowed things down considerably. So at the moment I *do* have apps installed and most of them are moved to the SD using Link2SD, but I don't have *too* many apps installed.
I use link2sd. Before i used S2E but experienced heavy laggs even with most stable rom though link2sd is good enough I have free 115 MB left in internal memory good enough for me.

-if you want go back to stock rom you must flash it with odin. nandroid backup doesn't work with stock roms because of different filesystems. and yes nandroid includes the kernel.
-when you softbrick your phone you can still arive the download mode. if it's an hardbrick your phone is dead (i am not sure if this is correct)
-the binary counter is only in the high-end phones like s2
-dont use app2sd. link2sd is the best
-no you cant download temple run. but its not rom related it's cpu related. temple run needs an armv7 cpu but our gio only has
an armv6.
you can download and install all apps which are available for stock rom on custom roms too...
i hope it helps you a little bit
sorry for my bad englisch
For me democrazy rom was the best cm 7.2 rom I ever used... untill now, recently flashed cyanmobile official, also has cm- settings and more included and I think its the least laggy rom I ever expirienced. Both roms work flawless with cronmod' s int2ext+ script.
My experience is that GB based roms always outperform ICS or JB based roms. With holo launcher you can add some ics style and features to GB without performance loss

I think CM 7.2 by Marcin is stable and speedly rom. But cm9/cm10 is more smooth(but some bugs, for example non-working videorecording e.t.c...).
PS when developers release a stable build of cm9/10 then this rom becomes the best rom much ever

I installed JuiceDefender but I didn't notice any changes.
I also don't want to underclock (think it's called that way), I like the performance as it is now.
The way it is now is okay, when I unplug the charger in the morning at 100%, I come home with 16%. (with some gaming on the bus)
But if I don't go home directly... Yeah...
How to save battery on cm-based roms?
PS: Brightness is almost at lowest level and I always turn off wifi.

Best a2sd (or similar) script for CM7?

hi all, i know round the web there are a lot of scripts but what's the best for cm7 in terms of performance and battery?

Link2sd so you can choose which applications to leave in the internal memory
The best for cm7 is a2sd darktremor because of the app you can configure various things and no lags.
Other very good is Cronmod A2SD+ that work on CM7,CM9 and CM10
oh, perfect 4 different opinion xD
sincerely i don't matter about configure various things... i just want a thing i do not have to care about and do what is supposed to... so now my doubts are about a2sd+ or int2ext
If you have a good sdcard use int2ext+ but if you have a class 2 or 4 sdcard use a2sd+
what about s2e? better than a2sd?

I have used s2e longtime but I lost all my apps a couple of times... the problem was that cwm convert my sd-ext ext4 to ext2 and s2e can't handle ext2. Make a nandroid backup and try CronMod-INT2EXT+ or Amarullz a2sd script or mounts2sd (that has many options + aroma installer!). Try before you die
Edit: I use int2ext+ now and it's really good. Just flash it once and you never get to look at it again. I know for sure when you try a script like int2ext+ (or amarullz one) you never wants to go back to s2e or darktremors a2sd again!

Bugs:
A2SD

D2EXT

INT2EXT
-Some devices may still lose there data connection (fix: try the xperia version)
-Some devices may still lose there gps (fix: try the gps version)
-Some phones can experience a low sound bug (fix: run fix-permissions)
-Some phones recoverys wont flash the script properly (fix: mount /system in recovery then flash)
what do you think about it?
As far i used cm7, first choice was s2e. then Amarullz script.

Sorry For My English BTW
Our problem is with Ram, so you have to find a way to keep it free always.
For me, the best rom is CM9 eol + honeyx kernel, tweaks like seeder is very welcome.
I play games like Subway Surfers and RedLine Rush without lag, I just overclock to 1.8GHz and put Aggressive on Seeder, remember to close all tasks before. If keep lagging , put the phone into Airplane mode.
Good luck!

I play games like Subway Surfers and RedLine Rush without lag, I just overclock to 1.8GHz and put Aggressive on Seeder, remember to close all tasks before. If keep lagging , put the phone into Airplane mode.
Good luck!

Because it will disable wifi and 3g, so, background apps such as WhatsApp won't work and it will give you more ram to gaming. Do it help me a little bit with lag.

Yeah, I already use Greenify. And I've used Ram manager pro for a time, but I uninstalled it, I can't see any difference between using or not.

Which kernel do you use? What about flash the stock rom and start all again? Did you tried? I would do this, if I was you.
After you start by the zero, make these 3 steps:
1> Install CM9 eol
2> Install Honeyx kernel
3> Install Seeder and Greenify.
This is sufficient for a fast and stable rom with a good battery.

CPU or GPU rendering? I've disabled GPU rendering.
No, this bar won't slow your phone.
Yes, I think restore apps's data from other rom may be a problem. I recommend you only restore the apks.

I prefer disable GPU rendering. You can disable it in Settings.
I don't think this will make some difference, but for safety, reinstall the apks after flash the kernel.
To flash Honeyx Kernel, use this guide:
1. Reboot To Recovery Mode
2. Flash the kernel
3. Wipe Cache & Dalvik Cache
4. Fix Permissions
5. Reboot (normal boot)
6. Reboot to recovery again
7. Fix permissions again
8. Reboot (normal boot)
Good luck!

if you want to swap sd card..just go to settings>storage> tap the menu > configuration > and tick "internal storage" (if i'm not mistaken, because i'm not using cm9 right now)
what i mean swapfile here is to make a virtual memory for your phone. Since our phone doesn't have sufficient RAM to play games smoothly

If there is lot of apps installed on sd it take some time rom to load it.
Did you partition sd card? And used link2sd to link it to ex2/3/4 partition?

Well, i've been using this rom a long time and i didn't have any of those problems (few lags in heavy games, but i don't say this rom is pure gaming - it's well balanced between gaming and daily eye-candy use)
Are you on lupus v7 kernel? R800i model?
Beside faulty sd card or faulty battery, i can't think of any other reason for random reboots. Is it happening on other roms you tried?

I use also link2sd, but only to move apps to sd that i can't move from settings-apps. I don't have extra partitions on sd card.
I don't think baseband is problem (i've tested it 62, 79 and even .631 from Neo L - still using last one). You can try that baseband from here (untick all, leave only baseband when flashing from flashtool).
As for kernel, both Lupus 720p and 480p is working nicely, but if 640x480 in mp4 format is enough for your taste, you can use 480p for better gaming permormance (i'm using that one)
As for rebooting, i really don't have any more ideas, maybe other users can help you more...

kernel is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167766
480p version is file named LuPuS_zeus_Stock-gB+iCsv7-ram.img (it's in second post)
If you are using 720p version, no need to reinstall anything, just flash 480p kernel from flashtool

In v7 CWM recovery bugs are fixed and few other tweaks in lupus menu (and updated sources or something like that).
You can flash v7 over v5 freely (no matter is it 480p or 720p version)
If you ask what type of roms it support, it works on sony ics and gb based roms
